What is Tank Crew?
A new ground-breaking tank simulator by the team that brought you IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad. Drive some of WWII’s greatest battle tanks in close quarters ground combat during the Battle of Kursk, namely in the Prokhorovka sector. In the largest mechanized battle of all time, you can command your tank crew in both single-player and multiplayer environments and battle the enemy in intense missions and grueling combat. Maneuver your tank to find the enemy’s weak-spot while trying to keep your own tank’s vulnerabilities from being exposed. One carefully placed round is all it takes to decimate your crew and destroy your tank!
Tank Crew contains ten famous tanks and armored vehicles that you can drive, shoot and command in virtual combat alone or with friends. Tank Crew also comes with a map of the Prokhorovka sector of the Kursk Salient. - Hry
Looking forward to the German playthrough you mentioned as a possibility!
I will do it once this series is over.
Enjoying this series. Really adds a level of immersion and suspense.
Thanks!
Ngl, that overview of the state farm with the russian tanks pushing in from every direction was cool.
I thought it was pretty awesome too.
There's nothing like a harrowing red-on-red (🚩) incident to remind you which side you're fighting for although at least they weren't dropping depth charges! 🙄
Isn't that called blue-on-blue and not red-on-red?
Red because Soviet Russia! ᕙ( ' ᵕ ' ).🚩
" We learned all kinds of things in the war "
- " Like how to get shot at by your own men ? "
You'd be surprised how big of a threat is friendly fire. The only thing you don't want more than being shot at by superior enemy force, is some idiot bringing in massive firepower too early or too late to the party
Thing you got to remember about the T-34 and Sherman's is speed is your friend. So you use that to out flank and close in to where your weaker cannons can be in position to take shots at the rear and sides of the longer range and powered cannon German AFV's and their thicker frontal armor. Frontal attacks is almost suicidal against everything except for Pz III' and IV's. The Pz IVF2 long barreled 75 was about equal to a T-34 in everything with again a slight edge in cannon range. So remember to do a lot of scoot and shoot if you are taking fire in a certain direction, just side step and look to come in at another direction.
Yeah these are all great tips. I'm still getting the hang of tanks so this is much appreciated!
Hint:
Dont use brakes
Just this video and I swear I’m gonna go sleep. Unless Wolfpack uploads the Me 262 career.
PS: I could listen to your voice all day, it’s so fucking relaxing.
Haha thank you! I'm glad I don't have a annoying voice! :P
I think its very cool that things like friendly fire from aircraft can happen in this game. Makes it so realistic👍
Reminds me of getting strafed by an A-10 Warthog. Unfortunately, this is something that can very easily happen even on the modern battlefield. One moment you're cheering them on the next you're digging in with your eyelashes and hoping for the best.
I can't even imagine...
I think Ivan is mad at you for drinking his vodka.
All throughout both campaigns I was always scared of all the aircraft flying above, constantly checking when I saw something new. Always having to take the binoculars out to try and check who is who, always worried I may be strafed while open hatched, bombed by a friendly or enemy, or hit by a Stuka with 37's/IL-2's 23's. The last part of this mission was probably the most terrified I had been in the campaign. Oh, you could also use the rotating gunners periscope to have a good look around while buttoned up as well, that's what I did here (though you often need to unlock the turret and lower the gun a bit so you're not always looking up on an angle).
Wolfpack: "Hurray! It's the Soviet air force!"
*Gets bombed*
Wolfpack: "Oh no, it's the Soviet air force!"
lol, atleast they didn't go full Sven Hassel on you and have friendly artillery grind the town to dust after it has been captured by friendlies.
Yeah that would have been horrific.
In order to capture a town then you not somebody else you have to go to the center of town which nine times out of 10 is usually on the main road but have a good one.

Brave of you to assume you have radioes :D
It's 1942, it's pretty safe to assume that every tank has at least receive only radio, and leading tanks two way radios. Getting in touch with the boiz in the air might be complicated tho :P
@@m1sz3lpl24 This is mid 1943.
Active ping cool
Great vid Wolf keep it up. Maybe an German campaign?
Once this one is over.
would be nice to see smoke shells added to tanks...and have the AI be effected by them i.e block there vision cos they don`t care about bushes or tree tops blocking there vision... some is something that is missing in my opion
Great one Wolf, whatever happened to the biplane stream WW!?
Oh I unlisted it. I'll be steaming this Thursday though!
is it possible to use the view port in the left side of the turret...it is in red orchestra 2 ww2 fps game
I think so. I'll need to check.
