I love how much he intently puts the actors first in this entire process. Creating a space and sandbox as he calls it that works for them and by catering to them in such a way where they can take over and deliver such incredible performances
Totally agree what he said about 3D. Avatar did it right. Avatar did 3D in a way where while watching it you forgot you were watching a 3D movie. Heck you forgot you were watching a movie. What he's good at is intertwining human stories and love stories into the film. That's what connects with different demographics in the audience. So essentially there's something for everyone. That's why his movies are successful.
To think a guy that was a truck driver and never went to film school turns out Abyss, Terminator(s), Titanic, Avatar(s). This guy is so impressive: smart, talented, real.

Some of the most touching and truly resonant moments in cinematic history lie in these films. If you have not seen Avatar: The Way of Water, trust me when I say it is the kind of film that only comes out no more often than once a decade.

Thanks for the help!!
I’m really excited about Avatar 2,3,4 and I believe there is a 5th film coming as well. It’s gonna be cinema magic.
Four is one too many I think. I'd have been more than happy with 2 and 3 and that be it.
@@DavidOakesMusic 😂😂 it depends on the story as a whole. Not on feelings.
The good thing is hes not makinga sequel for the sake of it. He seems to have planned this from the beginning. So it should be good.
Avatar 2 was AMAZING!! James Cameron is an absolute artist and visionary!!
The way this man talks about his craft is so inspiring 💕
Hate him or love him, but the man is a genius, talented director.
Visionary, pioneer and compromised to his ideas and how to portray then in beautiful imagery!
A true artist behind the lense. Doesn't matter the medium, it is always impecable! 💙💚
Cameron's and Tolkien's world building is so epic, i definitely took notes for my novel. Civilization stories on other planets is my crack 🤣
Human civilization or alien....it's quite hard to do with out becoming another star wars, I'm writing my ideas for a game and also doing concepts for it too. Hope your book is coming along nicely 🙂
@@couchbanana343 can i help you with some ideas ?
@@rocky821 what I'm working on now is the flow of it from start to finish I.e picking your character then tutorial gameplay and so on, not a script but small paragraphs covering the main plot points in each chapter or hub level...if that makes any sense
James Cameron is a LEGEND! You will forever have my respect, sir. Your contribution to cinema will never be forgotten.
It really feels great to see my favorite movie getting sequels and attention. Thank you, James Cameron and everyone else who works there.
I love that he asked FOX for 10 million just to do some tests and they were like are you insane ? And then it went on to make almost $3 billion.
First time I watched avatar, I said to my friends when We got out of the theater: there is no way this is someone’s imagination, it must be a dream. And now Cameron himself confirmed that I was right.
Not an ordinary dream, Its a Lucid Dream 🕉
@@redpillmatrix3046 part of me really wonders if he didn't go somewhere in that dream. We can't dream what we haven't seen, but we can SEE things we haven't seen. Not saying Pandora specifically is real, but there could well be a world out there that's somewhat similar insofar as bioluminescence.

I love that hes just wearing a Fox motocross jersey. Lol! What a beast!!
The Na’vi will have a motocross scene in Avatar 2!
@@kp4588 hahahaha
That’s the main reason I clicked on the video.. I thought nah James Cameron can’t be wearing a motocross jersey..
@@Shoorit same haha
I think he is wearing pants too
I love how much he intently puts the actors first in this entire process. Creating a space and sandbox as he calls it that works for them and by catering to them in such a way where they can take over and deliver such incredible performances
Could listen to James Cameron speak about film all day long. Legend.
You gotta appreciate that this was all in one take and James would have gone on for hours and hours, bright authentic mind 💪🏻
You can really sense his passion for the Avatar movies when he talks. It’s no surprise the world he created is so immersive and captivating.
@Frogger 🤓
This video is no less than a *Master Class* . He said many things that can be useful. Very useful.
I'm glad he's keeping healthy
the dude has 3 more avatar films to go.... I pray he's able to see his dream to finish them all
Late reply, but they shot the first three already. They’re starting to do 4 now. He’ll be able to finish them.
Totally agree what he said about 3D. Avatar did it right. Avatar did 3D in a way where while watching it you forgot you were watching a 3D movie. Heck you forgot you were watching a movie. It just felt like you were there. I was 18 when the first film came out, now 32 I can't wait to go back to world with the improved technology and feel that immersion and magic again.
Me too man, probably my favorite movie. People who hate it don't have an open mind. Im the same age as you so I can't wait for the 2nd one finally.
My daughter and I have juat finished watching Avatar. Shes 4 and half but I can tell she loved it, this movie tears me up everytime I watch it. Its just a brilliant movie, I can't say much more. Its just a really moving movie that has so many little messages and the beautiful side of humanity. We will definitely be going to see the second one. Well worth the wait
Yes this is my mother’s favorite movie and one of mine. Avatar 2 trailer has been released today!
@@bobby1929 I just watched it about 10 minutes ago. I can't wait to show her after she finishes kindergarten today ! She's going to be so excited

