    I recently bought a isuzu and one day the vehicle stop working. NO ONE was able to give me a diagnostic and looking through the internet found your video. I went over and checked and like magic everything turn on ... I just want to say Thank You. Thank you for making this video because it save my family investment. Keep doing this videos definitely help me and it will help other people.

      I actually did the same thing and when I drove about 300 yards transmission litter spelt out the oil like a water fountain 😢 now they are telling me truck needs transmission repair.

    Nice job! You definitely took you're time to actually diagnose the problem and figured out the root cause of the problem, instead of putting a bandaid on it like the last person who attempted the repair

    I have a 2002 NPR, and had no dash lights, and truck just died suddenly. Mechanic couldn't figure it out, but I watched your video, and went to his shop tonight and sure enough, behind the fuse box, there were those 3 little fuses, and it was the 10 amp fuse blown. man, this really helped me, as I was going to buy an $800.00 computer, and cross my fingers that was the problem. and normally there are no returns on electric parts. I'll have mechanic put my old computer back in and see what happens. I would lie to figure out the why, the fuse blew, but that's another day. Thank you so much !

    Saved my rear end today as a customer of mine had a no crank no start issue this morning at a job sight. Talked to dealer, couldn't help with diagrams.
    Sure enough I looked on CZcams and it was the 10amp fuse in that white box behind the glove box that was hidden. Put new fuse in and we had power, DLC and PCM communication and it finally started and ran. It also got the blower motor on the AC working too.

    Thanks a million dude for posting this just so you guys know in my 2002 I did not have to remove the whole glove box or fuse panel if you pop off the gray trim by taking out the ashtray and pulling it off there's two hand holes to access just this fuse box a big one for your hand and a little one for needle nose pliers

    Thank You! You saved me a day of diagnosis. I was driving today when my speedometer stopped working, many of my instrument cluster lights went out and my transmission would not shift. I have all of the factory manuals for my 2001 NQR and was ready to dive in when I thought to check CZcams. Your video popped up and sure enough the 10 amp fuse was blown. I might have never found it in that location. Thanks again!

    May God Bless you and give more knowledge I did found the 19 amps fuse each time it’s keep blowing fuse but I jumped it with a hard wire everything works

    Hi Thomas i had a tracked diff banjo for an Isuzu npr 300 truck, i replaced the banjo and the ignition started just fine with no warning sensor light coming on, but later whn i started the ignition it started, while on neatral it gave a revving sound than it stopped. When i turn the ignition on the transmission warning light comes on and the truck won't start. Even whn i disable the diff sensors and the battery, same thing. A diagnostic tester guy said it's the relay shift, i changed it but still same problem. What could be the problem? Thanks

    Just watched your video on the hidden fuse that was burning up fuel pumps,I have a2007 npr had that’s not shifting into 4th 5th or 6th do you think that fuse could be my problem

    Thanks a million I was about to change the transmission 6000.00 cost I have a 2004 gmc W4500 The lights on the dash board stopped working and the transmission shift not working properly when I put on Drive transmission skip th e first gear and start on 2 gear the over drive button doesn't work I changed the fuse mentioned in that video it was burned of course all went back to normal Thanks Again

    Hi Brian,
    I have a 2013 Isuzu NPR HD with 40K miles on it. I drove it a few months ago and then tried to start it a week later to find that my dash lights all came on when I turned the key but it would not crank. I thought the battery was at fault so replaced it, still no starter. I then replaced the starter and still nothing. My scanner is telling me it can't communicate so I then checked the fuses (not the ones you mentioned in the block behind the dash) and all checked ok. I can start the truck if I bypass the ignition circuit and go right to the starter solenoid with the key on and it will run for about 2 - 3 seconds and shuts down. I have fuel in the rail so I know the pump is working. I am now thinking it might be the PIM. Any thoughts?

    I have the transmission light on, on my dash telling me that ....my Isuzu 08 diesel NQR 5.2 L. Question, can I find the same fuse on my 08 Isuzu 5.2 related to my shifting gear problem? from 2000 models to 2008 is a big difference..?. thanks JC

    Hello I have a Isuzu elf truck NKR similar to the NPR its a 2003, I'm not starting I had to replace a diesel pump them it started but idle badly and we tried shifting the pump timing but I do realise that on ignition the EGR system and the suction control valve for the fuel pump always running can this be my issue? Also I don't get anything when I plug in the OBD2 scanner.

    Hi Thomas. I have a 1999 W4500, reverse gear does not work. Could this be caused by that fuse? All forward gears work fine. Also only getting 4 mpg. I know it needs a manifold gasket, Could that be cause for low mileage? Thanks.

