Anyone else binge watching these? Should be a movie.
Doing it right now.
Home sick with the flu, binge watching these. Awesome
@@PUBHEAD1 Same here. Though I'm not sure if it's normal flu on my end. Got some extra wacky symptoms
Ikean Crusader Uh oh. This did not age well. You patient 0 for COVID-19?
Yep, watching this late at night rn, have a case of covid 19 tho:/
MacReady: I don't know how many damn times I gotta prove I'm clean,my thumb gonna fall off soon enough
Childs: it's just a precaution man you should be more aware of that than anyone.
MacReady: Good point
- blood jumps from container
MacReady: shit
hahaha :)
This was good until they arrived to the jungle. Once the creature leaves the frigid artic and comes to a tropical weather it can infect anything and everything. Birds, insects, mammals and spread.
There is the theory that the thing requires a certain mass to infect others. If infection was really so simple, when it was still a dog it could have gone around nibbling the fingers of the crew, or generated a proboscis to break the skin and assimilated them all before they even had the opportunity to understand its nature.
Could it be that we are all the thing but we suffer from a flaw which makes us believe we are human, until something is set off awakening the things abilities thus removing our deceptive shell. Think about it.. it's like the zombie virus in walking dead. Everyone is infected but it only shows when a human is killed, ie from an infected bite, overdose of pills (as stated in the game) head cut off (hershal) or really anything that can kill us allows it to make our bodies turn. ... scary
This comic series is enjoyable but let's be honest now: the Thing should've already won.
The whole idea was that the Thing's ability to reproduce easily was being countered by the antarctican climate, all the cold and snow and there being no living organisms around other than the men of the station. That's what stopped it from spreading.
But this? C'mon now. It's a whole freakin jungle. Thousands of insects, animals, and organisms to infect. The Thing won the moment it left the frozen wastelands of the first setting. No need to go after any human or seeking for radio help or anything, just infect the jungle and spread from there.
Mant111 yeah
But it probably wanted to get rid of its biggest threat first
@@thetowerofbabble6307 the things biggest threat was the fact that it encompassed enough space that it could be destroyed with a single nuke once it spreads far enough that it can't be burned there is no threat to it
@@FrancisR420 It makes sense. The Thing assimilates humans, get their intel, knows about the Nukes, so the Thing might be thinking: "Oh Shit, here we go again."
Even the flora are made of cell's able to be infected like our own
this comic is absolutely terrifying in concept, if you even touch the thing, IT OWNS YOU!!!
truly... terrifying...
have you even seen the movie yet! its god dam terrifying
Yea. Usually with horror creatures there is a way around the “infection”. Vampires(with most versions) you have to willingly submit to be turned. Zombies, you just have to avoid being bitten(or scratched in some cases). But John Carpenter said fuck all that....if you even touch my.....THING, it’s over for you. Beat that lol
reminds me of Gravemind and the flood from hale... the lore itself and not the game mechanics lol
Yep
Alex Daile it owns you? Lol 😂
Okay so I've noticed that a lot of people dislike the idea of the Thing being in the jungle for the fact that it just ultimately won instead of being in an environment with nearly no life. I have a theory (still a rough draft though) that the Thing might actually have an objective: wipe out other intelligent life. Yes, it's obvious that this creature can assimilate anything and acquire their intellect and characteristics. But think, while small pieces of it rely on instinct, larger versions are incredibly smart. Maybe it's priority is to get rid of whatever is at the top of the food-chain, then assimilate its way down from there. Then that brings the question: Why not just infect the other organisms and spread from there? Well... maybe this Thing has a personal vendetta with the humans after the research station incidents since we know how to kill it, how it works, and how it lives. Just a theory though
The fact that if it separates itself small enough and losses it's intelligence it might not be too keen on actually escaping or even if it is it might not know how
did we all forget that The Thing also killed the radio crew on the Argentinian camp in Antartica? That means by now that whole camp is assimilated
John Edmunds good point, hopefully it's all taken care of lol
Such an underrated channel
Thanks LowrdUzaki! You are the best :)

He's got that rating now and I'm very happy he does. This shit is top notch content and I love it
I'm now thinking of The Thing tv series.
That's like 3 concussions in 3 days for the Sarge XD
These comic are fun, but no where up to the level of the writing of the original film. The second the thing would have come in contact with a temperate climate it would have been all over. The creature would have assimilated every organism, from the microscopic to insects to small animals. Maybe even plant life. There is no containing it where there's abundant life.
