Mat and Racing Driver Sam are off on another road trip, and they’re taking a Porsche 911 GT3 & a Porsche Cayman GT4 RS all the way from the UK to Spa Francorchamps to put these track-focused Porsches through their paces!
However, they’re not just testing these cars on track, they’ll also be finding out what they’re like to live with day-by-day on their journey over. They’ll be finding out how they compare when driving through town and on a twisty road, while also comparing how comfortable their interiors are and finding out which has the better exhaust note. Not only that, but they’ll also be finding out which has the best boot space and practicality!
But of course, the centrepiece of this video will be their performance on the track! And despite them both being Porches, there’s one key thing these cars have in common - they’re both powered by the same engine! As a result, that means they’re both packing a naturally-aspirated 4-litre flat-six that red lines at a glorious 9,000RPM! However, while the GT4 RS can push out 500hp and 450Nm, it’s been dialled up slightly in the GT3, putting down 510hp and 470Nm.
Will that slight difference prove the difference on track? Or will the hardcore GT4 RS have the edge? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE! - Auta a dopravní prostředky

For 300k I would like 1000 hp to its 2023 with ev knocking on the door🤣. That to me is purity and perfection. Probably would pick the faster gt3, I can always make the exhaust sound better because to me they aren’t equipped with enough power anyways.

@@joshreynolds729 The exhausts sound the same between the 2. It’s the induction noise that is way louder on the GT4 RS because the air box is literally a foot from your head. Exhaust would help but induction is what you experience the most as a driver.
Food holding capacity of the rear spoiler is my second most important consideration when purchasing a car, right after how many racoons fit in the left front wheel well.
And of course how many hamsters can fit in the exhaust😂

I just picked up mine yesterday (@msrp😀). It’s bonkers and thats staying around 6000rpm for break in (936 miles). The downshifts are epic.

I have driven a 992 GT3 RS on track. Only limits to the car is you. (I'm no race driver lol)

Honestly this was amazing video, you made it really interesting, the lap analysis for example and oh, by the way, very impressed with Mat's times - Spa is a long circuit so there's lot of time to be lost compared to a racing driver.
Both cars are awesome, however I would also choose the GT3 aswell. Did anyone notice when matt was on track with GT4 RS, the HAND BRAKE light was on lol
It’s low tyre pressure….
@@racer4199 No it isn't low tyre pressure. Porsche's low tyre pressure warning light has a different icon than that. It's a brake proportioning fault, which COULD be serious, but is most likely set when the system gets confused because the driver is hard on the gas and the brake pedals at the same time. In which case nothing is actually wrong, and the fault can be cleared with any of the usual methods.

This is a great format. I spent time in both cars last year in the Italian Alps and found the GT3 more planted and more settled, however the GT4 RS put a bigger smile on my face. If you need a car to use daily you'd have to go for the GT3 but if you want the ultimate road car for weekends and special occasions the GT4 RS would be my choice.

Leave it with this: the GT3 has a racing car double wishbone front axle, which the GT4 RS still doesn't have, period!
Alone with this very important difference at the front axles the difference between these two cars was very expected.
due to the car's size and weight, the smaller and lighter yellow Porsche will be faster on smaller, more technical tracks, where the weight and agility of the car are also important

The reality is the 4RS is the better car of the two. However it was always intended to not overshadow the 911, thus the narrower track, less power and so on. Despite the mid engine chassis, the 4RS will be the more historic car relative to a normal GT3. The 3RS is of course an entirely different ballgame
There is s reason Porsche scrapped the MacPherson struts in the front of the 992 GT3 (and on the race cars long before that). The GT4 as struts front and back which is not ideal on a sports car.

No, GT3 is a better track car without a doubt. On a much shorter circuit, at the Hockenheim GP, GT3 nailed it with 1:45.8 while GT4 did it 1:47.6 by the same legendary driver Cristian Gebhardt.

Wonderful races !!! for the GT4 RS and for the GT3 and GT3 RS, there is no better test than 2 or 3 laps on a good track. The 911 GT3 RS or the 911 S/T look so amazing with their wide body .

I have never been to this track but have raced it hundreds pf times (GT7). At 27:03 Matt was hot into the chicane. I find it best to come in shallow for the first part of the chicane, get turned and chop the inside curbing on second part of the chicane and get on the power earlier. It always feels like I am waiting an eternity to get on the power if I don't (or I spin up and lose drive to the line).
Veyron Gr.4 and GT BY CITROEN Gr.4 both lapped 5.6 seconds faster than the Porsche 911 GT4.
The 992 GT-3 is one of the most beautiful cars ever made in my opinion.. I'd take it over anything else, especially in a manual..

The GT3 RS is my next car goal once my business is financially stable and things are going well, at the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with either car. Both are phenomenal cars!!