    Hey Thomas, I'm having similar symptoms with my '95.5 Forward GMC W4 Gas. It's got a 350 TBI engine with at low compression on at least two cylinders that blows oil out the case vents. It has an off idle hesitation that seems like a bad TPS, but tests OK. It seems like it shifts weird sometimes and uses A LOT of fuel. I looked for that fuse cluster behind the glove box, but couldn't find it. Would an older gas model even have one?

      i think you have pre 1994, no they did not have it then. the fuel loss and low compression go hand and hand. the trans shifting weird on that engine will be due to one of two things. a bad trans , or low spark in the cylinders. check plugs and wires and cap and rotor. and even a low coil output. these items also go hand in hand with fuel issue. good luck.

      Thanks. I already changed the plugs, wires, and cap and rotor (coil seemed ok), so I think the low spark is ruled out for now. I'm guessing that the transmission is probably ok. It just seemed strange to me because I'm not used to a heavily loaded big truck with a weak engine on hills. At least it's getting the job done now.

    Mr Thomas i desperately need your intervention, i have a 2012 npr 300 isuzu truck, i my rear axle seal was leaking differential oil, I have replaced the both outer seal and inner seal. It's no longer leaking but it won't start, its shows a gearbox sensor light. If i disable a sensor on the engine and put it back on it starts. Do i have to take it to a diagnostic tester in order to disable the sensor since the seals hv been changed? Please advise

      yes, you can also disconnect the battery or batteries, and allow time for the ecm to drain (15 min or so ) then reconnect the batteries and start. this too will reset the stored code. i personally leave them disconnected for about 30 min although 15 or less normally does the trick.the ecm will re learn itself and when it does not see a issue anymore it will fire rire up. great question. thanks for watching.

    Hey thomas..im working with a 2000 NPR 4.8L ...with this transmission...shifts fine in all gears ..just when coming to a stop it jerks violently and makes a noise that sounds like the shifter was thrown into park while the vehicle is moving...and thoughts on that

    i just bought a nissan ud 2600 diesel turboed. i drove it 750 miles home. next day wont start, ive been chasing wires all day. looking for the short, spliced some crummy rotten lines but still no luck..... its so hard when someone else went in and rigged up a crazy system and i have to figure it out,

    Great info. I have a 07 isuzu NPR 5.2 diesel and when I use my left turn signal the trans starts shifting bad and a gear with ! Symbol appears on the cluster only when turning left. Have you come across this issue?

      yes, a pig tail on top of the trans, easy to see and to get to. 2 wires on one side, 1 wire on the other. it was broke and doing that exact same thing. i could not explain what it went to. but i figured the wire needed fixed, so i did and the damn issue went away. i wanted to research it more but the truck was needed back in the field asap. thanks for the great question. i hope it helps. thanks for watching.

    Thank you for the NPR videos !! I noticed a lot of these trucks are needing service! I have a 1999 NPR Isuzu with a crank only no start issue. To start the engine I have to bypass the fuel pump relay.. Any thoughts?

    2004 Isuzu diesel with 4HK1 engine - I believe that's it - just shut off while on highway. Suspected poor fuel. Pulled fuel filter. The level was almost halfway. That's not normal. A hiss sound when it unsealed as I spun it off. Clogged fuel tank outlet to the engine maybe?

    ok i bought a 1997 ud 1400 box truck. that wil not shift out of second .wil not shift in to over drive .checked the 15 amp fuse check the fuses on the frame under the truck.i font get any voltage to the uitput speed sensor on the. rear of the tranny ..i dont have specs fors the truck ...Andy help wolf be appreciated

      its the fuse behind the dash, should be a small group of fuses by itself. one is prob blown ( shifting issues )

I have power at the starter when turning the key but no crank, no click, nothing other than my dash making a buzzing sound when I turn the key up the on position to let the glow plugs heat up

    Transmission quit shifting and instrument panel quit working. Saw your video, found the fuses, one was blown. Replaced with 10 amp which blew immediately. Tried a 15 amp and blew after a mile.
    Where do I go from here to track the problem.

      (I've spent a week replacing ((& $1,000's)) the complete Main Wiring Harness on my 2008 NQR, just because the Gearbox Mech said it was burnt out and causing issues in the Auto Tx...
      Now I'm hunting down that 10Amp fuze !!!

    I have the same problem except that my fuses are all good. No power at the key switch or even the fuse (yes, the fuse is good but no power going to it. All other fuses have power but the starter fuse does not).
    I'm not sure why no power gets to the key, instrument cluster or heater controls. All lights work, turn signals..

    Hello sir. I have a weird question for you. My job has a 99 npr diesel 4cyl. Today my truck would not shut off. I had to hit the fuel shutoff lever to turn it off. Now the key wont light up the dash. Any ideas

    I have a 2001 Isuzu NPR and my problem is the check trans light starts flashing after I run it for About 15 minutes on the road and I have to high gear that kicks in so the burns more diesel fuel also I try to plug the scanner and it cannot connect to the trucks computer. Any ideas or what can I do help Please

      some of these npr will not allow obd, you can try to jump wires 4 and 7 on the obd and turn the key on, watch the flashes to get the code. i have a how to video if needed. here is a link.

      let me know how it works out for you, i think it may just need a tranny filter change. be sure the over drive is off if your not needing it.

