On March 26th her cousin Debra called her saying “be careful Yolanda doesn’t sound right she’s using excuses to get you alone whatever you do don’t meet her alone and Selena said oh why do you think she’s gonna kill me, her bodyguard also told her their was a shrine of her in Yolandas house and she didn’t believe them so we can’t say Selena wasn’t warned even her father told her she was so young and naive it’s not her fault it’s Yolandas but this is why you should listen to your parents and the people around you because her cousin and people working at the boutique told her about Yolanda
Selena and the Quintanilla family should have blame themselves. They had hired Yolanda Saldivar to manage the fan club, but without doing a background check. Even if that person may not have a criminal history (no felonies, no misdemeanors), you still need to do a background check. They did not found out a few years later that Yolanda had money problems with a previous employer because it was settled out of court.
Honestly that is the biggest fact there. I keep looking over how Yolanda got in the Selena circle and its always mentioned it was the dad allowing her to start the fan club thinking nothing was gonna happen.
I don’t disagree, but it was a very different time back then. Situations like this are learning lessons and ultimately the reason employers have such strict hiring processes now.
@@BFFFL1492 That’s exactly what I said. The situation with Selena taught me to always have someone with me when confronting someone about something as serious as money. Just like Aaliyah’s situation taught me to be patient and trust my gut instinct 🥺
They should have just gone to the police and called it a day. Being too nice gets you nowhere. Yolanda was given too many chances by her last job and in this situation. Those checks were enough to involve the authorities. Yolanda had shown Selena the gun after this meeting and weeks before shooting her. It seems like the only person who knew about the gun besides Selena was Chris. Timing is everything. If you are showing me this gun right after we confront you letting you know your job is on the line and we might take this to the police I'm reading between the lines. You never shown me a gun before but this specific time you do?? Automatically I'm taking it as a threat. I would never meet up with you alone again, straight to the authorities I'm going after that. I know she was playing along to get her stuff back but being shown the gun was the time to throw in the towel. I would also tell everyone in my family to stay clear of her for their safety.
I always felt that Mr. Quintanilla was just being plain cheap, when Selena needed proper promotion. He should've gone to a reputable Celebrity agency to handle Selena's fan clubs, and fan merchandising. As well as the boutiques, hiring experienced people who knew about taking charge and running speciality retail. Abraham would've been happy in the long run, Selena knowing her love and joy of the boutiques were in good hands, as well as the fan clubs, and Selena would've been spending more of her time bringing more joy through her music today.

They should have just called the police, filed a report and a restraining order and fired her with police supervision or over the phone whatever but it didn't have to go down the way it did. Smh.
This looks like a more accurate version of how the meeting went down.
Abraham and Suzette were very smart and not playing games with her, that was so incredibly low and stupid of Yolanda
They should have called the police
Unfortunately I had NO idea who Selena was until she died. I learned from her death to NEVER be too nice. People take advantage of you.
@Trevon Martin
I didn’t either. I was only 4 years old at the time of her death in 1995 and around 9 when I first saw the movie and learned about her story.
I’ve always been told that not every person you meet is going to be your friend. Never mix friendship with business because it’s a disaster waiting to happen.
Same Here Then I Just Fell In Love with her Music 🎶 and Her Personality
It’s sad because her cousin and her father warned her about Yolanda.
“I would never steal from Selena “ she’s a compulsive liar 😡😤
Selena and the Quintanilla family should have blame themselves. They had hired Yolanda Saldivar to manage the fan club, but without doing a background check. Even if that person may not have a criminal history (no felonies, no misdemeanors), you still need to do a background check. They did not found out a few years later that Yolanda had money problems with a previous employer because it was settled out of court.
Ok I don’t know if you a troll but you need. To go out and touch grass or something because you way out of line get help
Honestly that is the biggest fact there. I keep looking over how Yolanda got in the Selena circle and its always mentioned it was the dad allowing her to start the fan club thinking nothing was gonna happen.
@@Nicole-by3ng maybe the dad liked her...
That change in expression at 1:05. Like wow
Fun fact: Yolanda completely lied when she said “I would never hurt my best friend” tbh she did kill her tho
Selena can’t trust Yolanda anymore after she saw her true color
They should have gotten the police involved, instead of Selena trying to handle everything.
