Another great video review. What makes these videos work so well is that there is no superfluous waffle. They are clear, easy to understand, and very informative.
Thought I'd say your vids are excellent. I was in homebase paying at the tills and got talking to this guy who saw me get out of my black 5 series earlier on. He wanted to know how I manage to keep the paint work looking like a mirror. I told him I always follow the advice of Mr forensic detailing 😀
thanks for the kind works ammo bee appreciate it.. great to hear the 5 series is looking good
Very informative clear and concise! I will be purchasing this👍
Another great video John. Really informative as always. I bought the HD wax last Sept & was pleased with it but from the sounds of things AG have stepped up on that wax significantly. I'll be using Fusso this year based on your previous recommendation purely for its hydrophobic qualities however I'll be testing this product out down the line. Keep up the great work. Cheers Mark 👍🏻
Brilliant video. I have acquired this product after this. Thank you for your insight👍
Excellent as always Jon and the results looked top notch. Looks like Autoglym have hit a home run with this one. Watching the way it cures and buffs off, reminds me of the Finishkare 2685 and Britemax Vantage waxes, they apply and buff exactly the same.
Brilliant in depth review Jon, results look incredible as does the wax
Really good and interesting videos. I am going to be using this product for the 1st time today looking forward to see the final outcome
Love your vids mate, keep them coming👍
Brilliant review Jon. Love the comedy too "Pure Autoglym Hater. There are a few of them out there!!"😂😂
I so enjoy your watching your channel Jon and the knowledge that you impart to others. I bought the Ultra high definition wax and tried it today. My car is 38 years old and I would polish by hand, that is until I took your advice and bought a Rupes bigfoot 15 polisher. My heart was in my mouth the first time I used it. Within minutes I was comfortable with it. I therefore polished then applied the wax. My car has never looked this good, the car is now a mirror finish. If you tell me how I can upload a picture for you I will be delighted to do so. I have also bought Bilt Hamber and Angel wax products due to your recommendation. I can't thank you enough for all your advice to a novice like myself. All the very best and regards.
hey gorden, really nice message thanks so much for that. awesome to hear you got good results. you can send any pictures to rover8200@hotmail.com or the forensic detailing channel on facebook, would be great to see the car... cheers JD
Great video, really interesting listening to what you had to say! I have a pot of High Definition Wax that is just lasting forever, so I won’t be able to buy the Ultra HD wax any time soon as it would be a shame to waste 3/4 of a pot considering how much it cost! Glad you mentioned about the flakes of wax indicating you are applying too much as I had that problem and thought it was because the car was still dirty after wash and polish so will try to apply less by keeping my applicator wetter!
At last a detailer who goes to another level..very informative..
Good review you obviously have specialist knowledge I’ve always used autoglym products and having just bought a brand new car will be giving it a go
I'm so glad this stuff started popping up in Canada, I just wish we had the entire line up here, so much good stuff.
Awesome wax leaves the deepest shine I’ve experienced applicator done need to be dampened several times, picked it up for £36 from Halfords with 1l of uhd shampoo and in a nice quality zip up bag 👍🏼 great honest review
Very truthful review I use it regularly combine with the hd shampoo keeps my white beast looking good
Hi john i use the ultra hd wax to day on my fathers van and it is red it is great to use and made the red paint pop and a great shine so ill do my own car with it next weekend buy the way i love your chanel great work.
Great video, purchased some of this wax after seeing your review, would not have trusted myself with it otherwise.
Good review. Only thing I’d add is that important to polish the car in advance of using the HD wax. I started to use it on a brand new VW Beetle straight from the showroom and was shocked at how pitted and stained the paintwork was deep down - obviously spent months outside in the Mexico sun I reckon. I started over with a polish (Mir in blue bottle, my favourite) to clean the car first and remove the rough pitted spots. Then when properly cleaned, I applied the Autoglym HD and was well pleased.
