Love all your videos! Thank you for recommending Koch Chemie 3 stage kit...I just finished doing my 2017 Buick Lacrosse and it came out fantastic. I am really hoping you could do a video on how to fix interior trim. I'm referring to the *fake wood panels used in so many cars. The area next to my shifter peeled some of the clear coat out of nowhere and now looks very bad. I'd love to see a video on how to remove it and reapply a new clear coat on the trim instead of spending a lot of money buying a new one.
Hi, is 5 layer of ceramic coating better than 3 layer?
@Forensic Detailing Channel, Very curious what product has achieved the highest score ever on your gloss measuring tool? Or if you have a video on the subject, I'm just looking for a product that leaves the most powerful gloss whether it be a wax, polish ceramic or whatever.. thanks!
Great demo. One thing I find slightly confusing as autoglym's product range grows is how their products work with each other. Lifeshine. Extra gloss protection, polar, seal ceramic coating. It would be useful for them to have an infographic showing which products compliment each other and which ones to use instead.
Absolutely agree. At this point, I think that Autoglym is focusing on releasing products and possibly ignoring the correlation between previous products and new products.
i love the fact autoglym has a full line of product....makes life so easy sticking with 1 brand, and looks great on shelf.
Keeping us detailers happy during lockdown by pumping out the content, cheers Jon
Been waiting on this review Jon, cheers once again 👍
Already done my car, it looks great, very happy with it.
Great Video the level of detail and effort you put into your vids is amazing, i love them thank you :)
great review Jon! ....stay safe my friend
Thanks again Jon, nice comprehensive test with what appears to be good results.
Great review mate 👌. I love Autoglym stuff and glad to see they have entered the Ceramic Coating realm. Maybe once my Gtechnic needs redoing I can give it a go. The Lance look quality too!! Top video, really enjoyed this one.
Good review Jon , very well explianed , only doing quick weekly wash at the moment . Short trip to work and dry roads. Keep up the great content and stay safe :)
I've been using the Polar Blaster for the last month with different makes of snow foam, and so far it's given brilliant results with all of them. I also have an old garden hose foam gun that i've never used, but the bottle is exactly the same so that was a good result too 👍👍
So appreciative of your videos, fantastic
Outstanding informative video Jon.
Fantastic, loved learning about your summing up, ceramic or something else? So interesting!
Brilliant video. Really appreciate the honest talk.
Always enjoy these videos, great work! I've enjoyed the beading and longevity of CarPro Lite, I do prefer however the enjoyment of applying good waxes with the warmth pop. Would be good to see more on waxes that are "safe" to use on top of a si02 ceramic coating
Great review
Cool, this was the company got me started in detailing. Good to see they improving their range.
Loved the reccomended Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax in one of your other uploads Jon. AMAZING STUFF... Stunned by how little product goes such a long way. Applied same way u did
Absolutely spot on THANK YOU VERY MUCH JON 👍👍... KEEP UP YOUR HARD WORK AND FANTASTIC UPLOADS.😉👍👍👍
Great Review! New to detailing and just found your channel. Thanks for all the great information. I am in the US and would really like to see you do a video about cleaning door jambs and seals. Thanks again for sharing all of your knowledge
Great review keep up the good work
Lovely Jubbly, enjoyed that video.
Im big into car cleaning and I'd love to use a ceramic but I have no way of guaranteeing the car stays dry for 4 hours (best I can do is checking the weather report) or keeping airborne dust off for 24 hours and I'm not sure most enthusiasts can. Its for that reason they're out of reach me. I'm surprised Autoglym have gone this route.
Another great vid Jon, thanks.
I’m the same mate, I’ve done it before and it was a headache. Genuinely enjoy applying and removing a nice wax, easier and less pressure from the clouds above.
Great videos as always 👍. Have you reviewed Shine armor quick coat? As so many ads for it online. Keep up the great work
Another great review Jon, Im with you regarding the applicators and Amazon do 2 for £8.80 and if you have prime its free next day delivery which I think thats a great price. Keep up thr stella work Bud.
great video. clear and simple to understand. Thanks.
