That's easy - selfish reasons. When their ego takes a hit due to things not going their way. Egos operate on superior v inferior judgments. What happens is they come back, maybe you forgive and also allow them back, and then part of love is to boost your partner's ego if it is too low, then their ego gets better, then as it gets better, others notice and also boost it, now they feel superior to you again and then they discard you again. Rinse and repeat.
Exactly. It is a typical behavior pattern of people who, without any empathy, exert their control over others in any situation. Their sense of superiority is thus guaranteed. They hide their egocentric attitude with strikingly "socially adapted" behavior. They often make a career by giving themselves extraordinary importance and absolute priority. In an affective relationship, the partner is manipulated, idealized, then devalued, and accused of lack of commitment. A narcissist can lie, insult and cause deep guilt in others.
When they see you leaner, stronger, looking better, working harder, the ship is coming in and everyone sees it... people want to be around you ...the want to co-op the new glow around you so they can " steal " it from you.

Expecting the narcissist to revalue me it means I lost vs the narcissist. To be revalued by the narcissist isnt a good thing that means you are being taken back into the cage and you accepted to be their pet again.

Not always, there’s no way the narc can see me, I’m not on social media, I’m blocked everywhere. So, why would the narc be back? I could be dead for all he knows. 😝
Yes, not all of us are all over social media, where someone can 'watch' us. More likely they want you to show up, like comment etc. on theirs, then they can ignore you, and you wonder why you are there. I have been absent from his SM, until recently where he was in town, he lies low anyway from SM traveling, but still was upset he did not respond, so I guess we are done. Circle back? I can't see it.
No, they may still come 9 months after the break up. Even when they.can't have any information about you. It's happened to me twice. I rejected them because I had got to a point where I didn't even like them as humans, let alone as men. Yes, it can happen. They were the ones who had left me abruptly, breaking me.

Of mine was he has a beautiful face and body and v charming. He said I was the 'ultimate prize'. I have blocked him. We got on well but he was v jealous. He is a local Councillor lol. He kicked off at me twice with severe verbal abuse and then said it was a joke. He liked me on his arm. I said get counselling then he turned it all on me and sent me a beautiful photo of his body saying he loved me and I am for him but I have 4 days to come back to him or he will sleep with women and go on dating sites. He has blocked me. He had a terrible abusive childhood.