REALLY sorry Comrade!! Some idiot in HQ specifically gave instruction that all tanks in the village were to be destroyed. Trouble is that he was apparently suffering from an Absinthe and Acid comedown and he got his day/dates completely wrong, not to mention the targets we were given. Myself and the rest of the squadron beg for forgiveness AND are presently making our way to HQ with the specific intent of bundling said offender into the rear of one of our Sturmoviks and depositing him in the middle of Siberia in his underpants.
No wait I'm sorry I was wrong. Whoa is me.
get in the fight
MORE Action LONGER Episodes
Did Russians have radio communications between tanks and aircraft ? I think the German did ?
Really quite interested in the tank side of things for il2. £69.99 plus another £10 for each for the two little campaigns available for it puts me right off haha. Its not even complete yet and they're charging an awful lot for it more than I'd be happy paying for a full complete package infact, let alone early access
The two campaigns are included with the base Tank Crew game. I agree it is a bit steep but I am getting my moneys worth. It will go on sale once the module is officially released too.
@@Wolfpack345 ahh thats something then atleast then. Alot of the others like Moscow and kuban I had to pay for the campaigns on top of the modules. Well I didn't have to but you know what i mean
did you replace the music via editing or do you use a replacer mod?
I edit it in.
Make depth 500 2 knots
Love the gameplay but they want a mint for this game.

what is reason of use the ptabs?
They are Anti Tank bomblets. They are pretty fun to use! No so much fun when you are on the receiving end.
They're Soviet-made anti-tank cluster munitions/bomblets deployed either directly from a bomb bay or from cassettes that deploy the contained munitions after being dropped, the roof armour of a tank or other armoured vehicle is almost always the thinnest since it's the face that usually receives the least amount of fire and as a result you can use very small shaped charge/HEAT warheads to reliably penetrate even heavy tanks. As they were so small and light (only 2.5kg each of which 1.5kg or 60% was explosive filler in the shaped charge) you could deploy 280 from an IL-2's bomb bay or 192 in four 48-bomblet cassettes which allowed the user to saturate an area with bomblets whilst level bombing with the dispersion area determined by the user's altitude, attitude and speed. They were probably reasonably effective against infantry as well but nations that deployed cluster munitions for the most part had dedicated anti-personnel fragmentation bomblet weapons for that purpose (or incendiary bomblet weapons which were extensively used against Japanese cities by the US during the long incendiary bombing campaign leading up to the dropping of the Fat Man and Little Boy weapons).
I hope they make a French one
That would be cool!
unfortunately got the notification 3 minutes late but still never clicked faster in my life
Thanks for watching!
@@Wolfpack345 thanks for making awesome content!
Them pesky IL2
Rise of flight lets play?
I'll revisit Rof one day.
What are p taps?
smol anti tank bombs
PTAB - Protivotankovaya Aviatsionnay Bomba. Anti-tank aircraft bomb.
No radio no communication! These IL2 s had no radio. No problem so far for Stalin because the Russian had enough soldiers.
This is 1943. Tanks had radios. Stop perpetuating tired stereotypes and misconceptions, you goddamn minion.
I thought IL-2 was a plane sim?
It is primarily. They added a module called Tank Crew.
@@Wolfpack345 This looks great. Is it part of the main game or do I have to buy something else?
@@AnimalStomper dont get super excited, it's 70$ Early access with no steam key and an unknown release date :x
Sorry I’m late my dog just died
I am sorry to hear that :(
Wolfpack345 yeah she lived longer then expected
Sorry to hear about your dog, it's not easy to lose a loved pet. Dogs are great.
GiJoe 775th yeah there was no dog like here
Fourth ?
Nice!
Lol...
:(
@@Wolfpack345 those damn il-2s!!!!!
I've watched all 6 episodes and literally NOTHING happens!!
Sorry. It is not War thunder.
Well, that's the general nature of tank warfare of the era. Most of their time was spend moving and most targets consisted of soft targets. HE and smoke were the most common rounds fired with the most common target being fortified positions. With this being Kursk, you do have a lot more tank on tank combat, but it's still the same general ideas. Attack and see what happens (if you succeed, hold it, if the attack fails, pull back if possible), or defend and see what happens (succeed and possibly hold and counterattack, continue to just hold, or fall back).
Battles don't take long, and it takes very little to take out a tank. Kursk was often just small gains by each side for quite number heavy attacks. It's not just constant tank on tank combat where you come out with multiple kills. It may happen, but at the same time, you may drive for 15 minutes, engage in combat for 30 seconds, and have a single round from an AT gun or tank you never even saw end your mission right then and there, it sure happened to me multiple times.
If you want lots of action and things happening, this may not be something for you. The German campaign should have some more action, but it's still going to be more or less the same. Though I have beaten both, and I'd say wait for some more missions as there is some more action to come.
Wolfpack345 Have you played war thunder my friend just curious?