I think what the thing was trying to do in the garage is make itself into some kind of living plane. We forget that just because it is savage and a merciless killer it can be extremely intelligent.
Tommithy Mcwatterson Jr. what the fuck are you smoking it can’t make living air crafts.
Mac! Mac!! MAAACC!!!!!!
Wait if they were worried about an infected person handing out needles and scalpels then why didn't they just have the person who suggested the needles and scalpels test themselves first then they would be sure that the needles aren't infected and you could even have that person do the test on other people
I'm surprised that more people were suspicious of the person wanting the test them the people who refuse the test
I know this is old but did anybody notice the color use in 2:04 where Dr. Desaedo was red while everyone else was orange. Maybe I'm looking to much into this but the minute I saw this panel I Automatically thought it was the doctor simply because of this color scheme.
Child’s is like the human version of the thing in this comics lol you think his dead but always comes back to save Mac haha
Lmfao childs is ducking immortal
childs is dead that's not him no one survived that submarine crash but mac
@@beardeddragongaming2382 Third time surviving is pretty damn sus XD
That thingy bastard got Mac! Or mayhaps Mac got him? Maaaaac noooo!
Good narration along with the music. Increases the creepy factor.
6:56: kinda looks like a Talon creature from Shadow Warrior 2
This is getting good
TY
I having a sense of deja vu
I love these video's it like watching a third the thing movie
6:55 is this like an easter egg to xenomorph? because that thing looks almost like a xenomorph-thing
These stories are good, but I'd have bumped Mac off and have new characters pass on the information rather than turn him into Ripley.
When I watch this I immediately think of carnage [symbiote from marvel] but with shape shifting power
Good god how many of these are there
Please please please finish this series
They could just cut themselves with wood or paper..Plenty of trees and books,around..Also they could put one of the fingers in the fire, they dont even have to actually do it,as long as every1 agrees, the Thing will never agree
The reason why they use blood and not a different part of the body to do the test is because the smaller the thing organism the less smart. A finger, being connected to a body would mean a more intelligent thing, one that wouldnt reveal itself by reacting to the test.
Need more
Man after watching all of your The Thing videos I started seeing illusion. Must be because of all of your videos are scrolling down.
5:42 that's the craziest kill I have ever seen
I just want an extended Thing universe now 😂
Why is the chapter order all mixed up in the playlist?
WAIT WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE HELL!? Child's!? But but how!? O_O *Dun dun duuuuuuun*
August 17 2017. Need the next one I gotta know what happens
What happened to the rest of the series I want more
Oh Childs you lucky dog
No one:
MacReady: OMAEOWAMOSHINDERU
Dammit....I was prepared to finally go to sleep after this one...but how in the name of fuck can I after THAT ending.....sigh.....one more it is....
cool but how did agapito get his arm back?
WHAT THE FUCK you're right
Omg…imma bout to assimilate!!!!
Well, story is nice, but McReady looks like Rambo in this. Ok he was cool in the movie but this is really too much xD
Ha, Childs and McReady are not infected but they got a common point with that thing : they can't really die ^^
Havent finish the vid but i guess mac died or the one who is infected and kill everyone
Does the thing assimilate plant matter? If so, it’s game over
All it has to do is assimilate the grass and spread.
9:00 way too deep
Among us be like:
Did he give up on this series? Lol
I'm disliking the setting and the Spanish used by those Argentinians. The Spanish phrases that they're using is commonly used in the Caribbean. Argentinians are mostly white, not brown and that camp is supposed to be in the south of Argentina which I doubt that there is jungle there. That means the comic company didn't even cared to do some basic research.
From the art to the writing, it looks like Dark Horse were into cutting costs more than accurate representation.
Just look at how badly the soldiers are written. They let themselves *FALL ASLEEP* with *NO GUARD POSTED* while there's a Thing about. Then when one of their crew acts weird and gets shot, they bury him instead of testing the body.
Soldiers like these are why nobody remembers Jorge Rafael Videla.
Richard Maloney I agree. Argentine soldiers are well trained.
After the submarine issue, the Thing comics took a big nose dive.
Your intro is kinda long dude, can you please shorten it?
Hey mate the intro has been removed on the newer videos. Nothing I can do about the older ones im afraid
FilmComicsExplained hey man great work on all of your videos. Random question, what is the song that you use at the beginning of your videos?
Or you can just deal with it.