Very informative John. Cheers 👍. I’ll be buying the foam lance as a replacement for my old one. 👍
Good review. I luv autoglym stuff, bought all of the polar range and it's awesome. Got the uhd wax to try at some point too
Looks like a good and easy to use product with an acceptable price. The range of coatings to choose from becomes bigger by the day🤔. These reviews are really useful to decide which one to go for, so many thanks !!
Another informative video Jon. I have always used autoglym products for their ease of use. I would give this a try. I am haemorrhaging money with all these products reviews you’ve been doing recently.
Great video mate. Very honest.
Excellent presentation. So much better than anything from across the pond. I am simply an amateur, but have spent considerable time this year getting my cars up to shine with autoglym products. So if I do get the car I am after at auction, I will buying this ceramic stuff.
Great as always
I've got that flask , 3 years old still going strong
Great video mate
Yes Jon the applicators can be bought separately. Thanks again and keep them coming
Great review! 👍🏼 I’ve just managed to pick this up for £35. Yet to try it. But nice to hear it’s great stuff.
That´s a good idea to make a video on different foam lances. Keep it up mate :D
Sorry only watched this now, but what a brilliant detailed video. Thanks
What I find with Autoglym is that before release of a product it goes through a shelf life experiment so that once bought it will last unlike a lot of other brands. I have used all Autoglym products to date and have not been disappointed with any of them. Great scientific review as always.
Exactly right: Autoglym products are easy to use, practically impossible to mis-use, and if you follow the instructions you get the promised result ! That's why AG has been my favourite for 30 years. Started polishing the family car when I was 15 :-)
I do love a good bit of packaging. It gives you a good first impression of the item you've just got and i feel it just adds to the overall experience
Many thanks for review, just one question, could this be double layered?
Mr Complete ......... covers every detail 👍
So finally got to use the HD AUTOGLYM wax all I can say is wow 🤩
its a great wax isnt it. cures to a lovely soft crust which buffs well.. doesnt matter how long you leave it , its always easy to buff. Looks good, decent durability. its a great wax.
Your a legend mate keep it up
Great review! Think I’d rather go for carpro Cquartz lite over this! I will say, was really impressed with the polar blaster lance but totally agree they should of put the measurements on the bottle. Cheers for keeping it real 🤟🏼
I have to agree that the thing autoglym get right is that their products deliver good results and are easy to use for the average Joe with an average car. If like me you like to keep your car looking decent they are perfect for that.
Good review John , I think I'll be sticking with UHD Wax which I have to say is the best wax I've ever used plus it beads like any ceramic ive ever seen providing you maintain it
Agreed I've used their old hd wax and now use they uhd wax my favourite wax I've got
Great review, always loved Autoglym used them or years. I've never used ceramic coatings before always been a wax man and just wondered as I don't have a garage can I apply this coating outside or am I better sticking with wax?
Hi Jon ,another great video review. I use AQ convertible soft top clean & protect kit are there any other products out there you'd recommend for use on a fabric soft top and would you consider doing a comparison video sometime in the future ? Keep up the great work and keep safe.
Awesome video! It would be interesting to see this ceramic coating go up agains the carpro uk edition 3.0
Good morning excellent video
I love autoglym products, my friends say i should move away from them but I’m not going to. How long protection would you get if i put
the wax on top of ceramic please
Thanks Matt
Thank you John
Would know can you apply this coating on top of can coat
I prefer the Ultra HD Wax you know where you stand and get more cars out of it brilliant video
Really like your video's very helpful for someone like me that just loves a clean car. I always use AutoGlym products they are so easy to use and you can not fail. Following this video i may give the polar range a go and try the HD stuff. Just one question my car is coated with GuardX and then polished, how best to take off all the polish before using the polar range followed by the HD products?