Yolanda your lying the records are honestly what happened to you
The fact that Yolanda said she would never hurt Selena or her best friend! Like what is wrong with her?!
It's not fair that Yolanda got to grow old and Selena didn't
The murderer will never live peacefully again if she makes parole. So it don’t matter to be if she’s released or not 🤷🏽♀️
Can we give props to the actress who played Yolanda? She did excellent. Like Lupe Ontiveros did in the movie.
Rip to a beautiful gorgeous woman, Selena Quintanilla Perez, we still miss you
That background drama music slaps!
Yolanda: I would never hurt my best friend.
Selena: In casket.
1:10 this is what caused fuel for Yolanda to know how she could hurt Abraham in the most hurtful way ever
Abraham should have NEVER said out loud that he was going to the police
I just started watching this series and that shrine to Selena in part 2 was just omg
"DON'T LOOK AT HER, ANSWER THE QUESTION" 😡
ima say this ONE time its on SIGHT 2025!
Selena’s trust was her demise.
Suzette is so beautiful in this this scene 💗
I prefer this one over the movie one
I seen the selena quintanilla series I love it but I cry hard at the end my favorite Spanish singer
Long Live The Queen
Chilling scene.
I concur! He’s also extremely shady
1:32 I never hurt my best friend??🤢🤢
I didn’t do anything she lying 🙄🙄
Cristian Serratos is very beautiful and a great actress since the walking dead 🖤🖤
"I would never hurt Selena." Yet you did. You murdered her and took her life away. If she was your best friend, you would never do that.
“I would never hurt my bestfriend” but ya did and you can never take it back..
🦅💁🏻♂️0:33 Would you imagine if those check copies are the real deal after 27 years ago, and were used as props for this scene from the time Selena was with us? That would be a strong possibility after preserving their condition after a long time. Anything is possible
They used the same background music from the 1997 film.
I notice that too
Her dad should have just called the police ………..
This edit made this scene 10x better 😭
Abraham put pressure on Selena to either keep her or fire her. ummm, Señor, you allowed this woman to come in and work. You answered her desperate calls, you gave her and opportunity soo you should have fired her in the first place. You put Selena in danger that fatal day
worst mistake by Selena was confronting Yolanda by herself, going to the Hotel alone, either have police protection or have bodyguards accompanying her, or have her fiance Chris go with her.
abraham should have just called the cops and yocaca would have gone to jail and selena would still be alive
They wanted the full records
@@lizcoffey5538 they can get that with the cops involved… they would’ve issued a warrant and gotten all those papers back
I just finished watching the show today
What i didnt like about selena’s dad suzette and even selena was that they didnt have the police involved and a detective present that night
I hated that the Selena used in the series looks more like Jennifer Lopez than the actual Selena .
That’s kind of dumb lol. Bc Jennifer Lopez looks like Selena’s twin. So if she looked like Jennifer Lopez then she looked like Selena.
@@lajamost273 The only thing they have in common re appearance is their hair colour . They look nothing alike , not all Spanish speaking individuals look the same !!!
Yay! You're back! A good video :)
Yolanda is a monster
Christian Seratos as Selena.
She is eligible for parole in 2025. Hope she is denied that opportunity just like she denied Selena her right to walk away from her when she was shot
I think someone will get her if she gets out anyway so..
It's interesting how neither the movie or the series quite manages to get Yolanda's age right. The movie makes her look like a grandmother while the series makes her look like she's of a similar age to Selena. In fact she was a full decade older than her.
They guy who plays Selena dad on. Here looks much more like they dad more than they guy who plays her dad from they movie
The woman who played Yolanda did so good...she is manipulative makes you feel bad for her
Yes. The actress from the movie did a good job at being fake nice too.
If only they had fired her then and sent her to jail, then Selena would still be alive. She left this world too soon. 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
I love you Selena
She should've been arrested at that point
No disrespect to Lupe Ontiveros but this Yolanda was the right one cuz she looks the part for 36 years old Lupe was 54 playing a 36 year old
I remember her character Rosita from the Goonies.
All of this could have been prevented!!!!!
I would never hurt my best friend. That same month, she permanently hurt the person she called her best friend.
Selenas thought Yolanda was a nice and caring person.
They should’ve called the police right then and there.
