520 hp is old news, there are plenty of 600 WHEEL horse power focus RS's that are reliable. The clutch is heavy but they are built to last. Mountune has done a good job but I feel like they could be doing more.
They are working on a 680 package at the moment... not sure if that will make you sit up and take notice?

I own a 17 plate mk3 Rs ( dream science, approx 400 bhp ) I love the car ! But this 520 just looks like it’s too much power , looked like you were struggling to get the power down in 3rd, ok the roads looked a little damp granted, and i doubt its a mapping fault
Be fun on a boiling hot day, sticky tarmac & sticky tyres no doubt
Me personally, I’m thinking of getting mine forged at devil developments ( £1500 less than mountune) & then looking into the 450 mountune turbo kit ( if it’s ever back in stock, like most of the items on the website 🙄)
Think it's Down to having cup 2 tyres on a cold wet day. The 4s would be much better in these conditions. I've seen an m520 have no issues with traction on dry tarmac.

Unless its registered as a 2020 focus rs and was assigned a vin from that year, it is not a 2020. Final production year was 2019. Since this car is white, final year for production was 2017.

I own an RS. R34 without a doubt
I’m a M400R owner. 520PS is a step too far for an RS in my opinion and a lot of reviews so far seem to say the same. Very pricey upgrade and not including the essential brakes, suspension or LSD that you’ll need to tame 520PS. £35K-40K btw will also get you a 500PS Alfa Guilia QV. Food for thought...

@@goonytunes4119 I don't think so you need to drive 1, 400 Bhp fwd is to much power unless warm and dry, and 400bhp rwd is the same and as 85% of the time it rains in the uk I'll stick with my rs cheers steve 😀
@@STEVEBHPDEVON driven plenty of 400 HP cars, some with AWD, a modified RS being one of them. AWD has never excited me at that power level considering the weight of these cars.

A simple tune is good, the RS was developed at 385 anyway and they are cheap. But going to this level is another thing entirely, you certainly need to be committed to spend this sort of money but if you do, it’s well worth it.
Mine has the m400r I beat a rs4 v8/s5 3.0 easy aswell cheers steve 😀👍
Steve BHP DEVON I’m happy with the dreamscience map.. I really couldn’t justify spending 15k for 100 more bhp I know they do a lot of work to the engine.. but it’s very expensive to me 💎👍

Don't understand why this car makes an Audi RS3 "no longer quick", of course, the RS3 is still quick. In fact, I bet a standard DSG RS3 is quicker to 60 mph than this RS Focus
I doubt a 400HP car can beat a 520 one to 60, even with DSG. The stock Golf R with DSG barely beats the RS to 100 and that's a measly 45 HP difference.
_Although_ I think there's one point that would work against the RS. I think that the AWD system in this car is not handling that amount of power well judging by the way it spins its wheels. So it's definitely not that easy to guess which gets to 60 the fastest.
@@xIcarus227 there is no comparison between the s3 or golf r versus the rs3.
For quarter mile, the focus rs is about 13.5 secs, the golf r and s3 are 12.9 sec but the rs3 is 11.7. I have an s3 and rs3. I'll bet the rs3 is still quicker than this focus as it's still manual.
The golf r and s3 use the same dsg box I think. But the rs3 uses a different one to cope with the extra power.
Can the transmission really handle all that power?
I would guess so, Mountune work in conjunction with Ford on many of their products so it should be fine.

I bet this car isn’t 520hp mountune I had a 215hp mountune and when I put it on a dyno it only made 199hp so it was down 16hp
I’ve seen the independent dyno sheets from three different rolling roads for this car and it had a minimum of 518hp, one read it at 537, the other 522.
Focus rs is nice but u can’t compare that to a audi rs3 diffrent machine
Jimmy Adam Focus RS is for drivers, RS3 is for posers. I’ve driven both and the RS3 is boring to drive compared to the focus.
That’s very correct Richard. They are very different but also very similar. I love my Magnetic RS. It definitely isn’t going anywhere soon!

Nice but I would still rather have my audi rs3 saloon. Focus rs looks horrible inside, outside looks tacky and as for the poor build quality that really puts me off...things like the usb port don't even line up properly. Only good thing is the manual gearbox.
£15k hahahahaha, that's moronic. I can upgrade my rs3 to 500bhp albeit alot less torque but it cost £500.

The engine is totally reworked and strengthened on this m520, it’ll still be going for a long time!
It needs 520bhp just 2 keep up with a standard rs3 or a45 with that gearbox. I love ford but they have done nothing exciting since the 90s with there lovely rs turbos. I'm waiting 2 b blown away my ford 1 day but not yet.
You compair this with an RS3. Dont!. Anyone can spend 20.000 plus on any car and make it go fast. But you change the whole dynamics of the car. You said it put your foot down and it will end up in a hedge. Too much bhp for that car. And what ever you spend on it. Its not an RS3,

In The Headlights I run Bridgestone Potenza RE71r, and have a clutchmasters Fx350... lol. Low 3’s isn’t happening. It’s low 4’s high high 3’s
