What? There's nothing unique about this goal at all. It's actually a goal you can see many times in different variations. It's a nice goal but the last thing that comes to mind is it being unique
@user-ve7hn2dh8h It's unique because first of all that was a great shot that curled around the keeper, and secondly he can do that with BOTH FEET, and can score on any side just like that.

This was probably the best match of the tournament. In a World Cup, that was flodded by games that where incredibly focused on defense, Germany and the Netherlands where both going forward and showed hunger for goals. Not to mention the atmosphere about these 2 rivals, with players from Inter and Ac Milan on both sides playing in the San Siro. What more do you want?
Also, Klinsmann played the best game for Germany in this Match.
looking back the WC 1990 was actually one of the best since 1982 because I have seen worse, like 2002, 2010, 2018 and even 2006 was not that much better since many games went either through penalty shoot outs or some boring defensive outcome football. But what made the WC 1990, 94, 86 and 82 so great was the amount of all time greats that played in those tournaments with some of the most memorable games and goals ever scored. Like I said I can hardly remember any game from 2002, 2010 and not even 2018, maybe except for France vs Argentina.

What Riikarrd did was upsetting at the time I was a teenager and when I saw him spit not once but twice on Rudi it upset me so much till this day when I watch that upsets me how one individual can go so low to the point of disrespecting the other in the most shameful acts one can commit. I SURE hope he apologized for this to Rudi.
I understand, but you also have to remember the hate that fueled these matches between the Dutch and the Germans. From the 1950s to the 1990s this specific match-up was super bitter and became as passionate as derbies given the history of the two countries and their relationship with each other. Riikaard wasn't justified, but at the time it's not surprising.
I have an opinion different from you, what can make Rijkaard so angry to spit twice? I watch the foul very carefully again, Rijkaard tackle towards the ball, it was clean, Rijkaard's leg didn't move, Voller could jump to avoid to fall, but Voller didn't, he let his leg to touch Rijkaard's leg and fall down spectaculate, a kind of acting, really dishonest behavior in the field, rare at that time, but popular now, that caused a yellow card and Rijkaard's angry! it's voller did bad first, Ref is right to send off both.
Once Rijkaard got booked he was missing next match and his motivation is that he wants Voller to miss next match also and the only way he can do that was to get both sent off.

It was great to see Gullit and Klinsmann exchange shirts after the match. Especially after the incident in the first half and a match with quite many fouls.

This brings back memory to my teenage years. I remember again now for the incident between Rijkaard and Voeller. And yes, I still cannot understand why Voeller was also sent off. If the VAR had already existed at the time maybe the story would be different.
Jurgen Klinsmann is a great German striker.
He scored in all six major tournaments he participated in and is an amazing player who has scored more than three points in three World Cup tournaments in a row.
Andreas Breme is a perfect defender. "Kaiser" Franz Beckenbauer also did not spare praise, and in the 1990 World Cup in Italy, he successfully completed his role in leading the team's victory by scoring decisive goals in the tournament.
Lautar Matteus, the team's leader, also showed the pinnacle of the box-to-box midfielder and decorated it with the brightest competition in all aspects, including determination, passion and surprise mid-range shot coordination.

El mejor partido de Italia 90 de lejos. Gullit jugó bien a pesar de no anotar, estuvo presente en todo el campo de juego. La otra cara de la moneda fue Van Basten, pésimo partido el suyo. Yo recordaba claramente que este fue un partidazo cuando lo vi por TV en 1990 pero había olvidado que Holando dominó todo el primer tiempo y los primeros 10 minutos del segundo. La diferencia fue el temperamento de Alemania y la habilidad de 3 piezas clave: Klinsmann (que le ganó por goleada el duelo a Van Basten), Matthaus y Brehme... el trío del Inter de Milan.
