In this upload I delve into a newly released product for the Australian market from Autoglym.
It's their first go at an entry level ceramic coating and their newest addition into their UHD line of products.
Many are moving to ceramic coatings now. They provide superior protective capabilities, look far better and are only becoming easier and easier for the newbies to get into. This product is no exception.
It was fantastic when it came to application and left behind a brilliant, high gloss finish. Leaving the black SLK Mercedes I worked on looking like a mirror.
Minimal prep was needed before application, just the usual safe cleaning and then using their supplied preparation solution but for the purpose of this video I went a little further to show just how good we can get it looking, getting the most out of the product.
I was really pleased with the performance of it and keen to see how it holds up in the harsh Mildura weather!
I hope you enjoy/enjoyed this video!

This is a product I have been wanting to try on my wife's daily driver for a while. After viewing this "how to" I think I am going to give it a shot. I normally don't apply anything ceramic to my cars, but this might be the first one. Looks fairly easy to apply if you follow the directions. Thanks for the tutorial.

Brilliant video. I was lucky enough to buy a Jaguar XJ R-Sport, and it came with an Autoglym range of cleaning products, and I have been very impressed with the quality. Based on your video, I am definitely going to buy this ceramic kit. Many thanks.

I just bought this and I am so excited to use it tomorrow! I have a MK7 golf R and I am going to 2 stage polish it tomorrow then use this product. I can't wait to see results ( I am very OCD and usually wash the car once a week and even clean the leather weekly as well )

I'm loving auto-glym products. Just bought a new Beemer and wanted the best of the best... Although there's some much higher priced stuff around (guessing better?), I've found this to be pretty easy and super effective for DIYers. Was looking at this today, but hesitant... After seeing this, I think I'll out an order in. Thanks brother, subbed.

Really hard to say if the higher priced stuff from smaller manufacturers is really "better" than the mass produced stuff from the big players - there is a LOT of snake oil marketing in the detailing industry - for my "gut feel" - companies like Autoglym have the money to pay for top end in-house R&D people and facilities and extended trials, not to mention proper manufacturing QA - whereas small players are probably not going to have those capabilities & likely rely on a lot of outsourced labs etc. - so it wouldn't surprise me if big player products actually out-perform the "boutique" suppliers a lot of the time. No evidence to back that up though, just my thoughts...

Gyeon Q2 can coat lasts longer as a semi protective coating. People have said it last 12 months rather then the 3 months max Autoglym provides. Still great for presentation and to get a feel for ceramics for someone who isn't confident with a machine polisher if things go wrong with a harder ceramic product

Hi mate the way I do is just put both bottles and a bit of that ultra foam in the snow thing you put on your pressure washer..
The more powerful the better as it blows the bugs off at the same time. Last step sun dry.

We have had this in The UK for a while now, lots have channels have done long term tests that show the coating failing after two months. I think Autoglym need to up their game. Nice video keep them coming.

Wouldn't the SRP act as a barrier to the CC bonding to the paint?

    • @focusondetailing3855
      @focusondetailing3855  Před 3 lety +2

Hey Paul, I only used SRP as I wanted to stick with the theme of using Autoglym products throughout the video. I used it to remove the minor defects and I probably should've gone for a product without protective capabilities but the preparation solution would've disposed of anything left behind anyway. Getting it ready for the ceramic coating. Thanks for the comment

So I thought for a product to be a true ceramic coat it couldn’t come bottled in plastic cause some of the solvents aren’t safe in plastic. So this product isn’t a true ceramic coating.