Hey dude great review as always what do u think compared to Fusso ? Currently got colinite 845 on..
Nice video. I bought this but have yet to apply it. I also bought the Autoglym UHD Shampoo.
Will that be enough to maintain the wax or do I also need a safe QD? I don't want to apply anything over the wax to spoil the finish. Thanks
Looks very good! Thanks for the review. I have the High Definition Wax and love it so much! Very pleasant and easy to apply. Recently I use mainly the Soft99 12M but hate the smell, not pleasant to use... This new one can be a good alternative :-)
Great stuff jon.execellent information.i do agree with what you said, autoglym will sell loads of ultra HD wax.
You must of read my mind. Se this advertised and thought I'll wait until John does a review.
I used this last week and am over the moon with it. I washed the car a few days later and as good as new
Nice review. The original hd wax was my 1st “higher” end wax.
great review arrived just at the right time for me iv been trying a lot of waxes mainly cheaper ones on my car and noticed im re applying ever 1-2 washes wanted something decent that i know can last this review nailed it for me unfortunately halfords aint stocking it near me at the moment or it just hasn't arrived as yet guess i'll have to persevere with what i have for now.
Loving your videos, thanks.
Nice review Jon. I'm a big fan of R222, it brings my ultimate black Jag up a treat. However I'm always looking for better results. I've seen you praise R222 on previous reviews so how do you think this new product compares?
Recently got a pot, applied twice to my car. What a joy to use, goes on and comes off so so easily. Great depth of shine/gloss too
Jon, I just put down a layer of Gyeon Q2 Flourine Wax. What a Peach to buff, it also was lovely to spread over the panels. I have had NO ghosting, which has been a big problem for me with other waxes. Thanks for recomending that product for me, i enjoy putting down a nice layer of protection. Also the paint is seriously slick to the touch, possibly the slickest ive ever felt..cant wait to see the hydrophbiditiity later.
its a really sweet wax dave, durability is 2-3 months but its so easy to apply and buff its nice to put more on. or top it with wet coat.
Smart packaging easy to put on after watching your video little to no effort to take off bought on you recommendation thanks john best wishes ian
I’m glad Autoglym released the ULTRA High Definition Wax. 1080p doesn’t really cut it anymore these days, does it?
hehe :)
Next step: 8k uhd wax😁
It does an incredible job. Definatly the best Wax out there, I'Ve use it in conjuction with Super Resin Polish
@@Marko_Horvat a year after i tried it but the buffer takes ages even with a good connection speed.
Math Barnio does it enhance the shine and water bead when used with super resin ?
Good informative video thanks buddy, gonna buy some
Hello. Great video once again. That product color is kind of same with collinite 915, which was my favourite carnauba wax before i found the world of ceramic coatings.
I have Svisswax Shield. And I can say that buffing that off is so satisfying. It comes right off. So if this wax is much the same buffing off, you gonna love working with that product.
shield is soft and light as well yer. swissvax know how to blend a wax. It feels a bit like shield in terms of removal but even lighter and drier.
Hiya just seen your video I've just machine polisherd my car about to apply this hd wax from autoglym will it still need a ceramic coating I've got some gyeon Wetcoat any help would be most greatfull
I've always liked AG products, despite them occasionally seeming to fall behind the times but I'm looking forward to using this one when the current pot of HD wax runs out, oh and maybe the one the Mrs got me for Xmas too 😉
Hi john
With the autoglym hd wax and ultra hd wax can they both be layered and does it add depth each time i add a layer? Cheers julian from Australia
I’ve ordered some Scholl S20, CG green hex pads on your recommendation and wondering what wax would go best with that? The BH Double Speed or Shinee? So much choice it gets confusing. Figure I’ll order a finishing pad too and machine the wax on too.
