The 90's was a different time for motorsport. The cars were more intense without limited electronic aid, the tracks were more dangerous and the noise was spectacular! That era may be well behind us now but we can still recreate that energy through modern simulation!
Here's one of my new favorite combos, the McLaren F1 GT1 around Interlagos. The combination of a fast and flowing track with overtaking opportunities everywhere, and a car with no electronic aids makes for some of the most intense racing you'll experience in a sim.

@@chrisparry4461 I have seen this comment about floaty feeling a few time but i don't understand it. On my DD AMS 2 feels more planted then the other big one out there.
Your rig is absolutely unreal. It's so good. Probably the closest I've seen to a true simulation.
I love that when watching your videos it's obvious just how passionate you are about Sim racing. Really makes the videos worth watching
I was sitting stuffing my face with a sandwich with black pudding, fried egg and bacon when i clicked on the video. As you were going around the formation lap I noticed the hands coming off the wheel and I thought "What a cool little detail, the driver is getting ready for the race" and it was not until you pointed out the car in 1st position that I realised I was looking at you and not a computer model. It just shows how awesome your setup is, and how far games have come that I didn't see straight away. Superb.
Also the work he did to get everything matched up correctly.
Lots of tweaking is usually involved to get it right.
This is why i love ams2! This game brings a lot of nostalgia and unusual combinations that we cant see IRL. Combines this with this graphics and we have a lovely result! Amazing content as always! ✌
Awesome race! The McLaren F1 is my favourite from that era, still the fastest naturally aspirated production car to date. Thanks for another year of great content and Merry Christmas!
Every now and then it's so good going for a vintage race on Automobilista 2. I love the retro circuits, it makes me feel like I can live a bit of the vibes of a past that can be even older than myself, or as old as me (1985). A few days ago I raced a vintage F1 race at the old Monza, with double "parabolica", with cars from the 60's. It was awesome ❤
Old monza double parabolica in a 1300 hp 80s f1 car... its the Dark Souls 3 of sim racing hahaha

Nice one Wil, just tried this in VR via my Quest 3 and WOW!! Just awesome, just downloaded the Hockenheimring DLC as well. This has to be one of the best looking VR games , it runs so well , feel like I'm in the car. Great shout mate, G'day.
Fantastic race. GT7 lets me create races where I can pick my competitors, and I have raced similar races with a bunch of CLK's as opponents. I 've done both ways where I am the McLaren F1 and when I am in the CLK. I like th F1's seating position, but I like the CLK's brakes better. Both ways is fun. Your setup with the triple screens looks great.

Hey pal! I was wondering if you knew of any sims that had Group 5 cars, or even TransAm cars (TA1 & TA2)? I love seeing TransAm racing live, as it's about the closest thing to the muscle we're gonna see compared to the old Group 5 cars! I watched a video the other day about Group 5 and now I'm in love lol... basically unrestricted, like their Group B siblings, except made for circuit racing!
Hopefully I'll be finally getting a simrig next year, and was wondering what my sim/game options were...

Very cool and stunning to see how realistic this is. Is it possible to disable the lens flare in the display? It's a bit distracting and you wouldn't see that with your naked eye anyway IRL.

That's available as a mod for AMS2.
It took me more than an entire minute to realize that this is a helmet/head mounted camera inside a triple screen rig and not real life or some kind of insane mixed reality passthrough.
Hi Will ...haven't seen you in a while ...Enjoy your Christmas Brother. I've been racing the 1970's Porche 718 (in AC) ...no nannies & slow enough to be manageable without them. I put AI on 100 & 100 ...Such a nice challenge.
In the meantime I only Play ams2, no other sim. It's awesome! Good AI now, good visuals, good performance especially in VR, and good FFB! ❤

Awesome video man! How did you get such a stable and movement-free view? I have been trying to get this effect for a very long time, but with all the settings I have experimented, there still be a small movement of the head inside the cockpit.
Try this, under Camera/Movement: Use Legacy Head Movement= Yes , All other settings= Off, 0 (zero) or No , Show Helmet= Optional to you. Happy New Year.

I just bought my 1st sim racing kit. Which game/sim should I start with ? I have access to both PC and xbox, and so far only have Forza motorsports through game pass..
What does everyone think about AMS2 now, is it worth buying?? Also how do you go on set up wise with all the different cars?

I have been sim racing for 20 years! and AMS2 is my favourite sim now, the physics updates were a game changer. Asseto was my go to for years. I think the FFB is more fun in AMS2 but asseto's FFB is more true to life but not by a lot compared to AMS2 ,I have done track days in open wheelers, been drifting and have tried rally x in real life, I have a fair understanding as to what the FFB needs to be doing to emulate a real car.

I've been looking into getting into AM2. But as a GT7 driver I feel completely lost at the moment with how to start. It would be good if you could do some videos for new drivers in AM2, particularly with a view point from those coming from console and are not used to PCs..
It is pretty straight forward. Buy the game with the season pass with all the dlcs. Pretty much ready to go. After you can download ams2 content manager if you want some mods (skins, cars, drivers name, tracks…) you juste drag files in the content manager and that’s it

This is very good, but still to clean, to be real. When youn drive the wind shield has a bit more reflections ythan you see here.

The lack of driver aids has nothing to do with the year - it was just the regulation. TCS, ABS and ESP existed long before in other race classes.

I know this is kind of nitpicky but whenever the roof of the car doesnt show on the top of your screens it kinda breaks immersion, seeing the corners of the monitors and not the dark roof/dark room meld together kinda breaks it. @@boostedmedia

Once you see the "reflectors" that go between the monitors, cant unsee. I can never tell if i like them or not because once i know theyre there, its more annoying than just having thin bezels.
