  • I was just scanning QR Codes with my Android and public employees flip out.. Why are QR Codes there in the first place if I can't scan them? Is there a time limit to scan QR Codes in public? All I was doing was tinkering around with my Android! Can't we just peacefully tinker in public?

@@mennoknight78 Yes, and the fourth amendment says nothing about emails, so I guess according to your logic, the constitutionally recognized and protected right to privacy doesn't apply to emails. The right to keep and bear arms is an essential right derived from human nature. The Second Amendment is obligated to recognize that right because it cannot legitimately deny it. You have by the mere fact of being born on this earth and being a human being, the natural right to defend yourself from any danger with whatever device is necessary, no matter if it's your fists, a pencil, a knife or a firearm. The fact that the second amendment doesn't say "in public" is absolutely irrelevant. Furthermore, when it comes to fundamental rights, restrictions are the exception and only apply when a crime is involved.
When you decide to hurt or threaten to hurt someone, or steal someone's property, or damage someone's property and not compensate them for it, you are a criminal and your rights are lost or restricted. When you are not a criminal, that is, when you have not created a material and concrete victim by your actions, no man-made law or policy can take away your rights. That is why all people who are not criminals can bear arms in public because it is their natural right that the Second Amendment codifies in the words of men and gives it recognition and protection.

This guy was making everyone in that post office uncomfortable, which is disturbing the peace. He wasn’t there to scan the QR codes or he wouldn’t have been recording. He would’ve just been on his camera scanning the codes and it would’ve taken a few minutes without saying anything to anyone. They even tried to help him and at that point it was clear that he wasn’t trying to do what he said he was trying to do. Now at that point, you have no idea what he’s here for. official business? They don’t know. Is he there to scan the QR codes? Doesn’t seem like it. So being uncomfortable afterwards is absolutely reasonable, especially in today’s world.

I am a fan of diversity, I enjoy my wide range of many friends British, Jordanians, Chinese, Kiwi’s, my auzzies, Egyptian friends, muslim friends, south african friends, Salvadorian, Chilean, the list goes on of neighbors and friends that I respect and appreciate. One thing that allows me to interact with every one of those people is a common ground for respecting one another. When I am asked to leave I usually leave, not because I am a cow who can’t make a decision for myself, but because I want to respect others. Some of us can’t leave our jobs or quit. We have others counting on us to come through for them. When you do an audit like this in an environment that has a usual pace or flow you will get an immediate reaction, perfect for your video. Go preform this same stunt in DTLA on Figueroa and you wont get this same reaction. Do this at the washington monument you won’t get this same reaction. If this dude was doing what he is doing, and I turned around and saw him, I would think he was a fucking weirdo and press him. Idk why we have to excuse people's crazy behavior, actually we don't. It isn't societies fault you were not socialized, and that you do awkward shit to other people, like recording them, and they don't like it. You can do things that are not against the law, but that other people would find rude or odd. Yes, you can't just do what you want to everyone because some people will confront you physically.

Near the end of his life, Andy Kaufman planned a college tour - but not as a performer. Instead, he envisioned a series of lectures entitled On Creating Reality: the Physics of Human Response. Although he died before delivering a single lecture, his agent had printed promotional material in the form of postcards. The material teased the lecture would discuss Andy’s career in relation to “the dynamics of human behavior.”