      +Bobby Dalton mine ended up being the bottom one that was blowed 10 amp but everytime I put a fuse in it it blows again so I need a schematic for that fuse

    I have a 1999 isuzu Npr 4 cylinder diesel
    The issue is that the truck cranks just normal but there’s no gear engagement. No reverse, no first, no 2nd. However before it completely stop taking any gears in two occasions it ran in first gear but right when it was ready to shift to 2nd it neutralized
    Please help
    I already looked for those 3 fuses but mine does not have it

      @@joelpenado1204 i ended up taking the truck to an Isuzu shop and had to get transmission rebuild due to a solenoid issue. Also, had to get a full tune up and all line flushed out, cost me almost $5k but it was worth it. Till this day truck is running just fine

    Have a 2003 W4500 with a myriad of electrical issues (no cold start, no exhaust brake, no DRL, temp gauge cycles to maximum reading, fast flasher but no lights on right signal, faint glow from indicator lights when running at night, [indicator lights go dim and pulse in brightness on cranking], turning the key to ON (w/o cranking) and the charge relay (B-19) starts cycling of and on at a rapid (0.5 sec) pace, (cranks at a normal rate however). . . All fuses work, batteries good (hold charge, 13.8V resting, load test as good), all relays good, all solenoids test as should, all circuits test continuous, no indication of parasitic load. The pass-through connector (H-4 - H-8 connectors) is all that is left to check for continuity but is relatively inaccessible. As it has a bolt through it holding H-5 - H-8 connectors into the housing, does your experience indicate this pass through comes apart if the bolt is removed. (The H-4 connector sits outside the H-5 - H-8 housing and can be split apart fairly easily; allowed me to clean the pins and sockets remedying a forward drive engagement problem [ D-2-1 placement of the shifter had no forward motion] hence my reason for testing the current draw through the pass-through to see if the rest of the pins and sockets need cleaning.

      Thanks for the reply. (Been trying to beat the weather with this repair). Yes a Tilt Master w 4HEI diesel. Pass- through on my truck will not come apart. Have now stripped the cab (to expose the harness) and testing the continuity of individual connectors in the pass-through as well as current bleed from possible crap in the connector to other circuits indicates nothing is possibly wrong at this point. Opening the looms starting with the relay banks (top center) of the dash and tracing circuits it soon became obvious there is no adequate wiring diagram for this year/model of truck as this truck is wired different at the charge relay than indicated in any and all of the wiring diagrams I have seen (and I have the Isuzu shop manual for this truck). The alternator has been replaced (as the voltage regulator is not replaceable) but the faint glow of the indicator lights when running (intermittent) suggests the v-regulator is faulty in the new alt but diagnostic tests from in the manual indicate otherwise. Alternator shop cannot provide a schematic for the outputs on this unit to do my own testing and they assure me the alt. (though a rebuild) was bench tested once rebuilt. Pain in the ass to swap again (due to vacuum pump) so want to test thoroughly first before I do this again as it is now -10c and snowing for the next few days. My voltage relay is wired as such: (#87 [relay] = #1[socket], #85 = #2, #87a = #3, #86 = #4, #30 = #5) B-19#1 is an empty socket (no wire), B-19#2 comes from alternator (W/l color wire in plug connector on the alt) through the pass-through to the B-19#2 connector in the relay socket. This circuit branched before the relay socket and continued to terminal #3 of connector B-52 at the instrument cluster. The diodes in the i-cluster tied to B-52#3 all test good. Further upstream, the gauge back fuse is good and I get 13.2V at B-51#8 suggesting power to the i-cluster from the ign. switch. Back at the charge relay socket, B-19#3 and B-19#4 connectors DO NOT go to ground as in the wiring diagram BUT ARE instead both connected to fuse #12 which is switched to 12v at the ign. switch. B-19#5 connector in the relay socket connects to the #2 connector of relays B-38 (exhaust brake) and B-21 (heater/AC) powering the switching coil in them (as #4 connectors at B-38 and B-21 both go to gnd). The wiring diagram has B-19#5 relay connector circuit branching back to the i-cluster to the B-52#3. I lack this branch as the connection to B-52#3 is made from B-19#2 relay connector. Though lots of branches w/i the wiring looms, by opening the loom, it was confirmed there is no branch in the B-19#5 relay to B-52#3 at the instrument cluster (no branches period). Does anyone possess a wiring diagram that shows my circuit mapping so I can continue my diagnosis? Anyone have any info on the alternator in this truck (i.e. schematic) so the terminals can be adequately identified so I can use the diagnostic procedures in the manual to test the alt. on the truck figure out if my replacement is junked too? As the alternator shop can't provide schematic info, I do not trust the "bench tested after rebuild" assurance I have been given. Faint glow of brake booster, charge, and brake indicator lights (can only see 'em at night in the dark; not visible in sunlight) suggest the alternator is still hooped but need more info to test on the truck before yanking it out again.     Hi Thomas! Love the vids buddy! By chance, would you happen to know if that 10amp fuse can cause overdrive to not engage? I have a 2006 GMC W4500 and right when it hits overdrive the rpm’s stay up in the 3100-3300 range. So, I guess maybe it does go into overdrive, but the rpm range seems a bit high and I try not to stay in it. Almost feels like it needs more gear up top, but maybe that’s just the way that it is?       thomas brian Yes, and the light turns on and off. The truck runs flawlessly, other than it feeling like it needs more gear in overdrive. It will shift into overdrive though. I’ve also tried messing with the exhaust brake for whatever stupid reason, that’s not it. Maybe they’re just geared low in overdrive? Thanks for getting back to me buddy!

