@@mobeen369 I think the g14 is build a little bit. But in regards to igpu performance, you’ll get more fps at 1200p with the g16 for sure. Since we are talking about igpu s, the 890m really takes the cake here. More power efficient, faster, and more powerful.

@@mobeen369 after a few bios updates the thermals are just fine for me. My rule with all gaming laptops is to not completely MAX them out when gaming. I usually never run games higher than medium settings. This also depends on the game. Super optimized games like Overwatch or retro games I’m comfortable playing HIGH or ULTRA graphics because it’s still not that intensive on the gpu. But playing games like cyberpunk, Elden ring, or even the new Star Wars Outlaws, I set it to medium to avoid high thermals. Fan noise is totally fine for me. I have much loader laptops. And once again reducing some of the graphics will help in this area as well.

@@xavi619 I haven’t tested that game unfortunately. But from my understanding it handles low preset smoothly. What I do know is that battery life on the v3 isn’t great. But if you have a 65watt power bank you can unlocked some great performance by leaving it in 28w tdp mode.

@@zyzzuschrist3410 the ROG Ally X is probably the best handheld for RDR2. The balance between performance and battery life is amazing. No device can beat the X in battery life, not even the steam deck. Here’s the video I used on different settings to find the best sweet spot for RDR2 on the Ally X. @@zyzzuschrist3410 Asus g14 2024 or Asus G16 ga605. I have videos on my review on my channel. I didn’t cover RDR2 in the videos. However I recently started a new game of RDR2 and I can say both of those laptops would be great. Extremely portable with a perfect balance of power. Currently loving the G16 AMD for RDR2. Big beautiful OLED screen. Powerful. Great battery life.

@@yanndev9450 don’t worry about battery life. The g16 beats the g14 because the battery is much bigger. Although the screen is larger, the g16 does a great job with battery life. You can really feel the performance of the AI CPU over the 8945hs. It really depends on portability since you are only planning on getting the 4060 models. There really isn’t a huge jump in performance between the 4060 and 4070. Definitely go with the 32gb RAM no matter what especially since you are a student. The 4060 is enough for gaming. Portability comes down to the size and what you are willing to bring around. Obviously the g14 is more portable. For a 14 inch laptop I do not find it to be too small. I still believe the G14 is one of the greatest laptops of all time because of how much they pack into a small frame. The screen is amazing on both these devices. However, once you use the g16 it’s hard to go back to the g14 because of the bigger screen. I don’t really see a huge difference in weight to me. It doesn’t bother me. If you have a nice bag or backpack to carry a 16 inch laptop then great. It’s still very thin and not thick at all. But overall the g16 is amazing. Battery life is wildly good. Screen size is a huge plus. My recommendation to you to get the max performance is if you get either the g14 or g16 install ghelper instead of the ASUS armoury crate software. You’ll get a better performing machine. Also, go grab the small silicone laptop prop to get better airflow while working on a flat surface. It’s not necessary but it helps with thermals. I’ll be doing a video on this shortly. Hope this helps.

@@GamerVsTech thank you very much for the detailed answer! I'll go see the g14 in a shop tomorrow to know if 14" is enough or not. If it's too small to game on, I might go for the g16. Also, the fact that the screen of the g14 is 3k while the one on the g16 is 2.5k makes almost no difference right ? Anyway, if the battery life and cooling is better on the g16 ai, I'll probably go for it !! (And return it to Asus if it's not as good as expected) However, is the G16 as silent as the G14 ? Aren't the triple fans messing things up? Finally, I own a razer laptop stand (and I have an external keyboard), I guess this will do the job for the airflow ? Thanks again :)

@@XGiveMeLibertyX right?? 4070 is plenty for me. But I can’t see some people’s need for the 4090.

@@GaeThanos60 for your use case I’d definitely pick the g16. The g16 is thinner and quieter than the m16. So for taking it around school it’s definitely more portable. It also has significantly better battery life than the m16. I think the g16 truly is a great all around machine. It’s not the most powerful. But it has the battery life, screen, portability, and performance in the best form factor.

@@GamerVsTech idk from what I’ve seen not much of a difference and if it does the size isn’t there for this X1 player . The size just ruins it . This is great if you’re at home not on the go. Someone would look silly somewhere public playing on that giant thing. It does look cool though . But same as all these handhelds over time they start playing like every other older handheld

@@ashykutcher no issues at all. I’ve always swapped my mediatek cards out for Intel. However, both the g14 and g16 have given me the fastest speeds I’ve ever seen on my home network. Over 1200 mbps.

