Yarraji was unjustly disqualified and Wui was claiming that it was bcuz of Yarraji that she started too, whereas it was clearly the other way round (as visible from the replay). I remember the commentators mentioning how she had the maximum chances of winning the race or smth. She stood her ground firmly. But imagine how that would have affected her mental focus! She could have won the gold medal but then this drama happened. Thankfully she still won Silver. But what happened with her was very unfortunate.

Unfortunately boomers and people that wrote the rules and trying to keep the tradition going are the first people that need to get disqualified. Technologies that records exact time in 1/10000 existed since long time. Why not let these athletes decide when to start themselves to begin with and simply record their time? Like starting together would change a thing. It's no longer about first person to cross. It's more about lowest running time. An easily fixable problem that they refuse to fix to keep boomers useless traditions going in a world moving toward more advanced technologies. Us an engineer and a researcher. The problem are the organisers. Rules are ment to be broken and rewritten. Sure if they race in cars. A vehicle that have different speed. But these racers speed is constant. Wouldn't change much. @@othc44 It is not first time China got busted for cheating or special tactics, when you represent the whole country your carry countries reputation with you. Do you see individual win or country win? You can't separate those two.
Can you say that Russian were not different when they got disqualified for doping?

@@litoaykiu ofc they are representants of the country, but they are human after all, not all Chinese are cheaters and not all cheaters are Chinese, bullshitting isn't a valid choice for cope

That call to the ccp representative for the event asking if her parents were important enough they could disqualify her must’ve not been good for her

Imagine persuading the judges to ignore your first false start, only to do the exact same thing when they rerun the race and get disqualified for it XD

The part where the athlete gets to review the footage seems like the least absurd part to me. She was protesting, so maybe showing her the footage and where exactly you see the false start makes her accept it better

It happens at workplace too. I always saw or experienced myself when my Chinese colleague (from China) always blame others instead of himself after any mistakes he did
