Anything to protect SQP to the fullest, so she could one day become a mom. I think these protectors, were divided. And that division enabled SQP to work around them, right in front of them. And to me, that's unhappiness. And that's not trust either. And such divisiveness and manipulation resulted in SQP walking into her own death trap. Noone is so kind to believe everything or anything. Surely, the protective men in SWPs life were not naive But noone stepped up effectively, apparently, to guide SQP to avoid the highly skilled manipulative YS. If SQP believed everyone's heart and thought the best of them, I wonder; why then did she not believe her spouse who apparently demanded she not see YS? That YS could be managed legitimately. And legitimate tax write-offs include losses from thefts. And no money stolen is more important than SQPs safety.
It wasn't that. The Perez family hired her to work and run a business. They trusted her until they had reason not to. They had no clue the little gremlin carried a gun and was capable of murder.

I watched this with my mom and she said about halfway through the series “It’s so hard to watch this knowing what’s going to happen. You don’t want it to happen, but it’s going to happen.”
Right? I was born in 1995 and discovered Selena as my parents would listen to her, making me fall in love with her music. I wore out my VHS tape of her 1990s movie and watching this was gutwrenching the entire time because I just KNEW how it was going to end. The second Abraham mentioned Yolanda and bringing her into the business, I was like, "Oh crap, this is the beginning of the end."
I also heard that her father and brother were actually not too far away at a local restaurant while they waiting for her, like the series shows. I also think Yolanda purposely made Selena impatient and want to be done with the situation so she’d have tunnel vision and get essentially caught by surprise. If that makes sense. There’s so many layers and intricacies. It’s really astounding. I also think she went to flee out the room right when she was about to be shot, her running without stopping seemed like she was fleeing right before the gunshot and not necessarily after, again if that makes sense.

He had suggested his dad dropping him off at the motel and they would've gone to lunch together but she told him "No, dad's already going to be so mad at me."

Her death still breaks my heart to this day. Her death is a life lesson. 1. Everyone is not your friend 2. Never mix friendship with business 3. Always have a second person with you when it is time to cut ways with a toxic person. RIP Selena. You are still loved to this day.
Selena's family admitted that was part of her downfall. She always wanted to see the good in people and was "too trusting" at times. Apparently, her family had a bad feeling about Yolanda and warned Selena they should just fire her. But Selena wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, it was her desire to see the good in people that lead to her death when she saw the toxicity in Yolanda too late. Yolanda knew she could take advantage of Selena because of her good heart and it cost Selena everything.
So haunting and heartbreaking to know that she left Chris sleeping that morning. He said he had such survivors guilt for years . Such guilt that he wasn't awake. If he had been, he would've insisted on taking her and wouldn't have happened..sadly I don't know if it would eafe a difference .Yolanda was psychotic ..she PLANNED to kill Selena. If she didn't do it that morning she probably would've done it another time ... Yolanda Is the ONLY person that should shoulder any blame.

I heard one of her songs on the radio yesterday and have been thinking about her ever since. The saddest part is she didn’t die right away and left a huge trail of blood from her hotel room to the lobby trying to find help and let people know what had happened. She lasted until surgery at the hospital. It’s crazy how something that happened so long ago can still get you upset and make you appreciate life

I went to middle school with Selena. I had her for 2 classes, Homemaking and Art. She was 2 yrs younger than me. She was just started Singing on The Domingo Live show on Sundays. She had the lil curly hair, very short. We were always laughing and Cutting up. I remember exactly what I was doing when it came on the news. I was cleaning the shower at my house cuz My mom was at work. I heard the news, came out of the bathroom sat down and started crying. I will never forget it or her RIP Selena❤ I always told my kids and now my Grandkids about her and going to middle school with her. They get such a kick out of it. Its funny seeing my Granddaughters dancing and singing to her songs. I live in Corpus Christi, Texas. They have her Statue downtown and where she is buried. I live like 5 mins from the cemetary and its so hard to go see it. Im glad that we met.❤

This is a PRIME example of how the nice, kind, and good hearted people are treated. Selena had a big heart, because of that , she was used, played, & when she TRIED to stick up for herself and what’s right, she gets killed. There is never anything wrong with being nice. But it is important to be cautious, rational and weary of others. We also need to be realistic that doing good for everyone will not necessarily be repaid with good. Because not everyone choose to do good.