@@fruitypops4ever485 totally agree. And yes. I think OneX was thinking people would be using this more as a 3-N-1 and that the consumer wasn’t going to care about it. However, I do find it annoying that it’s covered seeing how only use it as a handheld device.

@@Dragorus360 they are very different. The x1 has more power. But the minisforum has vrr and can be smoother and it has a native landscape display. I like playing on the V3 more. Especially with a 65 watt power bank.

@@GamerVsTech Nice. Can you do a frame rate comparison in some games for us? My use scenario will be in bed or couch always with a power supply and sometimes on vacation. I'm really concerned of the loseness of the controllers on the X1. Are there any mods or fixes or inserts that can resolve the spacing?

@@Dragorus360 will do. If seen some people do some mods to increase the contact of the controllers to the device. However, eventually it scratches the device. I currently have been using my V3 as a handheld with the gamesir g8 +. Not the Galileo version. On my channel I have a video showcasing some of the controllers and mods you can purchase. The mod that I use in that video for the Galileo will also work for the g8+. It is truly amazing. A little heavy but I like it more than the x1

@@WasNotUs the max tdp is 80 watts on the CPU. Although I’ve never seen it get that high.

@@tlandermc562 personally for me no. But I feel that way about every handheld expect for the steam deck. I was born basically with a PlayStation controller in my hand. So nothing is near that. But they do just fine.

@@bradg739 they both get hot to the touch. The vapor chamber will do slightly better and keeping the internals cooler. But since you play non demanding games the AMD version might be your best bet. In battery this thing is super cool. Plugged in on now intensive games it’s not bad either. Hardware thermals are great on the AMD version. It just slightly higher than vapor chamber models. Now that being said, the AMD version will be out in the vapor chamber model. But it’s very hard to find currently and it’s their most expensive model. Hope this helps.

@@bradg739 so per ASUS’s website a vapor chamber is available. However, it’s very non specific. They allude to the higher models having vapor chambers. I cannot confirm this because I haven’t been able to get my hands on one. But their highest spec model is supposed to have it. As soon as I can confirm it I’ll let everyone know.

@@Dragorus360 on battery I ran it at 1200p. That’s to preserve battery life. Theres not a single competitor in this realm that can achieve this battery life at 1200p resolution. I own every major gaming laptop from over the last 4 years. You can play any game in high resolution and get great performance. But battery life will go down. Still beats any laptop out there.

Higher resolution adds more pixel density which helps when rendering lower resolution. Also higher resolution good for desktop too

@@DillsArtThing 4070 is plenty powerful enough for serious gamers. They stopped making the 4080 and 4090 models because not that many people were buying them. They were extremely expensive.

@@asianVinh the amd g16 out performs its intel counter part in every way. The 4060 and 4070 are marginally different. But the AMD cpu vs the Intel is where you want to focus. More battery life. Power efficiency. More powerful at less watts. Less heat. The igpu.

@@GamerVsTech right, that makes sense. I was just asking for your take if the amd performance is worth 300-500 CAD more than the intel counterpart. For context the intel version is 2599 CAD while the amd is around 3-3.2 CAD (have seen varying prices around 3 since its just beginning to come out in canada)

@@GamerVsTech How can we focus on battery life when the intel version can do 10 hours light tasks on battery and your review gives a similar outcome.

​@@asianVinhthe 4070 is probably under 10% difference in performance, notwithstanding the cpu difference, judge the cost difference for yourself, you might find the Intel one on sale before the amd also.

@@motdanny from my research and reaching out to the community the Intel version has a hard time getting 10 hours like you say without the use of ghelper.

@@mobeen369 the bugs work themselves out. So far I hear many of them have been fixed with windows updates. And as long as you keep it in performance mode before you turn it off (will be fixed eventually) Either way I’d pick the AMD and keep the bugs over Intel for power efficiency and performance any day.

@@hadesflames I already know you can charge well past 65w. I use a 145w charger to game hardcore on the go. It really improves performance without being plugged into the wall. I’ll be covering this in my next video.

@@GamerVsTech Well yeah I know it will work past 65w. What I want to know is if it will work at power levels UNDER 70w. A power outlet on a plane is limited to at most 75w. So the laptop will never get more than 65-75 watts out of the AC port from a plane's seat. So considering this is a portable machine, I want to know if when I take it on a plane, will it be able to be charged. If not then I have no use for this machine.
