If this scene wasn't cut and max stayed it would've made no sense because that one guard saw Max beat him
Infinite Donuts either way, max helped them leave the base and stayed his grounds fine so it means the guards didn’t spotted him helped jake’s team
Well technically they could’ve made up some bullshit that the guards and scientists don’t really interact as much but idk
Guard wouldn't have survived beating shown here. Human body is much more fragile than Hollywood movies tend to show.

@@savagee4641 hit in the head that makes somebody loose consciousness for more than a few seconds is usually fatal. Furthermore he hit him with a small relatively lightweight object meaning concussion wasn't big. So he most likely broke his skull and killed him.

Well there's a chance max and the other scientists found a way to hide the camera footage with something else, we also see max talking with Jake later in the film through a Webcam and they know that their calls and video logs can be opened so they probably found a way around it

Funny thing is that in 3:26 you can see the trooper running away, and this is kept in the final cut. But you only notice it if you've seen this scene.

App she is in the prequel for 2021. But probably as a vision or a dream. You never know she could even come back in her Avatar body even though it didnt work first time round. That villain guy and the helicopter lady coming back also :)

The biggest problem with this scene is that she starts the engine before everyone is on board. She has to know that starting the engine is going to alert the authorities, wait till you are ready to fly away before you start the engine. But this was a necessary goof, because they needed Grace to get shot for the plot.
Its not bike or car engine that you can just start the engine and boom ready to go... Its helicopter engine it takes some time atleast a minute to fully functional ready to fly

@@anantkumar4355 Doesn't matter, you are going to have to wait a minute before taking off regardless, minus well make sure everyone is ready to leave before you start going. They spent more time getting everyone on the aircraft causing one of them to get shot, then if they just didn't start up until everyone was on board.
ya they do an even worse version of that in Way of Water just to let the bad guys know where they are!

I can see why this one was cut. The extra bit makes the pacing slow, and if a guard saw Max then it wouldn't have been safe for him to stay behind

The end of this scene suddenly makes more sense. Now i understand how they were spotted by the «air tower controller». They had A LOT of craft in that hangar and it’s not likely that they would get spotted so fast. She didn’t just see them do an unregistered takeoff, she saw the hostilites at gunpoint and found out it was an unregistered takeoff. Still weird though. Seems like the unregistered takeoff is trivial at this point. Maybe she didn’t know what to define the situation as.
No, it makes a lot less sense. The controller should have noticed the engine start a LOT earlier.
Also, there aren't just random takeoffs of one aircraft in the middle of the night, that's not how it works. That controller was like almost a minute late and should have been fired. They probably wouldn't have escaped if she responded 1 minute earlier.
@@dzidkapl That’s probably why the Final Cut makes more sense. As soon as Trudy starts the engines, the air controller reports it, which means there she was efficient at doing her job.

So you got that entire escape scene where apparently nobody is watching remotely via camera. Then you have the most important part of the base the airfield with only a single guard.

Overall, the deleted scenes turns Trudy's role equivalent to the role of Letty (which is also played by the same actor in a different movie). She also has a deleted line last words to Norm that she loves him.

The scene with Trudy releasing them was one of the most hard to believe. They should've made her aim the gun at the guard and lock him in a cell or something, not whacking him in the head. Whacks in the head + lights out is such a false trope.
I agree, but unfortunately it’s a pretty necessary storytelling device in many instances. While it’s a trope, it’s one that benefits many many movies cuz while it may be annoying, the alternative is bogging down the pacing of a scene with more realistic ways of knocking people out.

Actually the fact she was able to surprise both of them makes it a lot more realistic. But she’s a pilot not a ground pounder like many of these guys. a Marine would lay her out.

This scene of Max fiddling with the lock would have made more sense in the final cut. At least the bit where they snag the keycard off the neck. Because in the final cut, I was like, how was a scientist in the Avatar program of all things have an access card for the military brig?

Grace approached him, he should have took her hostage, ditched the rifle and pulled the pistol in his leg pouch; Jake then drops the weapon, Trudy and Norm get away from the heli, then he either waits for support or kill those with military experience.
Would be nice if someone had a RPG aimed at the control center so that when Quarich comes out firing he'll just fire the RPG at the building suffocating everyone.

Not gonna lie that airfield Security guard showed A LOT of restraint.
He’s outnumbered, has no idea what the hell is going on but maintains his cool and doesn’t shoot. Also he is alone in a very sensitive area of the base which make no sense.
There's enough deleted scenes to make an extended edition with 2 dvd discs like they did with LOTR, but the fact that all of these got ignored is a disgrace to the movie.
Okay for real how do you get quality steak light years away from Earth and to keep it fresh? That alone should have given the guard a little hint

Part of this scene was deleted. Specifically Trudy beating the elevator guard, Max beating the guard with the pitcher, and Jake pointing the gun at the guard on the tarmac.
