    You never buy a fast Ford because you want a plush interior. If you want a nicer interior get a Golf or a BMW, an Audi or a Merc. You buy a fast Ford because of the driving experience and the fact they always put a huge smile on your face.

    Ford make some great value sports cars. Takes me back to my younger days. GT Cortina, Capri RS 3100, Escort Mexico and a highly tuned 1600 Anglia. The Focus RS is a modern take in the same tradition of affordable drivers cars. Mountune adds to the fun but I can't say I'm keen on the excessive pops and bangs though. Great car and nice to see it on the channel. Cheers Steff.

    This is a really good car as I also own one and love it. I had some issues with the clutch which was due to the master cylinder not beig fitted well by Ford however it has been a joy ride otherwise. Just a small correction: you asked James if the pops and bangs are due to the mountune tune and he said "yes"...well considering he kept the exhaust stock and only changed the inter cooler, air filter and intake tube - the car pops and bang with the stock version alone so it is not unique to mountune tuning but it is actually a Ford signature on the car. It comes popping and banging on stock that is

      Adam Phillips but it wasn't just some of the earlier models, if anything it was all cars up until the last run. In fact it affected so many cars there was a long waiting list for people to bring them back. Unless you personally worked on the development of the car don't take it personally mate.

    • @moonchild666
      @moonchild666 Před 4 lety +3

      I'm not angry about the situation, I'm tired of seeing this mentioned on nearly every RS related thread. Adam is right. The later units rolled off the production line with the correct gasket fitted so were unaffected.
      Ford did drop the ball with the initial error, but to their credit recalled every affected vehicle and replaced the gasket. Any subsequent failures were almost certainly due to shoddy workmanship during this process, or simply pushing the unit beyond 500bhp without any other modifications. Sadly too many people have got hold of this story, twisted it, and seem hell bent on giving this excellent car a bad name.
      It's old news, please move on.

    • @bonk352
      @bonk352 Před 2 lety +2

      The A45 may be an excellent car especially for those who are 50+ (or very mature younger people), but they are likely to be one of the most boring, probably even more so than a VW Golf R. A "hyper hatch" performance car should excel the best hot hatches in every department whether it's for fun, excitement, agility or a lower yet comfortable ride, good gearing ratio, low down torque. It needs to have the feeling of "take off" upon full acceleration, so the driver has to concentrate. Interior comfort is a bonus such as moderately firm sports front seats and softer rear seats. Ideally a 2.5 5 cylinder engine.
