Loved when Kelsey saw how much he was struggling and just said “I’ll see you at the finish line, I love you.” Knowing that he had it in him to push through and finish. Having someone that believes in you more than you believe in yourself is beautiful. Well done man.

I wonder if that was also part of the reason he cried at the end. I imagine he would have been so overwhelmed and exhausted that everything would just come out

This video actually made me cry. My dad was training for an Iron Man when I was six, and one day when he was training on his bike, he got hit by a car and is now paralyzed from the chest down. Watching your training videos always gave me anxiety because I was scared something like that would happen to you, so I'm so glad that you're okay and that you finished!!! Watching you cross the finish line was so inspirational and reminded me that I don't have to be so afraid :)
OMG, I am so sorry your dad and family had to go through that! I hope he is still around and fighting! 💓💗♥️ I can relate to your anxiety. I started losing the people I love the most from a young age and continued losing people my entire life, including my first fiancé. So now I am constantly worried that something will happen to my husband or my son's and mom. I feel like time is going by so fast, and grief is a life long thing that moves like the tide. Both me and my man have a lot of health problems too. I admire people that have it even worse than us and cab still push themselves so hard because both me and my husband tens to get stuck in our depression and anxiety, and we want so badly to snap out of that.
Cody saying "what? you're beautiful" to Kelsey when she looked into the camera was maybe one of their cutest moments. Amazing accomplishment Cody you are such an inspiration!!
almost started crying about Cody’s Dad and the song oh my god. so proud of you Cody, it’s so amazing to see you grow and be passionate about this. see you at 50!!!
I lost my dad 3 months ago I’m 23 years old and for the past month I started training because of your videos, training has changed the way I Grieve it’s made my mental health a lot better. Today I ran 17km 210m elevation which is the farthest I’ve ever run. I wish I could tell my dad about what I achieved but I wanna thank you for your inspiration. On my way to doing my first marathon. Also congratulations on becoming an Ironman. I hope one day I’ll see you at another! Choo choo!!!
Man, I’ve started running half a year ago, and I’ve already ran 2 half marathons, it’s started because a girl left me. I just want to say that if you want to run half a marathon, a marathon or more, you just need to push. Just stay on it, just run man. It’s hard mentally I know, but it’s such a great feeling when you finish. I love that when you train, your body just wants to eat healthier. Just want to say that I’m proud of you and hope you’ll achieve all your goals! Stay hard!
it’s kinda weird to feel so proud of someone you don’t personally know. congratulations cody!! so many of us are so proud of you and so happy for you!! you killed it! choo choo!!
The way kelsey is there waiting for you and you told yourself to just get back to her and then seeing you guys at the end of the race made me tear up. Precious

I think the greatest part is how much support there was from Cody’s wife & parents. I can’t imagine doing this without people encouraging you, especially the first time
After 2 years of training non-stop, I will be doing my first 100 mile race 🏃in a week and a half. I’m absolutely nervous and pumped… your journey has helped me stay positive… thank you Cody! I’m either going to finish or break my body trying!
I don't know you but this comment made me gasp LOL 2 years of training alone is insanely impressive and shows your dedication. 100 miles is almost inhuman!! Good luck, you're already accomplished :)

No one understands all the emotions you experience until you do an endurance event like a marathon or iron man. Videos like this always bring tears to my eyes. At 17 I did my first marathon, at 20 I did my second, and I knew even before I crossed that second finish line, that I wanted to do a third, a fourth, and probably an iron man. When the time is right I will join the club. I encourage everyone to do a marathon!! You can do it! Great video
Proud of your brother. I ran my first marathon the same day as your Iron Man at the Orange Country Marathon. Finished in 3:37:08, super stoked. Thanks for training alongside me and keeping me honest and motivated!
So proud of you, Cody! There were also tons of us in the live chat for the finish line youtube stream. We were tracking and updating each other on your progress - it was a wholesome group. Shout out to Moe who had to work on Sunday (PST) and stayed up all night with us to watch you cross the finish line. We ascend together!
Idk why but I got tears in my eyes seeing you finish - so proud. I hated running so much - thanks to you I did 10km run and am not going to stop. Thank you for showing me the beauty in the hard things in life Cody!
I've always hated running tooo, like i stay active sometimes i dance around and stuff, but how do i get started with running? Lemme know what helped you
@@sholalove6478 I had been working out doing calisthenics and some lifting for close to a year when I got into running the fall (stopped in the winter cause of the weather) but I went from barely being able to run to doing an 8k run. My mom and I watched the tiktok your dad posted of the day and we were amazed at the clip of you finishing how you just looked perfectly fine, no sweat, as good as ever, so it’s interesting to hear how much you were struggling. I think that’s what people love so much about this channel is that you’re open about how much this stuff sucks, but you still do it.
