Automobilista 2 recently released their latest major updates, and with them comes the new Adrenaline Pack DLC, which among other things gives you access to what I think is the best Rallycross simulation we've ever seen in a racing sim.

That sim rig is so seamless. In places it was tricking me into thinking you were driving a real Mini. Very well done. 👍
AMS2 has been my “alternative” sim to acc for a while, with great variety, graphics and dynamic track conditions. Now they’ve got the handling much better, it’s a leading sim that need to keep developing becoming more robust and building its user base.
The AI is continuing to be tweaked over the coming weeks, they’ve not been fully tuned for rally x yet.
The Rally racing is great fun, very intense in VR. The first time my motion rig took off over that jump in Spa and then landed with a thump put a huge smile on my face :)
That looks proper fun. This Adrenaline pack for Automobilista 2 really mixes it up and adds some more value to the platform! Great visuals to!
Havent been on AMS2 in a while but after watching this I'm definitely gonna be loading it up. Game looks incredible!

Absolutely loved that! Disappointing that the AI isn’t up to snuff but watching you go around the track was really fun!

The brilliant graphics and weather effects come from one of the most hated (and misunderstood or controversial) sims: Slightly Mad Studios Project Cars. Automobilista 2 uses the PCars graphics engine.
I have to be honest, the main complains about PCars 1 and 2 were about the physics and the support, but we have to be thankfull for that sim that now we have one the most realistic and beatiful graphics for our entertainment.
I thought I'd purchase this to go with the new mega update... totally superb fun !

The AI and the handbrake needs a bit of work but this is still the best experience I have ever had in VR.
Ever tried Dirt Rally 2 or even Dirt Rally 1? Very fun.
@@GT1GT Yes, this is better for rallyrcoss, feels much tighter and better FFB. Not to mention the control/menu scheme .
@@GT1GT Having over 500 hrs in DR2 and finishing and having several top 50 finishes in large leagues I can safely say that DR2 is still my favorite sim today. When I say best experience in VR I'm not just talking about sim racing. For me Tykki dirt 2 in a Thunderstorm on a 4090 and Quest Pro Is simply the best vr graphics in Sim racing and the experience that wowed me the most since Half-Life Alyx. I wish that experiences like that would be more affordable so that everybody could really see the potential of VR.
Try some online lobbies:) I did one with 13 cars at Ascurra and it was a blast, total carnage though. Damage model has had some work, there were bits of car everywhere.
ARC cars on Ascura are a fun combo.

I don't know about how accurately it mimics the physics of rain, but the look was amazing.

Since you gave drifting a try, I thought the next thing you should try next is a Rally. I'd love to see you try Dirt Rally or 2.
Have done a few rally videos a while back but do need to revisit.

Why would you recommend this over AC? I'm trying to decide between the two.
@@eeeeyuke depends if you like spending a LOT of time looking for the right mods, which vary in quantity. AMS2 you pay more, but its all there and easier to get going.
I wouldn’t say the best overall… there is no best overall. Iracing still has the best multiplayer racing. So some would call it the best for that reason alone. But it may lack in other areas compared to others.
@@eeeeyuke AC is cheap as dirt & cool if you want to play single player but is a massive pain in the ass to setup & is basically dead online unless youre into drifting or practice laps
AMS2 is expensive but works out of the box & couldnt be easier to jump into a race online with or without friends
you will hear people carrying on about the FFB & physics... i race in both alot & if both are setup correctly there isnt much seperating them since AMS2's 1.5 patch, AC arguably still feels better in regards to what you feel the car doing but AMS2's FFB feels alot more modern with the rubber on road sensation

Was... RX is now back to Mettet but Spa was a great track too.

What kind of wheel are you using there? Is it "real" wheel with some kind of hub?
Did you make any changes to the wheelbase or in game FFB settings to accomodate the different steering techniques? If so would you be so kind as to share them.,
I didn't for this video but I will probably try and speed up the responsiveness a touch.
AMS team trying hard to get that virtual le mans bid. But the game has definitely got a lot better since last mega update. I don't know how much difference it made for people using wheels and pedals but the gyro+controller has improved massively. I can actually drive full races now without having any controller issues lol
Going to be a loonng road to get that done since they don't have half the cars required for that race. Are they just going to pump out generic models of all these cars to make it happen?
What a tape you have between your screens?
It'd be great if you could set up the camera in a way that makes it seem like you are looking at the road ahead rather than looking down at your steering wheel. You can't even see the top of your windshield in this one.
Which VR headset do you use for this ? Or is this just your rig with a camera mounted somewhere ?

So, i just spent a ton on a gaming pc, so software options are limited. I'm trying to decide between AC and AMB 2. If you had to recommend just one, which is it and why? iRacing is out due to price and ACC wasnt as recommended as the original.
AC has a lot of mods, making it probably one of the best looking racing games straight up, and a lot of the most realistic cars are actually mods. So I'd say AC just for that, but there are a couple other reasons why, one being the very good FFB
AMS2 is really fun, but I would say if I was training for a car track day, I would trust AC for being more realistic. AC is arguably the most realistic sim, and the mods RSS mods are great.
@@Username_Invalid not sure that's true anymore. AC has a very old tire model. And is the OP training for a track day? I think he us just wanting to play a good sim game? I play both btw and have no idea which is more realistic as I've never driven a real race car. AMS2 is more plug and play, AC you will need to dive deep into mods to get to the same place.
Ams2 is a brilliant sim with good graphics, sounds, ffb, lots of variety and physics that are now up to par with every other sim out there. AC has more content in the form of mods if you're willing to tinker with it since mod quality varies wildly and you need to install mods for many basic functions. I'd reccomend ams2 if you're just starting out since it's the more complete package, but don't sleep on ac.

I've given up on Automobilista 2. I just can't get the FOV right with my triple setup. Even though I have tried so many times. I don't understand why you can't set it directly ingame.

It's the 'Extra Brake' binding.
@@mickt3255 is it the actual handbrake? I thought it was still a regular brake
@@brandonduncan8064 Yes, it's the handbrake where a car has one. It got called 'Extra Brake' when they added the MP4/12 - the F1 car with an extra brake pedal.

Ive been to the rallyX event at spa 2 times, the second time it wasn´t sponsered by monster energy and it was super boring event besides the racing. No shops no shows. And the new electric cars make the sport look stupid in a way.
You have to work on your drift skills that was really bad
