They had to stand there for 20 minutes to get him to take 3 steps to the right because obviously just in case a 7 ft wide person comes walking down the sidewalk, the tripod won't be able to move then unless the police are there. So they just want to make sure it's moved ahead of time before someone 7 ft wide who can't say excuse me comes down the sidewalk. Thank you asifers for dedicating so much time to make a difference.

They understood at the very end. Suddenly they figured out he was a "humorous" 1A Auditor, and they realized it would eventually cause issues for them to issue a ticket for blocking the sidewalk. They then decided it was more trouble than it would be worth and that's why they asked him if he was ready to "get his protein in" (playing along) and then told him he could go without getting a ticket. As you can see, Asif was relieved he wouldn't have to go through the process of retaining council for a bogus and expensive sidewalk blocking ticket and he'd be free to spend his time doing more videos. In the end it was a win-win

The only time he gives information is after he gets the cop on camera telling him verbally that he will place him under arrest if he does not provide his name. As far as I can tell, that’s where his rights were actually violated, and from that point on, Big Dom has all the evidence he needs should he ever need to fight this legally. He held on right until his rights got violated on camera, then backed off.

(The tyrant cops will still push back). If they can't tell you the law that says you can't look INTO a window, then they have no leg to stand on.

I think he has a decent case for a Section 1983 (42 U.S.C. §. 1982) lawsuit.
The detainment at first could have been legitimate (terry v. Ohio), but once they know he’s not a threat and just filming in public… it should have ended (maybe a couple minutes at most).
Everything beyond that is ALL an illegal detainment and retaliation including the false citation of obstructing the sidewalk.