Defiantly getting some of this!! If I use meguires ceramic detail spray as a clay lube can I put this wax over the top? Cheers
Hi John, old vid i know.. You mention UHD wax being compatible with SRP.. Do you know if regular HD wax is also compatible? I guess if its a cleaner wax (and im not sure if it is) it would pull out SRP. Cheers from Australia
Following your video I treated my car to a clay, polish and wax. So easy to use, really effortless. About 6 weeks now and still looking good.
Hi again I have finally finished machine compound and polishing my silver ford fiesta ST. I have done 5 panels but I forgot to dampen the pad that you get with the product and me being me didn't read the instructions. I put a coating on the first 2 panels then went back and puff it of. I did do the finger swipe and it did come of clear in places that were put on thin. Do you think I should go back over the panel that I have done already because I may of buff it of to early and all so would it harm the paint by going over it twice. Because it's a light silver car it's very hard to see where I have been. It probably would be easier to see it if I'd damped the application pad that came with the wax 🤦🤦. What would you advise me to do??
Top review, just off to buy some for my new Vantage. New to me that is!
I love this wax i have been using this for years great wax.
Hi all nice vid but a would love to no how to wX a white car all the waxs dont show up
Thanks John l I will hold out for it Enigma is a little expensive thanks again mate
Good Review, really considering giving this product a go, durability a side I currently own a pot of Fourthwax Summer which is labelled as being a show wax... Have you ever had the opportunity to review that as I'd be interested to see your reviews of their products. Thanks
Going to try it I’ve been using a ceramic coating which is best
How do you rate the original autoglym HD paste wax? I got 4 or 5 of them on close out at Walmart for like 6 USD each....
Hi Jon,great review as always,I'm going to be using some of this wax on my black Audi, but first I'm using megs ultimate compound, then ultimate polish, then the wax, what I'm asking are these two compatible with each other,I remember hearing you say the wax works with the srp,but how about the u/p,I do have srp at hand also,I can't find any info on this, thanks .damo.
hey damien. totally compatible mate. In fact good combo.. so compound and polish as required.. wax can pretty much go on next. If you want to after your final polish you could degrease the surface with a cleaner product. You could also use super resin polish after the final polish (although some will say less point using a filler after a good machine polish) but it will still improve gloss and bring up the finish more and the wax can sit on top of it no problems.
I may have to pick some up. Awesome review!
Great review Jon! I miss Autoglym over here in the States, used to be able to grab them over the counter but I don't think they have any more distributors lined up. I'm on the hunt to get my hands on this new wax thanks to your video!
WaxMode But it's no Fusso Coat or 845😂
those are too very well known, well used products that give good long term durability performance, but autoglym would or could never get away with selling products like this. 845 isnt temperature stable. And it has a tendency double cures on you. you get list a delayed cure haze with it the next day it needs rebuffing. I used it a fair bit many years ago it was developed to insulate electrical cables. I would not use it again personally. (915 I like though). Fusso has a few issues around application, get it wrong and you can make your car look like a smeary ghost wax trails from all the parafin. (they do have other waxes in the s99 range that dont have this problem though)
Forensic Detailing Channel Yes if you're not careful or apply to much of either product, as per most products, it can be a hassle. I've had good luck with both Fusso and 845 (which I apply with a DA with no issues at all) I've heard of the need to 're buff 845 but I've never had to do it. I wonder have they improved the formula? 🤔
Hey Ken, yeah I love Fusso! And I wish I could be much more carefree with 845 and avoid the hazing and holograms. But the hunt still continues for that best waxer's wax. Combining the qualities of an addictive smell, ease of use, insane beading and decent durability into a wax that I wouldn't mind using every weekend for relaxation. So with this Autoglym Ultra HD - I would be looking at this to compete against Zymol Glasur as that all around top notch balanced waxer's wax with a ridiculous ease of use level - Glasur currently holds that title for me.
Waxmode, have you reviewed Glasur on your channel?
nice review as always jon, i have some of these wax to try out on my black metallic and silver metallic. did you apply the wax on top of super resin polish on the golf? did you find it gave any depth?
only applied on top of SRP on the bonnet. it all just looked glossy.. but would be worth going over the car with SRP if it was a bit hazey/light swirling perhaps and you dont have a machine polisher to do the correction.