Did a one stage correction on my Range Rover, Lucerne Green, though actually looks more blue than green but that could be me. Then used the cleanser and ceramic coating and still only used about 50%. Really easy to use, economical I think and very pleased with the results. See how long it lasts but so far a winner. Three companies I tend to stick with, Bilt Hamber, Autoglym and Sonax for chemicals.
Great review, next purchase for me,
I recently purchased the Polar range inc the Polar Blaster and as a system they really work well and are simple to use for a quick clean in between full detailing.
I bought the snow foam Lance the other day and I am equally impressed with it! The foam is very thick as you mentioned but I did struggle to get around the whole of my 3 series touring with one load in but could of been me going slow. Totally agree too about not having measurement lines on it, very annoying but I have just done the same as you and Mark on the bottle! I got mine direct from autoglym and it was £35 for the Lance and foam liquid.
Hi John just a quick one can I mix and match autoglym and meguiars as I have both products cheers great channel
Great content as always Jon. What are your thoughts of the liquid clay as a fall out remover?
it works and it has 2 strengths, 1 its low odour (which is more expensive) and 2 if it drys it seems to form a cream which washes off nice so its a bit more sun safe. But its not as powerfull or fast reacting as korrosol, nothing it.. but its also a bit cheaper than korrosol at 30 quid for 5 litres.. so yer its worth a look if you want one that does smell so bad.
@@ForensicDetailing thank you Jon. Much appreciated 👍
Got the AG snow foam lance as my first one from Halfords on a good deal. Obviously got nothing to compare it too as I’m just starting out but I’m very happy with it!
Had ceramic coat applied to my Saab Aero convertible - didn’t look great after sitting outside in Lancashire weather after six months 😂 returned to Collinite insulator wax - best I have ever used ! Another good oldie is Simoniz is gold tin - tough to apply but shines and protects really well
Yes Jon!
17:45 did u just do a wee 🤣🤣
Hi Jon, love your channel and practical guidance. Any chance on you doing a review on a brand called Pro-Kleen it is competitively priced product and just wondered with your knowledge whether it offers good value and if it is actually anygood?
Thanks for another great review Jon.
I'm stuck on the fence personally. I dont have a garage but would love to put a ceramic coating on my new car when I finally get it.
To that end I was thinking of this combo:
- Tac Systems Total One Essential to prep after polishing
- Gyeon Can Coat
- Tac Systems Shinee Wax as a topper
Do you think that would be a decent combo that I could get away with doing outside on a still, dry day?
Or should i just chat up some local body shops and see if i can use some of their garage space for a day if i chuck them a few crates of beer?
Good review....A very complete package from a trusted brand. I like Autoglym product but went to Turtlewax for a ceramic solution. The Autoglym package seems to give a really good "how to" guide.
Firstly a great video, thankyou.Have purchased this Autoglym product and after all the preparation work etc applied the product as per instructions provided by Autoglym Easy to apply now waiting on the 4Hrs curing minimum time but due to the bad weather today will be at least 24Hrs wait.I'm sure it will be a great product just a little costly but you don't get anything thats good cheaply.
Sam’s detailing come packaged well
Hi Jon. Good video. I personally love Autoglym products and think nobody can actually say bad things about them. In portuguese we have a saying that is :"When a team is winning, dont touch it" and I think this is more or less Autoglym philosophy. They know their products are good and that they deliver a lot so just keep it like that.
Better "less" and good than "a lot" and not that big deal.
Keep up the good stuff mate.
Regards
John what waxes do you recomend for satin finishes with a ceramic coating
I'm interested in this product. I'm likely to use in on two of our e class taxis. The price is good too genuine ceramic coats can go from £90 to £180. Keep up the goof work. Love and peace x
Great review 👏 thanks for going into such detail makes decisions much clearer for my car .... going to try the ceramic tho I have been told if water dries on panel it will leave water marks that are a bit difficult to get out compared to a wax finish..... what's your thoughts with this ?
