She was sensual, not overtly sexual. Everything about her had a certain innocence. She was cool and free spirit, and you can feel it through her music, how she danced, how eloquently she spoke, man this woman is phenomenal.
Exactly. Selena was a TRUE artist, and a true lady, both on stage and off. Vulgar lyrics and acting like a porn star on stage, like so many of the "artists" out there today, is for amatures. Selena had more talent, charisma and class in her little finger than all of those wannabes, combined. She was the real deal.

I agree, however, I do think that the movie brought Selena to many people who were too young to remember her originally. Then those people can look up her original stuff, when they might not have thought to otherwise. I know that's what happened for me, at least.
Selena was in "Don Juan de Marco, which, sadly, she never got to see because it only came out after her passing, and she had a role in a Mexican soap opera, but with her talent and charisma, she'd undoubtedly be ALL OVER tv and the movies today. I heard somewhere that she was once considered to play the part of Maria in a remake of "West Side Story".

She was never a diva. She was so true to herself her roots an her family. I was going to name my daughter Selena but she had a cousin that was only 2 yrs older so I didnt. The world lost a real Angel when we lost her. I played her sons threw my pregnancy an my daughter is now 14 an she listens to her everyday too. Alot of adults flip because she knows who she is. Especially sense she was raised by me only. Lol. But because i could not speak alot of spanish i wanted her yo learn an Selena was the best one to learn from. How can I miss someone so much that I never even got to meet? I love her so much.
I was about 5 or 6 when she died but I remember my best friend’s older sisters absolutely loved her, and I can see why. She was beautiful inside and out 🥰
that’s how i feel…i was born a couple years after her death and somehow, this loss has carved a slash in my heart. she’s deeply, dearly missed.

I've been a HUGE Selena fan for over 25 years, and even though I never got to meet her, I DID meet her father, her sister, and her sister's husband when I visited Corpus Christi with my mom and dad back in 2011. They were so humble and down to earth, and made us feel like they'd known us forever. It was an incredible experience!

I love how real she was. she didn’t take herself too seriously or try to be someone she wasn’t. she was honest and genuine, and she was always cracking jokes and laughing. she treated everyone like a friend she’d known her whole. I feel like I know her even though I never met her. that quality is so so rare to find in people.

It's a Spanish Soap Opera. Similar to Soaps in English but they typically last 6 months-a year, not on forever.
Basically a verry dramatic spanish tv show that puts out a New episode everyday monday-friday. It's typically a one season thing that lasts a couple months but sometimes gets spin offs and stuff depending on how good the show does. They're verry dramatic and petty and have verry dramatic shit happen in basically every episode lol
Also, telenovelas typically air at night, whereas American soaps are a daytime thing.
Incidentally, Selena guest-starred several times as a fictional version of herself in the hit Mexican telenovela "Dos mujeres, un camino" ("Two Women, One Road"). It also starred Erik Estrada ('Ponch' from "CHiPs").

We all know the saying, "Nobody's perfect", but I believe those who had the privilege of meeting Selena would've said otherwise. She was indeed the perfect woman. Talented, smart, loyal, beautiful, quirky, and hilariously funny. That woman literally took away an angel when she did what she did. Decades later, and it's still hard to fathom what transpired that tragic afternoon.
A girlfriend who is all smiles like that is definitely goals. Chris was the luckiest man.
