I'd love to see (& mostly hear) the Drifter split some big rounds😂👍💪🪓💙 I heard one of our PA weatherman say one time, that it was so humid you had to chew the air before you could breathe it, lol sometimes it does feel that way here… definitely not my favorite part about Pennsylvania .....God Bless you Buckin ✝️☮️
I love spitting wood with an axe. It just feels so good to me. My body just doesn't. An that heat is terrible. My hats off to all that has to work out in the heat. Alabama loves Buckin videos.
Nice tutorial! Some wood is so twisted even for the log splitter is hard to splitt! I split a 3 ton of eucalyptus and some of that wood are so twisted, oh dear, the splitter have to use all of is capacity to split it!
Another great educational video! I'm having an ash and a spruce taken down next month and want to have some left over for my firepit. This will save me some money and my back and shoulder! Cheers!

Thats a great clip on how to dissect your blocks, especially with the huge gnarly knots. Alot more satisfying too,and you get to burn that knot noise!🪓❤️
I hate summer here in Pennsylvania. I wish it would skip from spring to fall. If it's not the humidity that gets you in the summer, it's the bugs... Worst splitting would I've dealt with was this summer trying to split some dead blue spruce. I swear there's a knot every 4"...
I just wanted to pop in and say good morning Buckin'. I know this was yesterday's video, but I figured I would say hi to you. Just give a bit of gratitude before today's video comes out.😊
Always been jealous of the northerhemisphere wood species, just splits so nice. In Australia, most of our tree species have interlocking grain that makes it so much harder to split. We also have the humidity
Yeah they call those very larger bushes in northwestern PA , “Laurel” . I have a cabin in McKean Co. PA in northwest PA. AKA, the Laurel Highlands. I’m 15 miles south of Bradford, PA.
That is the only problem with the summers here in PA. The humidity is nuts! Next time stay longer bud. There is a lot of beauty and history here. Thanks for the content brother!
I'm in the Arkansas Ozarks, we got oak and hickory. Some of it ain't too bad to split, but there are some buggers, we use a wedge and sledge if it's too bad.
G'day Buckin and friends, watching you struggle to pull those two pieces of wood apart I wondered is that how the mortise and tenon join was accidentally discovered by a carpenter splitting wood way back when 🤔.
The absolute worst logs i have ever split was a small pick up load of "gifted" willow logs from a friend apparently he sold a trailer of unions to somebody else, i think he is still splitting them to this day. I was using a splitting maul and would sink the maul an inch and a half deep somtimes and wouldnt split the logs it was not a fun time worst part is they burn like paper! great workout atleast!
Why am i here watching? I am a novice (just got my first chainsaw) and want to get to learn how to use it, care for it, and care for myself (and others around me) when cutting wood. Living Down Under, the wood/climate is v-e-r-y different, but the techniques are common.
I split the bottom 12 feet of the tree like the Abe Lincoln used to split rails I cut it in half use a wedges to crack it right down the middle and then cut it with a chainsaw when they’re big makes it easier to pick up and load
New to me, got a dead leaning oak I’m going to have to use a rope and come-along on. Wow buddy, fun huh. Anyway big guy love your program. God bless. (Old guy from Arkansas)🇺🇸
Hey,Steven, not trying to tell ya what to do but when you are cutting down that dead oak make sure you look up at the top a lot. I have a friend who was a professional logger that was cutting down an oak tree and a very large limb snapped out of the top of the tree from the vibration of the saw cutting into the tree and the branch came down on top of him and broke his neck. He lived, thank God but now he is a quadriplegic. Dead oak trees are notorious for dead limbs breaking loose and coming down on top of the logger. Again, not trying to tell ya what to do but Id hate for something bad to happen to ya. Be safe and God bless.
@@papaduck2443 hey thanks for the advice, I’ve recently bought a few things to help me such as a good bull rope a Wyeth come-along some wedges and pulleys, I was just going to hook a rope up to the truck to pull but after seeing some videos I thought the come-along better. I’ll sure look up a lot. Any advice we’ll appreciated. God bless y’all.
@@jopsball-turret6969 I've tried hand splitting fresh pine. It's sappy and doesn't want to split well. That wood sounded dry when it split. That's why I asked.
My chickens were attacked and killed. Same month I lost my dog. Two months later my dad passed away. Lost the house because the mortgage company wouldn’t let me assume the load. Promised my dad I would care for his dog after he passed away. I couldn’t leave a dog in a truck while I work miserable work for 13 hour shifts in a factory. So… spent every cent paying for a hotel room. As much as I want to wish my life was perfect… it’s not. My truck is breaking down and I have no family or friends to help. Perfection is a bit hard to find at the moment. I appreciate the attempt tho. 🙏

Your love for splitting wood is contagious. My back just won’t allow me to do much of it but it is very rewarding. Watch that shoulder my friend. ♥️
Nice seeing you back in the keystone state. Always enjoy when can watch you cut in my home woods. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the visit
It's the same in SC. It's not the heat it's the humility. It's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way lol.
Great tutorial on splitting PNW fir! That axe is a performing laser beam! Looking good in the eastern hardwood hills of Penn!
Thanks for the education…i actually knew this one but there are a lot of people out there who seriously lack common sense.👍👍
Your way made splitting up this oak a whole lot easier!
If you don't take care of your equipment it won't take care of you
My dad used to tell me that all the time 😊

I just finished splitting a bunch of locust that was full of knots. Had to use the maul to get through most of it.

Hi, come out to Australia and try splitting our hardwood, you swing a axe and it bounces off, look up ironbark ..

How do you feel about chains with solid alloy solders from Stihl ? Why don 't you use it ? You need to sharpen such chains only on a diamond disc

Looking for Full Time Work .
What is the reason for cutting such thin slices with the saw?
Speak not of humidity! 😝😓 I know all about it. Wisconsin had it and Tennessee does, too.
How are the ol shoulders feeling buckin'? Hope youre feeling good.
On rounds with knots just fire up the saw and noodle it. Done...
Onto the next
Where and when is Bunion ? Sure would like to attend 😊
Look up Paul Bunyan show. Think it's October 6-8 Guernsey county fairgrounds in Ohio

Use a log splitter
How seasoned is the wood you're splitting in this video?
It’s fresh and pitchy. Splits nicely that way

12:38 you’re knot.
Is that considered a maul and you are calling it an axe or is it still just an axe ?
How can I buy an ax from you? I really want to work with him, he is impressive.
I don't have much that will split like your wood. Stop by. See you in ohio.