Hi John, another good review as always. After watching this, I’m left wondering how it would compare to the likes of R222 Concours Look Carnauba Wax? R222 would be very similar I think and less expensive. I’d be keen to hear anyone else’s thoughts on this. Cheers again.
Max Burg So far I can't find anything that can beat R222 so I think I'll be sticking with it.
yeah great review and that silver really comes up well ! Do you know if the finish it is a big improvement over standard HD wax ? I have half a tub of standard HD wax but considering this. However seem to be struggling to get a hold of it !?!
I dont have HD wax to compare it too.. but its been formulated to add more gloss than the HD wax (which wouldnt have been easy to achieve). Id have to get them on test panels side by side but even that has limitations with my setup to be able to measure it. but the finish the wax leaves is superb.
Great video! I think I'll pick up some UHD Wax next time it's on sale :-D
Hi there i am new to all this can you tell me the best car shampoo that does not break down the autoglym ultra high definition wax
Would you apply this to alloy wheels?
Excellent blog,
Autoglym say Ultra HD Wax provides protesction for up to 6 months. Never leave it that long so wouldn't know. I apply every 2 to 3 months. Super impressed with it's application and removal.
excellent stuff mate
Nice review.
Your the best thank you for you review
Hi John you say uhd on top of super resin, does it go ok on top of ultra deep polish
Another good review Jon I am going to buy this when I get paid and try it out at the moment I am using the 🐢 was liquid and it's crap and hard to remove I noticed u was app ling Inn circular motion is that the correct correct to apply a away Inn have been doing straight lines thanks
its better to work a paste wax in little small circles yes mate. just helps spread it.
Nice job Jon.
G'day Jon really like your channel I have subscribed thank you. John Tasmania Australia
great to have you on board jon welcome to the channel.. I think my first Tasmanian viewer :)
Nice review John, , liked the way you did the wash test and great explanation, I might give this a go for fun. Been using the double speed over winter, still a hard wax to beat. You got the paint on that car mint mate, what did you correct it with, its come out beautiful
just used super resin polish on the bonnet to test it could sit on top of that with no issues.. rest of the car was just waxed with no SRP, but the wax made the car look very glossy and wet.
Hello SRKarting, how long have you been getting out of the double sped. I live in Canada and if some can last six months, that's good for us.
I used this for the first time this week I didn't read the instructions, I know, my bad. I didn't mist the applicator, I used it sparingly, thinking, if it needs it, I will add another coat, so glad to see you mention thin application. I didn't let it 'crust' I did half the bonnet then buffed off and followed suit over the rest of the car. the results are still fantastic though, and its been non stop rain where I live since. hubs and I have the same car, and you can really see the difference in the way the rain reacted, my bonnet had half a starburst pattern, whereas his, the rain sat over the whole panel. as soon as we get a dry day I will rewash and reapply another coat, properly this time. Might even do his car for him too ;)
yer it works really well Ive been using it this week sally great stuff.
@@ForensicDetailing I’m new to detailing. Found your channel amazing for learning. I binge watched everything you have done, and now come back for specific jobs. I really have found a new passion, the kids keep calling me the detailing granny, haha
@@Nano_Nana carefull its addictive :)
reminds me of soft 99 kiwami dries so quicknot bad beading results nice glossy shine to it so easy to buff
Autoglym have said to me that this doesn't shrink in the pot too like the HD wax does.
Can vouch for this and I have no power tools to apply it, just good old fashioned Elbow grease. But the finish is worth every minute and penny.
I think you meant successor not predecessor. Could you review chemical guys 50:50 wax please, and also Zaino Clear Seal ??
