I still remember everyone laughing at this scene in the cinema at how awesomely over the top it was. If you walked past you'd think we were watching a comedy movie.
There were a bunch of channels like Wisecrack, Cinemasins, Cinemawins & FilmJoy/Movies with Mikey. Did a deep dive into the trilogy. Mostly this one & god there are just so many homages & little love letters to Buster Keaton films sprinkled throughout. I don’t know how I never noticed it until after it was pointed out. Especially in the beginning of Parabellum they’re playing Buster Keaton on the screens in Time Square. So yeah the comedic almost borderline slapstick in some of the choreography was just perfect.
That's how well made this film is.

The part from 1:37 to 1:56 is so unbelievably well choreographed. One of the few times throughout these movies where Keanu moves as fast and as clean as he did in the Matrix. Warvvolf It’s not a knife shop, it’s a museum. Keanu is the guy who can bring a knife to a gun fight and still win
Even a gunshot can still take a while to really put someone out of a fight. So, you can actually get shot, ignore it because of the adrenaline preventing you from feeling part of the pain, stab or slash the shooter and only THEN get in shock because of the pain, ruptured organs or blood loss. The only gunshot wounds that are guaranteed to INSTANTLY incapacitate you are the ones that hit with enough BLUNT FORCE on the center of your mass, the ones that pierce your heart or cerebellum (instant DEATH) or instantly rupture a bone, nerve or sinew in the limb that you were attacking with (the arm you were using to shoot your gun/attack with your knife/punch your enemy, or the leg you were using to kick/run/stand still).

But still, realistic for Hollywood standards.
@@kevinc6217 i guess they were just tired asf at that point. u can see the fighitng becoming sloppy towards the end which makes sense
I love how John Wick deals with them. Deflect one, fight the other, and the 2 fighting together does, get deflected regain composure, and fight. It’s also worth noting that they don’t attack together since even on a 2 vs 1 you have more things to worry about like hitting your partner or getting in the way of your partner.
So many beautiful little details. At one point in that sequence he deals with one of them for a while as the other one is struggling to stand, and you can see him realize that the other one might have stood up by now, so he briefly looks behind him to make sure he's not about to get attacked from behind.
John wick 1: Kills men with guns
John wick 2: Kills man with pencil

John wick 5: kills people with bottle cap

I like how it took them a second to realizes they are surrounded by knives.
Stabbing in eye man....!!! That's so terrifying....
No music, no over-dramatic closeups. Just. Action. The way it should be.
I know, the music-less scene makes it much more suspenseful
Music isn’t always a bad thing. It can help give an action scene pacing and more style.
Faxxx
J. Vinton Exactly what I told my family when we watched this days ago. The lack of music made it all the better
Anyone who's trained in knife fighting can tell you......
you never want to be in a knife fight....lmao
Because no matter how good you are. You're still gunaa get gored. You just hope the other is worse
@usher luck The best fighters are the ones who don't want to fight; because they know how brutal it can/will be.
Yup.
Cause unlike empty hand strikes, knives don't need perfect, well timed, well placed or proper technique and movement to do damage.
Anyone can pick up a knife and start swinging away.
Non trained fast swings n thrusts are still very lethal.
No power required to cut or slice.
Rule 1.) you WILL get cut 2.) it’s better to block with your arm and be stabbed through the arm rather than somewhere lethal, don’t be afraid to sacrifice your arm for your life
hahahahah you watch too much John Wick movies you a good knife fighter hahahahaha gtfo here
I remember everyone in the cinema laughing at this scene I loved this movie on the big screen
I love that it's no music in this scene. Helps you capture the moment
In John wick 4 he’s gonna kill somebody with AirPods lol
stab them in his ear
or with an eraser
Keanu Reeves: Write that down, WRITE THAT DOWN
He killed a man with a book in this movie, so... yeah
In John whick 5 he kills someone with a marble. Discussion?
Multiple guys: *Trying to kill John Wick*
*John Wick:* _So you _*_ALL_*_ have chosen death._
I love your choice of words. Brilliant!
@@jomontanee thank you :D
What kind of idiot chooses to bring a gun to a john wick fight?
@@thewootpanda One who chose death :)
Francis and jimmy were the only smart motherfuckers in this whole trilogy
john wick keeps his homework complete and leaves nothing
1:44
I like how he just slaps him
Damn this knife fights is badass af.
Thank God for body armor
i saw it today! and it was amazing
I saw the movie and the movie is just one of the most action realistic movies ever.
I like how they show that John can’t dodge and block every punch so sometimes he has to choose where and when to get hit. It’s a nice detail to explain how he can overwhelm 3-4 guys at once. He gets hurt too. He just doesn’t get knife-in-eye hurt.
He has like 4 stab wounds around the front of his chest by the end of the fight. His black coat was bullet proof and stab proof, he used it a lot including using his arm to block shots because the sleeves also were protected by the coat.
That’s a fighting style. There’s certain ways to take a hit that is more effective that trying to dodge the hit, since dodging a hit can result in you getting hit while dodging.
2:17 Issei Sagwa Got Stabed on his Skull
Agree
another detail i love is how the fight drags on, but Wick gets more accurate and deadlier with the knives even after getting tagged ONCE by the attackers. he ultimately shrugs it off and just annihilates them with pinpoint accuracy. he's clearly on that next level
This wasn’t even the centerpiece of the movie but it felt like one
This and the dog fight scene were highlights for me.
