Our football identity is The United Way... We do not want to become another City. The identity is a two-way development. City are very much Pep despite the obvious identity that Berrada ache Co. have developed... EtH has very progressive thoughts and systems of football that have elements of the United Way and can easily be adapted and developed to what the new team may want... he's the right man for the job; needs backing and a _proper_ structure upstairs.

A defined style of play on the club by the director level means your manager can come and go, but your play style is consistent. If your play style is consistent, the squad doesnt accumulate a mixture of player styles that become redundant when a new manager comes in. It also stops the club from locking in on 1 specific player and instead gpong for a type of footballer, which means you walk away from deals when they dont make sense and dont overpay because you go for another option.

Come on Sam, you didnt just speak of EtH leaving!!! I kinda agree with you on Omar Berrada and creation of a good footballing strategy honestly I do. And it's very true that Ten Hag has made some really bad decisions in the transfer market but regardless I'd never want him gone as a coach. Much of our style-less play or no identity per se has been down to injuries but I'd back Ten Hag over and over because of my reasons here;
First of all there aren't that many good coaches and I believe he is one of those few good ones left. (I believe he can get the best out of this united team because he's done that before in Ajax where the system let him coach and he had Vandersaar as CEO as well as Marc Overmars as the sporting director. He really did deliver because recruitment was taken care of and it was spot on)
Finally No other coach in the last few appointments has shown his commitment to the academy as much (Emphasis on as much) as much as Ten Hag has which is the Manchester United way and I think those kids stand a very good chance of development to their highest potentials for as long as we have him (EtH) in the seat, the likes of Garna, Mainoo, Kambwala, Dan Gore not forgetting those coming through the academy such as Shea Lacey, Sam Mathers, Harry Amass, Shoretire, Hugil, Omari Forson, Ethan Wheatley and a whole lot of other players are the future of United. Not forgetting the performances of our U21s plus the so far unbeaten U18 side. I repeat Back the manager and have a good (supportive) structure behind then lets judge after starting on a clean slate

Omar Berrada with Dan Ashworth pretty much nailed on to join us aswell INEOS arent messing about when they said they want the best in class. In these two we have that. Massive changes are happening at United & its about bloody time aswell. I've been so impressed with Sir Jim's & his people work so far at United. Having the rigjt footballing structure in place will no doubt help Ten Hag & will improve us massively in how we're run. Any decisions made from here on in will be done in a far more smart efficient manner.

problem with transfers is planning. Of course you overpay when you are couple days from window closing and you still dont have a team. Many teams gets their top targets LAST season. For example Copenhagen goalkeeper from yesterday ucl already knows he will go to wolfsburg next year. Deal is done. He can move to new club after summerholiday and has many weeks time to get used in tactics. Manu always give.. 2 days.
We need DOF who can design with manager many options for targets and do plan B and C same time as A..niot after.
Manchester United is a clean club and i hope that medical and financial doping and lobbying(corruption??)is not a part of his blueprint for success as it has most probably been at both Barca and City.

Ten hag hasn’t had a lack of footballing identity. He’s just in the midsts of transitioning towards it from a starting point that’s as as far removed as it was possible to be.
The most important person at the club is still the Manager... You can bring in all the players you want.. But if the Manager doesn't want them it doesn't work.... You can save a few pounds on transfer fees... But the wrong player is still the wrong player... 80m or 40m....

Not throwing this at you Sam, but we can’t blame lack of team identity on EtH this season. Injuries to key players have clearly been a key factor. I am growing so tired of our fickle fan base and this instant gratification / demanding culture we live in. Think if Fergie hadn’t been given the time he was given. Stand by the manager for another season minimum. If he doesn’t put his identity on a fully fit squad of his players then I’ll agree he needs to go - but we are certainly not there yet. Have faith, people.

The problem we over hype or over talk about someone then when he makes a mistake we go quick to criticise. It is going to take him time to rebuild our club which has been in shambles for so long, lets not get too excited as if hes going to change everything today. Lets talk less and give the money time to do his magic. I believe in Omar but its not going to be instant