I've used 5050 and it's not very durable loses its hydrophobic effect quickly I thought
Curious to see how this compares to collinite haute d'élégance
I bought this and love it. I am a bit of an Autoglym fan because of my first buy from them the super resin polish. None I tried before beat this for smear free removal. And I’m happy the uhd wax is the same. Have to say I hate their videos on you tube. Don’t do them justice. Ps love your Chanel unbiased reviews and followed loads of your recommendations, thank you
SRP + UHD is a cool combo. theres been lots of like products that have since come along that are interesting and good, other forms of protection to wax as well etc.. but honestly SRP + UHD for guys that like to clean there car well. gloss up the paint with SRP and top with UHD. those 2 products are your polish/glaze and protection products and then its just your wash and decon and accessories you need to pick.
Forensic Detailing Channel my full routine is hd autoglym shampoo(little product gets loads of suds) actually better value then the £5 big bottles I used to get, maguires clay bar, SRP, uhd wax. And about 20 micro fibre cloths ( my wife loves washing them lol) I am just waiting for your recommendation wheel cleaning bilt auto wheel to be delivered.
Quick question what can I put on my wheels to help keep them protected and repels dirt for longer?
Thanks for your last reply
Can you wax after applying the Autoglym Polar Seal
Hi Jon, I have applied it on a white car, after clay and srp, and the gloss is fantastic. However under certain angle I notice a haze on the roof panel. Any ideas?
could be like moisture on the surface.. hit it with some detail spray. after the next wash to remove the haze.
Hi could you review collinite 845 was please
Super Resin Polish before the wax still worth it on a newish 2017 car, saying that I think it got swirls when the dealer washed it on delivery :-(
great video and help
Hi Jon, nice video. Just picking this up now so a bit behind when this was released. How would you compare this to bilt hamber DSW? I know the two a different price points but I only want to buy one, which would you say is better? I'd be looking for good ease of application, buffing, gloss, beading.
Thanks!
hey buddy i think someone has asked this in the comments. but soon I will do a comparison video on waxes with these 2 in it.
@@ForensicDetailing That would be fab! You've generally tested most of the waxes but as they were from different years it was hard to gauge what you thought was best at this point in time. Good to hear there will be a video coming soon, I'll hold out for that before buying your recommendation! Cheers.
Hi John how does this compare to r33 for application?as this is the only paste wax I've tried in the last few years
r222 right? r222 is an example of a wax which uses a lot of oil carrier. and has no long term performance. literally after you wash it half the shine goes. r222 is a epic one shot show wax though. one to have in the collection but its old school
Would you recommned using Auto Glym Rapid Ceramic Spray after using UHD wax and how often you repeat the whole process wax/RCS? Many thanks
I think it last longer than the wax. So you could just use standalone. Use every 2 or 3 months m8
great video jon, when applying the wax do you mist water on the applicator pad every panel, or is it only done once to moisten the pad?
you can do it works actually.. I dont tend to though unless the instructions recomend it.
@@ForensicDetailing cheers pal
Hi! Love your channel,A question I have Pete's 53 wax but it has dried up and cracked, what can I do about it? Can I put the tin in boiling water and lett it melt down again,or could that destroy the wax?
bin it mate. the solvent vaporises causing it to dry out. you could melt it down and add some mineral spirit but waxes are too cheap to do this..
if you want to try and revive it soak a foam applicator in white spirit and rub it over the top of the dry wax. that might revive it a bit.
@@ForensicDetailing Bin it ! That cheap I don't think it was😀I haven't even used it get 40£ + shipping to Sweden. The uk is often half the price to here, but thanks for answering and the tips.
Maybe it's something to do a video about, you seem to know alot about waxes, especially when you can make your own.👍
if i use another paste wax over UHD wax...will it affect the shine etc...?thinking of combining the Turtle Wax hybrid ceramic graphene paste wax...
