WHY ARE YOU SO PRETTY THE TOP THE WAVY HAIR EVERYTHING
Aww thank you!!!! 💛💛💛
One of my biggest TV influences is Sailor Moon, which I rewatched when I was 17. It has gay and lesbian relationships (if you watch the Japanese original, as they changed that in the dub), male characters that look like women, one character who give strong trans-masc vibes and, in the last season, male characters that turn into women and back. It was one of the series that made me lean into feminine media.
Another is Ugly Betty. It has a lot of gay characters and one trans woman. Big warning being issued here, because it does not portray that accurately, she's played by a cis actress, and the rest of the cast call her slurs and comment on her manly features all the time (which she also doesn't really have), but for some reason it has worked as a comfort show for me despite that. I still related to her and the rest of the cast, and especially Betty, even though I don't have a lot in common with her.
Just before I started realizing I was actually trans, I discovered Ever After High, which is a show for little girls, but that is surprisingly good even for adults. If you want to, it's easy to interpret the whole story as a trans metaphor. It's about the sons and daughters of famous fairy tale characters who have to learn to become exactly like their parents, but some are starting to rebel against that and choose their own paths. The characters meant so much to me, despite only starring in 4 minute episodes, and they manage to get so deep into the characters in that runtime.
Sorry, I don't have time for editing this comment, I think it's all over the place, but I hope it makes some sense anyway^^;
It makes total sense!!! Thank you so much for sharing some shows that are really special to you! I've never seen Ever After High, but I am familiar with it, and it sounds like a lot of fun! I still have a few episodes of Sailor Moon on VHS 😂 good times 💛
I watched Fruits basket, Card Captor Sakura, Sailor Moon.
You pretty
As a teen in the 90s the “trans representation” of the era specifically made me think I wasn’t trans as I had no desire to steal dolphins or wear skin or trap men
Love the video and glad to see you making videos on interesting cultural talking points
Thank you so much! I wasn't sure how people would respond to something a little different, like this, but it was a fun one for me to do! Yeahhh. I'm very fortunate to have grown up in a socially-evolving world, but even still, the "representation" I had was very harmful and misleading. Glad we're STARTING to do better
I had Kim Possible as someone I wanted to be like, aside from music videos on MTV - but it certainly didn't help with realizing I could be like that, considering the actual supposedly trans characters were such incredibly harmful stereotypes.
@@miau384 I still aspire to be Kim Possible. I had such a crush on her as a little kid 😂
Lol I always had a “want to be with/just want to be” with just about any blonde villainess ever
@@veronicaveeroniThe eternal transbian conundrum: want be with or want be?
Good to see a video!
Thank you!! Fun to be making 'em again :)
okay i totally just watched the first two seasons of Harley Quinn and aaaaaAA it is soo good! i never thought i would connect with villains so much lol
also i can soo see you in Harley or Harley in you, however you put it
(also i feel v gay rn ^^)
Any chance you could to a vid on good tops for tranfem? Theres a sever lack of them and your so fun. Pretty plz :P
Honestly wish, I was more impacted by media at a younger age , I was so ignorant throughout my life , I didn’t even know gay people existed till I was around the age of 12-13 when I saw a man wearing a purse along with his significant other ( and wow did that boggle my mind ) I didn’t know of pronouns till was around 17-18, and it wasn’t till college when I explored the sides of me I never knew existed , along the way there was so much toxicity and rejection , but I finally came to accept myself , only because of a near death experience which left me in a position to grab my life by the reins for once in my life or else life would swallow me whole hold of my life , I’ve always lived as a observer all throughout my life, I’ve always been complacent , “yes ma’am , yes sir” and for the first time in my life I feel confident when I go out , I recognize that person in the mirror , I can finally say that I’m happy to be me (: I still struggle don’t get me wrong but it’s amazing to feel alive , when for so many years you didn’t even know who you were , and your own reflection was alien , I wish I had the resources that were available today , to all the young people and even older people , it’s never too late to be you , some of you are in circumstances, but let me tell you something , it’s gonna hurt when it all crumbles down , that wall that was barely being kept up , but your gonna feel a million times stronger
When you become true to yourself and accept yourself , whatever the outcome , just remember nothing matters more on this earth then being true to the soul within your shell , he/she/they/them is waiting for you , be with them ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is so beautiful, and I'm so grateful to get a read a bit of your story. Thank you so so much for sharing this!!!! I am SO happy for you!!!! 🥳🥳💛💛💛
That's great, I hope you find the right man for you.