Just must not let water dry while it's curing. M8. Use a ceramic detailer to stop this
What is your opinion on the polar wash and do you recommend any other product for the foam + rinse bucket method
What song was your intro song as it’s quite Catchy and good video once again Jon keeping us entertained and informed in this my sharonavirus lockdown
Egyptian cotten
A good product John yes expensive but looks good and lasts.Another good video
Halfords sell the applicator as a pack of two for £9
Search for “precise polish applicator” or “iron applicator” on eBay
It’s nice to have an edge when you are applying around windows and trim. They’re nice enough. But any applicator with a straight edge will give you that. E.g. German applicator cut in half.
Are they the same as for UHD Ceramic coat? I was told by AG Norway that they don't sell separate.
Can you apply spray wax or some other detailing spray on top of the ceramic coating?
Wax over ceramic, great review. Thanks
A question for you I have ceramic coating on my car for two years how do I get rid if I won't to re polish my car. thanks
The AG polish applicator is available to buy separately or in a pack of 2.
They also come in the SRP gift pack/kit with a bottle of SRP and 2 red microfibres. I think i paid £14 at the time because i figured that the polish applicator and microfibres were worth £9 and SRP easily worth £5
Awesome video John. I'd be interested to see how this compares to Extra Gloss Protection. Based on what you're saying - with the mineral spirit smell etc - it sounds like it might actually be related to EGP.
is the coating still active on the grey VW ?
I use this product on wheels. brake dust no longer collects. Its life is probably shorter due to heat and dirt, but it is really easy to apply on wheels.
Love your channel. I am torn between using Armour Shield IX and Car Pro CQuartz UK 3.0, topped with SIC as a ceramic coating. Which would you choose?
I think I would go with carpro mate.
A good Ceramic Coating, also works great when you have to restore/polish your headlights.
Can you reuse the applicator and cloths supplied or will they be trashed after coating the first car
Top channel jon just a quick one where did you get that black 5 tier freestanding shelves from need something like that in my garage 👍🏻👍🏻
Ebay mate. was many years ago but theres tons of sellers its dirt cheap
Nice video Jon. Glad yoy addressed the elephant in the room with the plastic bottles! Might be jumping to conclusions but I suspect this isn't a full blown ceramic coating, especially with the poor hydrophobics. I really do need to get myself some of that carpro lite 👍
As you say Jon, it surprises me how slow Auto Glym are to keeping up with the market contenders given how big an organisation they are. Bit Marmite with some of their products although the Polar range has certainly shown they’re stepping up their game.
Hi. I’ve been subscribing to your channel for quite a while now and find it fascinating to watch. I wonder if you can advise me please. I had my car coated about a year ago and used to have regular maintenance washes by the installer. He has moved countries, so I purchased all the gear to do it myself. The problem I’ve have had is after washing using snow foam, wash and then drying (Autoglym products), I wanted to top up the coating so I used TW hybrid ceramic spray coating. I followed the instruction and tried on a panel. The result was awful. It left a misty film that just wouldn’t come off. I tried various micro fibre clothes which reduced the effect but it’s still not perfect. Have I done something wrong?? The bonnet was a bit warm to the touch but it wasn’t sunny just warm air temperature. Any help would be appreciated.
How many different numbers and abbreviations of words and product numbers are rattling round in Jon’s head
it must be like neo from the matrix
So much knowledge love the channel and sister channel thank you so much for all your hard work and computing brain power
Hey Jon - how are you mate? Lovely video again - do you offer a detailing service with Ceramic coating also - I'm not far away anhd would love you to bring the M140i to its best! Cheers, Nick
Hi John can you apply/remove the hd wax with a da machine or is it purely hand apply only.
I got a decent level of product on the accord type r and the brothers crz and that was as much as you will get out of it (did an amazing job for sure)
I noticed you sprayed under the hood. Have you made a vid dedicated to engine shampoo? I’m nervous about blasting my hose at the engine, lest I get water in parts where water should not be. Many thanks.
Can you use all fallout remover as clay lube Iv got prokleen
