srsly. I've worked at two woman's shelters, they'll gladly give you an attorney for free. It's a pretty simple process.
Depends on the state your're in, the county you're in, and the judge that is assigned to the case. Some judges will treat restraining order proceedings under an "evidence code lite" standard, where generally inadmissible evidence can come in. Other judges will treat pro per litigants as attorneys and hold them to the same standards as attorneys, including the evidence code, rules of procedure, etc. Some people might be able to handle filing for a restraining order and/or appearing at court on their own; however, some people aren't able to do so due to a variety of issues (stress, mental health, ongoing trauma, lack of confidence, and so on). Also, regarding shelters having attorneys to help out, that depends on the shelter. For example, the local shelter in my area has an attorney or two to give guidance in filing paperwork for a restraining order, but the attorneys will not give ongoing legal advice after the paperwork is filed or appear in court to advocate for the person or tell them what to do when in front of a judge.

The Plaintiff understands way more than she lets on. "I don't want to say anymore because Judge Milian is not stupid like I hoped she was, and I didn't want to her to catch me in another lie like the one I told the school to get paid for sick leave, and then sue for lost wages that I didn't lose.

When we ask a woman for marriage, that woman is far superior to us then someone we just play house or have sex with. Most men will think - if she's sleeping with me and giving me husband privileges then there is no need to marry her, she likely provides this same treatment to her other boyfriends as well. Usually if a man is with you for 3-5 years and hasn't given any indication that he wants to marry, he usually doesn't care about commitment and he'll continue searching for a new lover. Either way, this stuff is somewhat meaningless as most men now view marriage as a scam.

It is very rare when someone cheats on their spouse and then divorces right after. There is usually financial loss and burden associated with a divorce and the court systems make sure women are taken care of even if she divorces because she feels like it. Single women who shack up, the man isn't worried about replacing her, her not worried about losing half of everything he owns and he will move accordingly as there is no loss to him if he decides to cheat on her then divorce him. My neighbor divorced her cheating husband because of 15 years due to infidelity. She's living life on easy mode, she was rewarded $19 million in divorce settlement (he told me). His mistress who exposed him because he wouldn't leave his wife is still broke and struggling. He's hooking up with his ex mistress 20 year old niece and giving her the money and gifts just to be petty. Yes, you can still get cheated on in marriage, but don't pretend like a 10yr marriage ended is equivalent to 10yr shacking up ending.

Why would the defendant have to pay your legal fees? You hired the attorney on your own volition. He was ordered to pay the money. Did you give him an opportunity to pay the money?