      @@jeremynewton601Hi Jeremy, that transmission ended up taking a crap shortly after. Honestly, that’s just the way they run boss. I found out from a shop that swapped that transmission out that they’re just geared that way. The bands ended up taking a shit in the blown trans. Is yours the 4 speed, or 6?

    Hey Thomas my boss has a 04 Isuzu npr 4.8 liter sweeper I checked the fuse block behind the glove box but it still won't up shift unless I take my foot off the gas pedal.

      check your air filter. if it is plugged ( and fuel filter ) it will make shifting a bear. is your over drive button pushed?

      Hey had the same problem with an O2 NPR. It wouldn't up shift unless I let up on throttle. I perform the throttle voltage relearn and it fixed it Google throttle position relearn NPR for the procedure.

      @@markl955 I had the same problem too; '97 GMC W4 with 4BD2 and JATCO tranny, ex-sweeper truck. It would only upshift 2-3 and 3-4 if I let off the throttle. Often it would slip when in 3rd or 4th; very miserable to drive. I checked all adjustments of throttle stop bolt, throttle cable, kickdown switch and no idle switch on the Injection Pump. Then I performed the TPS re-learn and took a test drive. What a difference: early shifting for lower RPM cruising, and 10 to 15 MPH increase in top speed, and no more "false neutrals".
      I might perform the procedure again after a while as I feel the shifts could be a bit firmer, but for now I'm just enjoying driving it.

    Thanks .just bought an 2000 udi truck 200000 miles. I drove if for 3 hrs . No problems. Got home cut it off. Then it wouldn’t start. Just a click sound when trying to start it up. Bad starter I think.

      its fuel,,,,, not getting fuel. try cracking the injectors , while turning it over watch for fuel to come out. when a injector gets fuel spraying out, tighten and go to the next. when all are getting fuel it will fire up. be sure the fuel filter is so full its over flowing when installed. double check the filter is full before cracking the injectors.

      the new alternator must be a lower amp rating. or you have a wire mixed up,,,, but it just does not make sense. check that amp rating! thanks for watching.

      remove the glove box, tilt your head to the left, look behind dash. there are three fuses in a block, check the middle 30 amp for blown. it is for the shifting of the tranny.

    Hie Thomas Brian, I have an isuzu elf 2007 model with 4jj1 engine and a semi - automatic transmission. The truck shifts all the other gears but it fails to upshift from gear 2 to 3 and also fails to downshift from gear 4 to 3. When accelerating, it fails to engage gear 3 and goes straight into gear 4 then the check transmission light shows on the dash. Accelerating it further, it engages gear 5 and the check transmission light disappears. When decelerating, it downshifts into gear 4 and get stuck there.

      ive had this prob before on a 1994. the issue was in the fuse block behind driver outside by the rear of drivers tire. there was a relay that was loose, it had a bad connection. check and maybe wiggle the relays while someone cranks. they like to get dirt in there while driving

    isuzu 2005 W4500 will not start, glow plug light out, glow plug relay replaced, still no glow plug operation; Jumped circuit 4 and 11, resulting wit codes #73, #74, #77. Told that the 2005 would give out bad codes because of the newer ecm or something.
    power test for glow plug cable result in no power to glow plugs(test ligth from battery power cable to glow plug cable at engine; key turned on to generate a ground at cable; no power detected); relay socket checked and power is detected. All fuses checked, but not the 3 fuses at back left of glove compartment. after 3 glow plugs replaced with one broken inside with no apparent leak

      have you checked that fuse, also there is a two wire to one wire pigtail on top of trans that will do that. is it running warm , limp mode from being warm will not allow you to shift too. any more info would help. thanks for watching.
