Having seen graphics change from the early 2000’s we owe a lot to avatar for showing us it’s not just meant to be a crutch for filmmaking but instead being a invaluable tool
Our "stereotypical view" of Native language vocal expression that was given to us within the examples of many early Hollywood films does not fit at all into the essence of what Avatar's story Conveys. the films storywriter made an internal effort to root address these layers within the films charter expression. so no Neytiri does not speak like the old Tonto in the lone ranger. czcams.com/video/D9F1SUkymcw/video.html
@@allrock1238 I understand for the sake of storytelling that they make Neytiri more fluent of an English speaker in the final movie, but for a movie that has a learn able Conlang, the broken English would actually have been more interesting to hear from characters such as Tsu'tey, or Mo'at. Neytiri previously being a somewhat learned student of Dr. Augustine's school would also make sense for her to speak English clearly. "Tonto speak" may not be respectful in films directly sourcing specific REAL Native Peoples or featuring them, but the Na'vi are supposed to be a neolithic extraterrestrial race, and simplifying and expressing their English as well as presenting the Na'vi language could have been done where the audience is still able to empathize with the characters. Again, I state that I prefer the Project 880 draft including this motion capture test, the Na'vi models, and the accent, which Zoe Saldana completely waters down unless speaking Na'vi.
Something about giving the alien characters a recognisable East Asian accent can also be a bit stereotypical, this idea of Asians being exotic and featuristic and alien to the west. Asians absolutely deserve to be represented in sci-fi in a variety of roles. But the final Na'vi accent settled on in the film that references various African, Slavic, and Polynesian accents by nature of the phonics in their complex language developed for the world, is quite distinct for the genre.
I'm a little disappointed that the "strong heart" line was from before the actual production. I've always had a problem with that because in hindsight if Neytiri had told Jake she saved him because of Eywa people could've probably connected more to the religious themes of the movie that many people seem to put aside.
@@DavidArriola "I'm with her Jake, she's real" those are Grace's last words. @@jaehaerysitargaryen7923 ohw my bad 😅 yup it's Korean your Right 👌
no it doesnt
It really doesn't it just sounds goofy knowing what they're supposed to sound like 💀
@@Combustionman586 yeah but if you had no knowledge of what avatar normally is, this sounds great, you're just biased because you're used to how it is normally.
Increíble ver como era el Test de Avatar 😸
Está súper interesante.
maaan sooo glad they went with what we have!!!
Having seen graphics change from the early 2000’s we owe a lot to avatar for showing us it’s not just meant to be a crutch for filmmaking but instead being a invaluable tool
If i was the one making the movie and saw THIS...i'd give up not gonna lie
JC has true vision, what a legend
Neytiri having an Asian accent is so hilarious to me for some reason lol
Avatar from Wish be lookin dope
Very well done for just a screen test
oh wow 💀 i mean for 2007 it’s not even that bad but compared to the original damn 😭
The cgi here still looks better than many modern MCU projects.
"stupid! ignorant like chiold!" keeps me awake at night
i really like the more video-gamey toonish look of this test actually. a mini series or something that looked like this would be pretty cool.
Kids: Mom can we watch Avatar?
Mom: Sure!
Avatar at home:
For 2007 and a demo, this is fucking insane.
Bruh, even the test footage look good.
Господи, сколько лет прошло:)))) наконец-то дождалась второй части:)))
в этом тесте у Аватара Джейка лишь 4 пальца.
Neytiri should have kept talking that way
Our "stereotypical view" of Native language vocal expression that was given to us within the examples of many early Hollywood films does not fit at all into the essence of what Avatar's story Conveys. the films storywriter made an internal effort to root address these layers within the films charter expression. so no Neytiri does not speak like the old Tonto in the lone ranger. czcams.com/video/D9F1SUkymcw/video.html
Chinese accent? I think not
Something about giving the alien characters a recognisable East Asian accent can also be a bit stereotypical, this idea of Asians being exotic and featuristic and alien to the west.
Asians absolutely deserve to be represented in sci-fi in a variety of roles.
But the final Na'vi accent settled on in the film that references various African, Slavic, and Polynesian accents by nature of the phonics in their complex language developed for the world, is quite distinct for the genre.
Damn…how’d I know she was asian
i actually love her strong accent
This is pretty good man
remember guys that this was made in 2007 and their budget for this is 2 million compared to the hundreds of millions for the avatar movie
Oh, dear...
I could prefer this one than what we have.
Ey! She is Sun from Lost!
김윤진이네 ㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷ
Great CGI, kinda cringe acting and dialogue lol 😂 still love it
because they aren't real actors they are only for test purpose
The dialogue is the exact same as in the final movie lol
@@acquaz10 it’s not, it’s slight different and the way it’s delivered also ads to the cringe
Wow this is amazing

I'm a little disappointed that the "strong heart" line was from before the actual production. I've always had a problem with that because in hindsight if Neytiri had told Jake she saved him because of Eywa people could've probably connected more to the religious themes of the movie that many people seem to put aside.
Eywa is not a god, she is a biological entity.
@@DavidArriola "I'm with her Jake, she's real" those are Grace's last words. Her entire arc is about understanding how Ewya is not only a biological phenomenon but in fact, a very real Goddess with a capital G. Eywa is very similar to Gaia with the only difference being that Eywa is probably self-aware.
This looks better than most modern CGI
Very cool test footage.