She actually trusted Yolanda immediately because of her father, her father was (I don't mean this in an offensive way) a cheap person. Yolanda came up to Abraham and said that she would work free and she was Selena's number one fan so Abraham trusted her and so did Selena. You hear about celebrities tragic deaths all the time, but there is just something extra heartbreaking about Selena's death. A young girl, whose life was really just starting at 23, murdered senselessly by her supposed "friend." I remember listening to Selena's music when I was only four years old. I can't help but think this tragedy might've been averted if Chris, or her dad had been there. It's a shame.
The scariest thing watching this is that I felt bad for Yolanda and it makes me realize how many people have been and could be in Selena’s shoes. Being emotionally manipulated by a psychopath because you have a big heart and are very empathetic. @Edward89 actually he wasn't. he wrote in his book how she didn't tell him where she was going until she called him from his cell phone to tell him what was going on. he did ask her if she wanted him to meet her at the motel and they would've went to lunch together but she said she had to go to the studio because her dad was already going to be upset. Chris wasn't supposed to be there. Selena told him not to come and it's a decision he regrets every single day.

This will forever be sad. Unfortunately, my family didn't become fans of hers until after her passing. The foundation that she has planted in the music industry, in both Mexico and in the US, shows you what a true talent she was. P.s. - the actress playing her did a fantastic freaking job. Who would've known Angela from Twilight had this type talent under her belt. You get the right part, your talents really flourish
What I loved about the series was that it explored more of Selena's story that many people didn't even get to see the original film. You actually learn more about her legacy and what went down behind the scenes.
She died on my mother in laws birthday, so crazy. Every year I think of them both since my mother in law passed in 2015… I’ve always loved Selene and her music and loved the movie! I’ve got Netflix but had no idea this was on there so def fixing to watch it when my son goes to school!! She just didn’t deserve this, I wish we could go back in time and save her :/ I don’t understand why it had to be her time!? She was SO happy, planning a family and an English music album and finally was getting big and it was all just taken from her! She was only what 22?! Poor beautiful Angel, I hope she is resting in Heaven, at Peace and singing with all the other beautiful Angels! 💜🙏🏼
Selena is one of my biggest heroes and motivations, having inspired and motivated me to pursue my dreams and goals. I served in the US Army for 3 years (2009-2012). Needless to say, there were several people who didn't want me to join because they'd worry and didn't want anything to happen to me, blah blah blah. But then again, you don't have to be in the military for something bad to happen. We all know what Selena's fate was, and she wasn't in the military. 😠 I'll always look up to Selena. 💗

I recently lost someone very close to me. This person died on 12-18-2021. After experiencing a close death, watching the Selena Netflix last episode was heart wrenching and hit far too close too home, seeing the families reaction, and watching Chris laying in bed with his headphones in a numb state of mind....... is exactly what I've been doing the last couple of weeks. Completely heart broken.

Abraham should have called the police on her but Selena convinced him not to. She probably would have still been alive if he had trusted his instincts and called them. I tried so hard not to get hooked on the series and just at war with myself as to whether or not to watch the last episode.
He thought Chris was the snake and the potentially bad influence on her and like a vicious howling guard dog, tried to run him off. Chris was actually the one who loved her more than anything else. Yet he failed to spot the real snake, Yolanda.

I watched this with my parents, my two grandmas, and my siblings and on this scene all of us were crying so much it was such a sad scene. Me and my whole family love Selena she's such an inspiration to me
Poor Selena. I loved her music when I was like... 6-7, maybe 8. I remember when she died even. One of my oldest memories. This girl in one of my classes around that time had one of her CD's and I remember thinking about taking it before I decided that was a shitty thing to do. Weird the memories we remember among the thousands of forgotten ones that were never solidified into our brain's hard drive.
I actually saw Yolanda in prison back in 96 or 95, my high school class for AP psychology had gone on a field trip to visit two different prison units. She was sitting in her cell reading a Bible. The guards didn't outright say it was her, but when I looked at one of the guards in a bit of disbelief, she just looked straight ahead after making eye contact with me and uttered "Yup".
Christian Serratos is an amazing actress, and she did beautifully in the role! She also played Rosita Espinosa in The Walking Dead, and she was amazing in that role as well!

