The legend. I’m not a fan of remakes because often they aren’t necessarily better than the first version and the jlo movie was really good, very moving. So I hope this show will raise the bar even higher and go deeper in her history. Rip beautiful Selena. Gone but never forgotten❣

I would have loved seeing a series solely based on the book, even if the family participated in producing that, too.
I still think us Selena fans should really give this series a chance and see how it goes. There's going to be so many people who'll hear of Selena for the first time and no matter if it's the Quintanilla's or Chris producing it, Selena's legacy will continue to be memorialized thanks to this.

Christian Serratos is gonna do amazing in this role. Rosita is one of my favorites on TWD. I was 17 when Selena passed and was devastated. She was so beautiful and talented. We were always at Texas rodeos but I never got to see her live.
I hope that with Selena, Christian Serratos can shine brighter with Rosita in the last season of The Walking Dead. Rosita is such an underrated character!

Why emphasize these specific quotes..... they could have just had selena dancing or singing but nah lets make it about her father somehow. Maybe im the one being biased i really lost a lot of respect after the treatment of selenas husband after her death and how Abraham Quintanilla cared more about the money and selenas music rights over her son-inlaws loss. Like this is the guy that selena chose over her music career, wasnt she willing to give up her career and risk disbanding the group just to be with him.... she practically chose him over her father/band/maybe even her family, thats how much selena loved Chris Perez. But as soon as she passes away Chris Perez gets shunned and even sued becaused he tried to tell his side of the story in a book and tv show which got canceled thanks to selenas father.... i just dont like him, money was priority all along hence the choice of word in this trailer "its all gonna pay off"...... well mr quintanilla...... not for selena it didnt, but i guess it did for you

They both have the fans the legacy and the accolades to provide it but Selena is available everywhere, her music can be licensed and her image can be used to sell as well as immortalized in film. While Aaliyah is hidden away even from her own immediate family. So that means her music can’t be licensed and her image and brand can not be used.
They both have the loyal fan base and a family who celebrate her name
