  • Today I work on a Isuzu NPR that's been sitting for years! Will it start? I have faith it will! Not sure what I'm going to do with this yet. Maybe use the drive train for a swap?!

    Got the same truck around the same time around Oct 2019. Runs good I turned up the fuel pump a bit gives it a little more juice. Keep the truck in one piece and make money with it.

    I was very excited to view your video! I just picked up a 4 door version of this truck that won't run for fueling issues. I can't wait to get it home and start tinkering. These are pretty neat trucks!

    What a shame for a great truck to sit so long. I'd love to have that truck and there's one just rotting away. :( This has become basically my favorite vehicle now to consider for conversion. Bit awkward but I think the potential with a crew cab version for an RV is tremendous. I wonder how loud / comfortable to drive it is.

    24v battery is usually for applications like dumping. Reefer. Towing, crane and cement mixers

    When the battery voltage is low you always get that weird almost like a pump sound going on when you try and start it....or it has set there for a while. I put two solar panels in the front window with a charge controller to keep the batteries up!

    I would definitely drain the fuel tank before attempting any cranking. Water from condensation in the fuel can be $7,000 in blown fuel injectors. Those isuzu water seperatros are minimal in effectiveness

    I had one that the king pins we partially frozen up. Squirted some acetone/power steering fluid thru the grease Zirk’s and freed up the steering.

      @@stitchthisditchthat259 unscrew the grease fittings, pump oil can with acetone and transmission fluid 50/50 mix,stick oil can tip where grease fittings were start pumping, start truck, turn left, squirt more, turn right, squirt more,repeat, repeat, repeat, squirt, squirt,turn,squirt,turn. Keep going until it frees up. Then replace grease fittings. And grease, turn the wheels, grease some more turn wheels,grease. The mechanic was going to r3place the kingpins,big bucks. Another great video! Parallel is positive to positive negative to negative this keeps voltage 12 vdc and doubles the amps.... Series is positive from one battery to negative on the other battery, the other positive and negative terminals left will give you double voltage 24vdc and the same amps

    That's saying sure would make you a nice little roll back if you took the Box off of it I found you a rollback bed to put on it and that would solve your problem with having to use your trailer all the time

    Can you access the engine thru the seat or you have to tilt the cab just for maintenance like changing oil and filling coolant

    • @slow_restoration
      @slow_restoration  Před 3 lety

      Can't access through the interior, but you can check oil and coolant without tilting the cab. Tilting the cab is almost as easy as popping a hood though.

      They're reliable, but like all mechanical devices they're used and beat to death. You can't really buy these cheap and expect to put a full service workload on them and expect them to hold up. You can buy a beater one for light usage.