Hmm u can m8
Bought this yesterday can't wait to use it need to wash car first like
Hi John great informative video,
I'm torn between ultra hd wax and built hamber double speed, which would you recommend for gloss and water behaviour, not overly fussed about durability as long as they protect for a few months
bilt hamber holds onto its hydrophobic qualities longer I think but not 100% sure of that. UHD is perhaps nicer to buff than DS. DS is a lot cheaper though and you get more wax. So I think if your in the trade perhaps its DS. If your not too worried about the money difference I think UHD might be the one with the like wow factor after you have layed it out and buffed it...
@@ForensicDetailing
Thanks for the advise ! Cheers
@@hepworthgch my pleasure
I have the old HD wax and it is a yellower hue. Have a couple of problems; It's sat loose in the tub now and wondering if i can melt it down then let it reset? Also the red applicator sponge goes hard.
take red applicator pad to sink run hot water, steaming hot water into the sink. put a squeeze of fairly liquid into sink. soak applicator in hot water for 20 minutes. take out of sink brush it with old tooth brush and hot water to flush all the detergent and melted wax out. Or buy new applicator. dont remelt wax you will be heating solvents and breathing them in and damaging your lungs. if you cant scoop up the wax in the pot its time to buy another pot of wax mate.
Well, I’m sold. Halfords here I come.
Can i ask you do you give the pad a spray of water every time you load the wax..Thanks in advance
you can do but you dont need to.
Hi, I’ve just waxed my car using this. Autoglym recommend using their ultra HD shampoo. I usually use the the polar snow foam range to wash my car, would you recommend I switch to the ultra HD shampoo they recommend or would you recommend something else or to just stick with the polar range? Cheers in advance and keep up the good videos!
I use the uhd wax on my Golf R (prize possession). I use polar blast and wash on top of it as pre wash. I then contact wash with uhd shampoo. But when I first started using uhd wax I did still use polar blast and standard shampoo without any visible issues. As to whether you should or not is a different matter. But personally I wouldn't worry about using uhd shampoo if it means your gunna have to run out and spend extra money.
Gareth Blake that was my thoughts. The wax was great. Done it on Wednesday. I’ve got my own prize possession, c class coupe. A lot of car to wax! But totally worth it! Thanks for your reply!
Hi John, very interesting. I didn't see a lot of Meguiars products featured on your channel. Do you have an opinion about their Ultimate Paste Wax? I use it and I am very satisfied (especially at around half the price of the Autoglym Ultra HD), but was wondering on how you would rate it. Thank you.
megs have some epic products. some like legendary ones I love so have a lot of respect for them. but Im not too keen on their waxes. UPW is a synthetic one. do the test I did in this video. you can do it on the hood of the car.. and see how the product holds up after hitting it with detergents...
Thank you for the info, I didn't know that. I am tempted to try this at some point. Much appreciated!
Fusso Soft99 or the AutoGlym Ultra HD, which would you say is the best. Thanks.
looks wise and ease of use UHD. impossible to make UHD ghost really or have problems with it. durability and repellency fusso.
Hi. Please humour me. I apply Autoglem resin polish the super hd wax. I understand that. But what about 3 months time.....do I still apply the resin polish first then apply super hd afterwards. And do this everytime in this order or don't ever both with the Autoglem resin again ( just the wax ? )
That's for guidance I need it !!!
in 3 months time the wax will have loads of life if the car has not been used much and kept in a garage.. but real world most waxes look dead after 3 months... So yes go again with the super resin polish to strip the old dead wax layer, gloss up the paint, and then lay down HD wax.
Super resin polish will bring up gloss and fill minor scratches. it will scrub away light oxidisation as well and make the paint look fresh.. then when paint looks good you add wax..
that combo you are using is great. its tried and tested.
Greetings from Poland :) What's you opinion now, all those years of testing and fancy waxes you got? I have Waxplanet Bioshock, got it for cheap this winter and it is waiting for test but UHD creates itch that makes me want to buy it.
The passion to try new stuff is part of the fun. It's a brilliant wax though.
Used it 4/5 nice to work with
