But that doesn’t make it the worst, it’s still the best for many other reasons. Also, I’m dumb and I kept calling it the Rog Strix G14, that’s not right. Please Like & Subscribe! Enjoy.

    Laptops are really funny after a BIOS and driver updates. So head into your UEFI (BIOS settings) and hit enter on "Restore Settings To Default" then "Save and Exit". This cleared up my issues on my RTX 2070 laptop and I have been doing it ever since on all my laptops including AMD systems. Hope this helps you get this beast back on track.

    Great video, very well done and instead of focusing on benchmarks you do a real day in the life which is great. I don't understand why you keep calling it a strix laptop, I believe it is a zephyrus? I have its 16-inch brother and it's pretty much the same story. No weird Nvidia video and audio issues like I have had with the same exact silicon in a Lenovo Legion 7i. I myself thought of doing what you're doing instead of getting a bunch of handhelds but the truth of the matter is they are still two very different experiences, if you can afford to have both great, if not then I really don't think they can be used interchangeably...

    • @GamerVsTech
      @GamerVsTech  Před 25 dny +2

      Haha I know I kept calling it Strix. I’m dumb. I have a newborn who’s been keeping me up all night. So my brain wasn’t working. I called it Zephyrus in all my other videos. Oh well. I have more videos coming soon on it.

      @@GamerVsTech Haha no worries, totally get it! Also I wanted to mention that as I said I tried doing what you're doing last year with the Asus ROG Flow Z 13 gaming tablet PC but as I said in the end I realized the two experiences are very different. This is why even though I loved the Lenovo legion go and still miss it the steam deck is the best because you can suspend your games indefinitely and all the other console like qualities it has. Not to mention that the price difference between an open box handheld at Best buy and this laptop you're talking about is almost threefold at least... But again, do you get a larger screen and more powerful graphics for about the same battery runtime? Yes 👍🏻

    How hot is this thing getting for others? I mean the actual aluminum around the top center of the keyboard. It gets SUPER hot for me, and some of that heat transfers to the screen. I worry it’s going to do damage to the screen. The CPU and GPU temps are fine (never see them above 82 and 70 degrees, respectively). The keyboard always feels pretty cool to the touch, it’s just the aluminum right above the keyboard. It’s actually too hot to touch. Just wondering if this is the norm or if I potentially got a faulty unit?
    Also, excellent video! I love this thing otherwise too, and it will hurt to return if it turns out that these temps are harmful.

      @@BelleBeep interesting. Mine doesn’t get hot at all. I did notice that because the laptop is so low profile when sitting on a table the thermals are much worse than if I prop the laptop up to allow for better air flow. Definitely a little warm around the keyboard. I pretty much use it this way 100% of the time that I’m gaming. You may want to try to do a clean install of windows and drivers. That may fix things. Hope this helps.

      @@gsdbp7893 so the current two versions are a 4060 model with 16gb of ram and the 4070 with 32 gb of ram. Both laptops come with soldered ram, meaning that it cannot be upgraded with more ram. Whether you are a gamer or student I will always recommend the 32 gb 4070 version because of more ram. More ram allows for a snappier machine when running graphic intensive applications or have many programs and processes running at once. The 16 gb 4060 is a good machine. It’s fast. But it just isn’t enough in my opinion. Hope that helps.

    Looks like you capped the framerate at 60 in Elden Ring, that's why it doesn't ever drop. That hardware is definitely capable of more at 1080p low settings. This wasn't really a good way to show the laptop's potential. It doesn't make so much sense not to use the full power of a gaming hardware just to make the battery life a bit longer, unless you're really playing on the go. If you're home, just plug it in and enjoy the full quality of your games, otherwise it feels like you just wasted $2k on something that's overkill for your needs.