im indifferent to celebrity deaths. i feel sympathy for the friends, family and fans, but i dont cry. but something about selena makes me cry whenever i hear people talking about her. the details of her death., her personality, it was so genuine and kind and its so heartbreaking to know she loved and cared for everyone, hearing people talk about how shed treat her fans, hearing how she trusted people she literally just met. its so sad her trust and kindness got her killed. and she was nice enough to drive yolanda to the hospital before the shooting? makes me feel so upset. i cant imagine the fear she felt during her last moments. she was still so strong in the end. it mustve felt like the entire world was caving in on her. hearing the doctors say if it was just 1 millimeter up or down, she wouldve survived. and hearing what the paramedics had to say when they were trying to insert the IV is just horrible and so scary. and the autopsy results just really breaks me, it was so bad. she died so brutally. the bullet got her in just the wrong place. ive never heard hearing 1 bullet take someone out so brutally. i wish she wouldve survived, for everyone. she deserves to be here right now. her loved ones deserve to have her and see her every day. i wish nothing but the worst for yolanda. rest in peace beautiful selena, the most perfect angel up there.

I was in San Antonio on the 20th Anniversary of Selena's death and EVERY radio station was playing Selena or covers of Selena. Even the country,rock and classical stations.
My grandma was a huge Selena fan when she fought found out she was murder she actually cried from what my father told me. She never cried when her favorite celebrities dies she gets upset about it and moved on but when Selena died she cried for hours because she thought she will be alive for decades to come but it didn’t happen it hit her a lot she still listen to her music but once a while she will shed a few tears for what could’ve been.

Right? I was born in 1995 and discovered Selena as my parents would listen to her, making me fall in love with her music. I wore out my VHS tape of her 1990s movie and watching this was gutwrenching the entire time because I just KNEW how it was going to end. The second Abraham mentioned Yolanda and bringing her into the business, I was like, "Oh crap, this is the beginning of the end."

I also heard that her father and brother were actually not too far away at a local restaurant while they waiting for her, like the series shows. I also think Yolanda purposely made Selena impatient and want to be done with the situation so she’d have tunnel vision and get essentially caught by surprise. If that makes sense. There’s so many layers and intricacies. It’s really astounding. I also think she went to flee out the room right when she was about to be shot, her running without stopping seemed like she was fleeing right before the gunshot and not necessarily after, again if that makes sense.

Selena's family admitted that was part of her downfall. She always wanted to see the good in people and was "too trusting" at times. Apparently, her family had a bad feeling about Yolanda and warned Selena they should just fire her. But Selena wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, it was her desire to see the good in people that lead to her death when she saw the toxicity in Yolanda too late. Yolanda knew she could take advantage of Selena because of her good heart and it cost Selena everything.
So haunting and heartbreaking to know that she left Chris sleeping that morning. He said he had such survivors guilt for years . Such guilt that he wasn't awake. If he had been, he would've insisted on taking her and wouldn't have happened..sadly I don't know if it would eafe a difference .Yolanda was psychotic ..she PLANNED to kill Selena.
If she didn't do it that morning she probably would've done it another time ...

I heard one of her songs on the radio yesterday and have been thinking about her ever since. The saddest part is she didn’t die right away and left a huge trail of blood from her hotel room to the lobby trying to find help and let people know what had happened. She lasted until surgery at the hospital. It’s crazy how something that happened so long ago can still get you upset and make you appreciate life

I went to middle school with Selena. I had her for 2 classes, Homemaking and Art. She was 2 yrs younger than me. She was just started Singing on The Domingo Live show on Sundays. She had the lil curly hair, very short. We were always laughing and Cutting up. I remember exactly what I was doing when it came on the news. I was cleaning the shower at my house cuz My mom was at work. I heard the news, came out of the bathroom sat down and started crying. I will never forget it or her RIP Selena❤ I always told my kids and now my Grandkids about her and going to middle school with her. They get such a kick out of it. Its funny seeing my Granddaughters dancing and singing to her songs. I live in Corpus Christi, Texas. They have her Statue downtown and where she is buried. I live like 5 mins from the cemetary and its so hard to go see it. Im glad that we met.❤

What I loved about the series was that it explored more of Selena's story that many people didn't even get to see the original film. You actually learn more about her legacy and what went down behind the scenes.

