    The birth of Kiri.
    In these scene we can also see that the Tree of Souls darkens after the death of Grace, a similar behaviour to the Spirit Tree of Metkayina when Kiri interacts with her mother. It's interesting how Eywa functions and the fact that it's not explained in details, but in a mystical way.

  • @UniqueornBacon
    @UniqueornBacon Před rokem +99

    So with the extended scene you see that a lot of time passes for this process (moons/planets, clouds passing overhead) so this does well to show that Eywa could have been seeing Grace's consciousness and memories and learning about Earth, and therefore setting up plans for the future. This would have to be the moment that Kiri was planted in her avatar because after this scene Grace's avatar was placed back in the tube. Disconnected from Eywa. This is Kiri's conception.

      @Frogger "Who's Eywa? Only their deity! Their goddess, made up of all living things. Everything they know! You'd know this if you had any training whatsoever."
      - Norm explaining Eywa to Jake
      Eywa isn't a person, but the moon (Pandora) itself. "Made up of all living things." She is the grass, the trees, the insects, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, humanoids, everything that is living is connected to her.
      We are connected to the Earth, and the Earth to us. The trees take in carbon dioxide and expel oxygen, then we humans and animals take in that oxygen and expel carbon dioxide which the plants take in, and the cycle repeats. If you look at the wing anatomy of a bat, the fin of a whale, and the hand of a human, you can see that they are almost the exact same. Which indicates we shared a common ancestor at one point in time. We are connected with all living things on this Earth.

    I always felt Grace wasn't able to complete the ceremony for two reasons,
    Firstly, she isn't really "Na'vi". Unlike Jake, who acclimatises so well through his fearlessness and constant trials, Grace is still just part of the science crew.
    Secondly, a seen in AVatar 2, I suspect Eywa saw Grace's love of Pandoran botany, and chose her avatar body as the vessel for a special child.
    In this ceremony, I think Kirii was conceived. WHch is why Neteyam and Kirii are so similar in age. Considering, only few days prior Jake and Neytiri got it on at the memory/song trees.

      Hobu123 dude eywa is real lol, I think you misunderstood. While you’re right about most of what you said- I think you’re forgetting something important. Eywa is sentient. Dr Augustine specifically states how their are more connections within the ecosystem or what ever you wanna call it lol, then there are within the human brain. Which clearly illustrates a CAPACITY for sentience. But then Neytiri says before the final battle to Jake something like “Eywa doesn’t *choose* (or take, I don’t remember) sides, they only protect the balance of life” . Also the Psychic says when they are trying to save Grace that “Eywa may *choose* to save all that she is, in this body” the importance in that word choice shouldn’t be taken lightly! it implies that Eywa has free will, and is able to think critically and make choices

    • @brendanmorin9935
      @brendanmorin9935 Před 4 lety +6

    • @brendanmorin9935
      @brendanmorin9935 Před 4 lety +7

      Hobu123 you’re first two questions don’t make sense lol like I have no idea what your talking about😂😂 I feel like you didn’t even read what I said💀 I never said anything about Eywa being divine, and neither did the Na’vi. And it’s pretty naive to say that the Na’vi would likely think how humans do- when they are not humans, and clearly don’t think the same way that humans do lmao. It’s true that the Na’vi warship eywa, but that doesn’t inherently mean that they think she is divine. Doctor Augustine specifically said how “the wealth of this world isn’t in the ground, it’s all around us! The Na’vi know that and they are fighting to defend it”. The only people who ever referred to Eywa as a divine being were the humans when they tried to mock the Na’vi. And the importance of the connections between the trees is that it shows that it functions similar to that of a brain- and that it demonstrates a capacity for sentience. Eywa isn’t divine, she is real and scientifically measurable, and she is sentient

Like I understand their desire to keep to traditions and to stay connected with nature, but even simple things like metal tools and weapons for hunting instead of still using wood bows and arrows?? Like they don't need to be using computers and cell phones but at least quality of life improvements for the way they do things...

      They just didn’t have a desire to🤷🏻‍♀️ their whole society is based around being balanced with nature. Like Neytiri specifically states how eywa doesn’t take sides- and how she only protects the balance of life. I feel like that desire to “progress” in the way you’re talking about comes from a place of wanting to conquer or dominate your environment, which is think is a really human thing that’s not really a part of the Na’vi. You have to remember that even tho they are intelligent and humanoid- they aren’t human. Their brains are nothing like ours, so they literally don’t think like us. And even if they actually were like people, and they did want to advance in technology etc. I’m sure eventually eywa would strike them down, just like she did to the humans who were throwing off the balance of life!
      Lol this was long but yeah- this is my answer to your question, but who knows haha I could be way off😂😂

      @@brendanmorin9935 I mean, you can argue that maybe that one central being might control their will to a certain degree, but you already see how easy it was for one of them to want something that is completely different from tradition. Knowing that is possible it's hard to argue that in the more than 200,000 years (the amount of time humans have existed) none of them would have wanted to do something different? And I'm not talking about anything drastic, just like HOW their normal things are done. Like their spears for hunting, instead of tying a stone spear head onto a wood stick, they could develop like a polymer stick with a steel head. It's used exactly the same so it's not like their way of life would change, but it would simply last longer, be more consistent, and be more efficient. Things like that. Like they can maintain their way of life and being balanced with the planet and nature, but just find new ways to make doing those things easier or more efficient.

    • @brendanmorin9935
      @brendanmorin9935 Před 4 lety +13

      Ken45 I feel like the root of the answer is just that they didn’t need to🤷🏻‍♀️ if what they are doing is working then there is no real need to find something better. As humans I think we are always looking for something better, something more efficient- and that’s part of why we were so successful as a species. And that’s literally programmed into our dna. I can’t stress how important it is to remember that just bc they are intelligent, doesn’t mean they think like humans do. And that doesn’t make them any less than us, it just makes them different. Ik I already said that, but I don’t think you’re really understanding what I’m saying- and maybe it’s bc I’m not explaining it well. Because that is your answer lol😂 and I didn’t mean that eywa controls their will, but I’m saying that if the Na’vi somehow progressed like humans did as far as technology is conserned- then eventually it would throw off the balance of life and Eywa would be forced to take action against them. The same way how our own technology has advanced us so far, but is also killing our planet- and throwing off earths natural balance. I hope this makes sense

    • @Kenneth45
      @Kenneth45 Před 4 lety +8

      @@brendanmorin9935 I do understand what you're saying, and I was actually saying that Eywa controlling their will would be the ONLY sensible explanation. The fact that Neytiri decides to go against their tradition after knowing this guy for a few months or however long it was proves they are all capable of individual thought and decisions. There's absolutely no way an entire population can go hundreds of thousands of years where everyone just sticks to traditions for tradition's sake and none of them decided to try something different. Literally zero chance. You can't just group them all as "they" and say "well 'they' didn't want to" as if "they" all thought exactly alike...

    • @HTXKG
      @HTXKG Před 4 lety +19

      Ken45 That is a grand assumption. You are basing that assumption off of humans in what you know. It’s unreasonable to think that there is no way any civilization couldn’t stick to a tradition for thousands or more amount of years. Just because humans cant do that doesn’t mean there isn’t a civilization that can. They didn’t progress in technology and everything else because it wasn’t something that they needed. Their way of life worked for them and they kept at it. Humans unfortunately had to progress in that way due to a lot of things like disease, expansion and whatever else. Also humans don’t think in totality like them. Every human on this planet believe something different at least in this culture they all believed in the same God and in the same traditions so why would they need to change anything about that? You can’t even get a group of humans to agree on something simple let alone one religion or tradition.