Could you do a video in where and how to get started on transition please
My start was uniquely complicated, but I can say that (in the US at least) getting a referral from a primary care provider to a mental health professional and someone who can prescribe hormones is usually a great first step, if HRT is your goal! You can also ask any of those professionals for recommendations about surgeries
@@boonewilliams5338 oh thanks❤♥
@@Kiyushia of course!! :)
@@boonewilliams5338 the only thing im truly scared is if the surgery will hurt a lot after
@@Kiyushia assuming you mean bottom surgery, pain is definitely a part of the process, and I don't want to downplay that, but with a good care team, the medication should help immensely. This is all stuff you can talk to professionals about, and that will hopefully help with any anxiety. :) I also vlogged my entire surgery experience, and there are lots of other people who have done the same and talked about what it was like!
Any possibility you've seen She-Hulk on Disney+ lately? I'm a huge fan of Marvel and even more of a fan of anything Hulk, especially She-Hulk. But ye, any opinions?
Oo I haven't, but maybe I should check it out? I love Marvel and specifically The Hulk too, but I haven't seen any of the new Disney+ series
While taking Estrogen pills can you please explain about the hips flaring up
Do you mean changes to the size of the hips? When on estrogen, the fat to muscle ratio is changed, and fat is redistributed throughout the body, which can make hips a bit bigger
@@boonewilliams5338 my hips feel very warm
@@terrancewagner164 hmm. I've not experienced nor heard of that. I would ask your doctor
@@boonewilliams5338 my hips feel warm and it feels like my butt is getting bigger
I adore Harley Quinn!! She is badass and has style and an offbeat humorous gratefulness. She is witty and doesn't hesitate to unleash vengeance with a smile. She is my hero. I love Birds of Prey and the newest Suicide Squad film. I like her in these two films because she is a "good guy" Have a peaceful, beautiful and lovely day!! Shalom! : )
humorous gracefullness *
Very well said!!!! I'm such a fan of hers
@@boonewilliams5338 It was Harley Quinn that gave me confidence and joy to experience, to revisit my thoughts of dressing up and having fun. I loved dancing to Madonna as a child, lol. I have detransitioned and am happy... but I love and respect transgender women with kind regards. If there is ever anyone you know that detransitions I have shirts I designed and give away for free w/ free shipping. Love to watch a video you might add sometime with more about Harley Quinn! Have a nice evening. : )
@@loveperfect395 aw that's so awesome!!! Thank you for sharing that with me. :)
@@boonewilliams5338 Glad to love people with childlike cheer with hope that others might embrace the power of unconditional love ❤️ Our hurting world needs people like us that love being free, that love acting and making a difference. : )
You are so cute!
How do you feel about Legend of Korra?
Love it! I'll always prefer the original, since I grew up with it, and I'm just such a huge fan of the characters, but I think Legend of Korra is awesome:)
@@boonewilliams5338 yeah for sure, it definitely has it cons, but i think so many people ignore the good stuff in it
Not as perfectly crafted as ATLA but good none the less
u should check out “the pervert” by remmy boydell if u havent already! really cute comic (possibly done in watercolor?) where transness is represented by a dog slowly turning into a cat 🥰 thx for sharing!
Sounds super cool!!! Thank you so much for the recommendation!!! 😊