She died on my mother in laws birthday, so crazy. Every year I think of them both since my mother in law passed in 2015… I’ve always loved Selene and her music and loved the movie! I’ve got Netflix but had no idea this was on there so def fixing to watch it when my son goes to school!! She just didn’t deserve this, I wish we could go back in time and save her :/ I don’t understand why it had to be her time!? She was SO happy, planning a family and an English music album and finally was getting big and it was all just taken from her! She was only what 22?! Selena is one of my biggest heroes and motivations, having inspired and motivated me to pursue my dreams and goals.
I served in the US Army for 3 years (2009-2012). Needless to say, there were several people who didn't want me to join because they'd worry and didn't want anything to happen to me, blah blah blah. But then again, you don't have to be in the military for something bad to happen. We all know what Selena's fate was, and she wasn't in the military. 😠

I recently lost someone very close to me. This person died on 12-18-2021.
After experiencing a close death, watching the Selena Netflix last episode was heart wrenching and hit far too close too home, seeing the families reaction, and watching Chris laying in bed with his headphones in a numb state of mind....... is exactly what I've been doing the last couple of weeks. Completely heart broken.
Selena was such a beautiful soul. One can only imagine what accomplishments she'd have under her belt if she was still here. She accomplished so much in her short 23 years. It's beautiful to see her fan base continue to grow. I didn't know who she was until the movie and I've been a fan ever since. I watched this with my parents, my two grandmas, and my siblings and on this scene all of us were crying so much it was such a sad scene. Me and my whole family love Selena she's such an inspiration to me
Poor Selena. I loved her music when I was like... 6-7, maybe 8. I remember when she died even. One of my oldest memories. This girl in one of my classes around that time had one of her CD's and I remember thinking about taking it before I decided that was a shitty thing to do. Weird the memories we remember among the thousands of forgotten ones that were never solidified into our brain's hard drive.
I actually saw Yolanda in prison back in 96 or 95, my high school class for AP psychology had gone on a field trip to visit two different prison units.
She was sitting in her cell reading a Bible. The guards didn't outright say it was her, but when I looked at one of the guards in a bit of disbelief, she just looked straight ahead after making eye contact with me and uttered "Yup".

im indifferent to celebrity deaths. i feel sympathy for the friends, family and fans, but i dont cry. but something about selena makes me cry whenever i hear people talking about her. the details of her death., her personality, it was so genuine and kind and its so heartbreaking to know she loved and cared for everyone, hearing people talk about how shed treat her fans, hearing how she trusted people she literally just met. its so sad her trust and kindness got her killed. and she was nice enough to drive yolanda to the hospital before the shooting? makes me feel so upset. i cant imagine the fear she felt during her last moments. she was still so strong in the end. it mustve felt like the entire world was caving in on her. hearing the doctors say if it was just 1 millimeter up or down, she wouldve survived. and hearing what the paramedics had to say when they were trying to insert the IV is just horrible and so scary. and the autopsy results just really breaks me, it was so bad. she died so brutally. the bullet got her in just the wrong place. ive never heard hearing 1 bullet take someone out so brutally. i wish she wouldve survived, for everyone. she deserves to be here right now. her loved ones deserve to have her and see her every day. i wish nothing but the worst for yolanda.

Anyway my cousin was sitting out there crying cuz she didn't get to meet her. Selena stopped and ,us,a nobody. Came and hugged her and gave her a signature poster. Other snob singers I don't think would care. I don't think she will ever know what that meant to my cousin. Rip Selena. So sad.

It makes me feel bad that Selena Quintanilla Perez gets shot by her friend, I couldn't believe that Selena died so young, I wish I could go back to March 31st 1995 and I would of told Selena to not go to the room with Yolanda, I would of save Selena from getting shot.
It wasn't just that Selena was kind hearted and trusting, which she certainly was ....but she was also very stubborn and headstrong. She should have listened to her husband and father, and left Yolanda alone! But what 23 year old does that typically? Three times, Yolanda had Selena running to her beckon call, even after her initial firing. Selena could have gone to the bank to get her own financial records. So sad and tragic.
If any of us can travel back in time and stop her from going into the hotel room with her. Ugh... KILLS ME everytime. Makes me wish I had the power to change the outcome. :(

I was in San Antonio on the 20th Anniversary of Selena's death and EVERY radio station was playing Selena or covers of Selena. Even the country,rock and classical stations.
My grandma was a huge Selena fan when she fought found out she was murder she actually cried from what my father told me. She never cried when her favorite celebrities dies she gets upset about it and moved on but when Selena died she cried for hours because she thought she will be alive for decades to come but it didn’t happen it hit her a lot she still listen to her music but once a while she will shed a few tears for what could’ve been.
