Check out Dick Johnson ford Sierra cosworth, back in the day Mountune made big reliable numbers with GRP A touring cars and were able to just about keep the R32 gtr’s honest.
Latterly they brought the engines over to the British touring car championship and won that as well.

I came from the vw side of cars. Didn’t know much about the st but fell in love with a 2017 Focus st and bought it. Started looking into upgrades and kept seeing RS when I was typing Focus. So I clicked on RS one day and was immediately pissed off I never heard of them and didn’t get one instead! Always hella jealous when I see them.
Ditto ! I am about to get Mountune to install an LSD in my Focus ST , it is my first car with out an LSD and it is hard to deal with out one !! especially with rain and snow and pulling the boat out of the water

CJK20 don’t waste your time m8 I only kept mine 3 months and bought another rs mk2 Focus. The mk2 is in my opinion better looking sounding and gets far more attention than the mk3

U get the most power and boost in track mode..but drift mode also gives u that boost response but that mode controls the transfer of the power n boost differently witch is to be expected if ur drifting.. My opinion track mode is the best performance you will get out the car if u wanna see what it can do as of a factory tune. This car made me speechless amazing performance but the handling hands down is what impressed me the most 🔥 car and anyone that say well it just a focus drive it then make a comment.

@@davidnichol7077 for me yes👍 it's what tuning company your in to I think the r&d mountune put in is more than others, other companies make more power and torque for cheaper but would rather has a safe power than just big numbers even know bigger numbers are better and think it slightly better for re-sale value for me cheers steve 👍

JCR make a seat lowering frame to lower the seats but it loses rear leg room, and like he said getting in and out is easier if you are old! lol

stock engines, especially before they sorted the head gasket issue, sadly weren't very strong. Guys in the states are using the ST 2L platform, forging them and getting more reliable figures
Dale Steel Blew one stock engine and one tuned engine by Mountune in Essex (FPM375, intercooler, Sport springs, charge pipes, secondary intake, short shift, cat back exhaust)
Second engine had the upgraded head gasket. Both engines got me a combined 6,000 miles

There’s a reason people stick to the VAG/BMW crew over a FRS. 15-20k of mods to make 520bhp is unfortunately out of most people’s budgets at that level.
They need longer gears so the crappers can actually build boost
Although i am fan of awd i think the only problem with this car is that is not so hot as the mk1 amd mk2 rs...
Cool car but think you have to be a proper Ford guy to A. Spend a lot of money in the first place on a relatively new car
And
B. Spend 18k on modifications!
Just the price on modifications would get you a properly sorted EVO, add the cost of the car on top and your talking GTR's/AMG's/M cars etc etc. Just something that always comes to mind when I hear prices like this, however I'm glad there are cars like this out there still being produced and at the end of the day each to there own 😊 TBH though I prefer the MK2 better looking and better engine.

Dale Steel don’t know about the st180 but the 5 pots are reliable to what i know. I was meaning to get this sort of power your really need to spend money and forge the engine other platforms can make that power on a standard engine with a few bolt ons

Worth pointing out that car has 15grand of performance mods, on a 31k car. That puts you in M/RS/AMG territory.
Yeah with another 100bhp+ and way better handling. Yeah the Germans have nicer interiors but I know what I'd rather blast down a B road.