The one thing I would have loved to see more of was pandora during the night the movie is amazing but for me the night time and all the bioluminescence was my favorite part of the movie I’ve always wondered what the world would be like if everything has a glow to it at night
I’m very envious of this man.
To be able to walk into an office with any creative idea I have, pitch it, and be given bucketloads of cash in return to bring it to realization would be my dream come true.
Brilliant director & writer of his generation! This interview was truly Insightful and really looking forward to the sequels.
The Avatar sequels will most certainly be great. Now, when will we ever see The Abyss on blu-ray and in 4K??!! 😂
And dont forget true lies!
Abyss will be repackaged as an Avatar prequel to fill out an overall six part Pandora Saga.
@@schwartzy65 True Lies has some pretty nasty issues regarding it's legacy behind the scenes now.
@@eduardosanchez107 what happened?
I love Him and his compassion))))) Imagine the world if everyone could have the same attitude to what they do as James has!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really looking forward to these movies and enjoying them in IMAX at the movie theater. I hope Cameron doesn’t make the mistake of streaming these on television. Don’t dilute your work for a made for tv experience, Cameron!
This type of Experience film really really needs a Group collective audience as as there non verbal internal reactions are a part of this type of Art expression experience , you just cant do that through a streaming experience ,, Coved is the deep challenge that has every filmmaker chewing nails , spend years making sequel a deeply immersive collective audience experience film that takes the collective audience on a journey with them.. then pray Coved will run its course so people wont fear going into a cinema to view it the way its meant to be seen ..
Happy birthday James Cameron you are the best! Waiting for poster or a trailer!
I was in Maui recently, went for a walk at night on the beach with a friend and little blue glowing specs were appearing in the sand. The more we looked around the more we saw. Reminded me of Avatar! It was some kind of microorganism that caused the glow.
Interesting watch! Thanks for sharing & happy birthday James!
THANK YOU JAMES CAMERON FOR YOUR IMAGINATION AND BEAUTIFUL WIRK AND HEART🥰🥰🥰
Oh My God, Every time he says "sequels" it gives me the chills!!!!!
when he says "dream" he actually means LSD
Actually?
Yeah
Yep lol. That or shrooms.
Totally LSD
From a dream and a heart bearing so much love, James Cameron has created what I would argue to be some of the best films ever made; the Avatar films are truly some of the most breathtaking, remarkable, and inspirational films through the history of time. Some of the most touching and truly resonant moments in cinematic history lie in these films. If you have not seen Avatar: The Way of Water, trust me when I say it is the kind of film that only comes out no more often than once a decade.
I remember that day when I saw this movie, and at the end, I said to my friend, was this the most incredible movie I've ever seen!!! I was blown away!!! thank you for being a great story teller!!! mike
They should release uncut 4K edition of the original Avatar with all the deleted scenes also
So be it
I'm so excited for the sequels!!!
Eagerly waiting for the Avatar 2 movie💥
As Hobbs said " keep waiting....."
It will be in theaters soon in 2154.
i hope we can see new tech again that can mindblown us like before, not just story. back when i was a kid, i imagine avatar 2 will be really holographic on theatres
Same
Teaser is out
I have absolute respect for his heart & mind. Thank you for making the movie.
Thank you James for all of the wonderful adventures you've given us!
I love this man. Can't get over how good he is at his job
I love how James endured the grueling production of 'The Abyss' and then goes "yes' let's do that x10 when the actors involved in the former are still traumatized lol! James is an utter *machine* .
Waiting for.,.. Avatar 2 trailer 🔥💯💯
Me tooooo😭🙏🏼
Really well answered questions, from the man who gifted us so many incredible movies! We are lucky to have him!
What a genius this guy is, I was blown away when i watched Avatar in theater, had to watch it twice!!!
and some of us fall in love with Movies through your lenses …Thanks James
Happy Birthday sir James Cameron may God bless you with good health and looking forward for your upcoming Avatar sequels .
We really need the sequel soon, please no more delays. Thanks for the Q&A!
Special effects are amazing, especially the spaceships on Pandora when they have the big fight. Amazed there hasn't been a sequel yet
I love this man. This video just makes me respect him like crazy
You are an inspiration and a living legend. Thank you, James Cameron ❤️
My favourite director- can’t wait for December to see the sequel 😊🥰
Absolutely loved hearing his thought process. Please do another one of these!
Did they catch Jim Cameron right after his motocross race?!!
When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a fox racing video, but the I realized it was avatar :)
Clearly
Subtle nod to studio he's tied with: 20th Century Fox 😂
Bwahaha! That’s literally what I thought too!
must have. they shot it in 720p
Amazing guy, watch all his films again and again....never failed !
This right here is a true talent and a master of his craft. Id say he is a national treasure who will go down in history as one of the best directors, visionaries, story tellers and film creators.
Sir you'll be always remembered as a unique legend for your amazing works in Hollywood film industry.
I was shocked when I knew that man who made avatar is the same man who made Titanic ❤️
What a man!
How did you not already know that?
What an intelligent, authentic and down to earth gentleman ... fascinated listening to this
I just listened to all of blockbuster, great podcast. feel like Jim and I are old friends now. Gives you a whole new perspective when listening to these interviews, this man is a true industry Vet and a true artist. He's always raising the bar lmao
cinematic genius. thanks for making some of my favorite movie experiences of all time!
I have been waiting 10 long years to see this :) ~ James you are a genius! Thank you for creating such an amazing world: the story, the characters, the language, the 3D experience.. everything is truly revolutionary. I hope you won’t wait another 10 years to make Avatar 3 though :)
James, has my heart and soul, never felt this understood or alive when watching avatar, true legend and a true LIVING not only existing human.
I watched Avatar with my dad when I was 12. Now I will watch it with my son. Man is a legend.
It's odd to say that Avatar is a childhood movie of mine. Anyway, I absolutely love Avatar. It has stuck with me for a very long time. Can't wait for the sequels. Pandora is such a beautiful world to visit. Thank you James Cameron and the crew of Avatar.
A genius director with the right people around him makes incredible films that touch in an emotional way I love the first Avatar film I saw the second one yesterday it blew me away the sounds and music and the characters in his films and there story he’s telling you 🙏
I LOVE YOU JAMES CAMERON !! I am confident that your legacy will be relieved by my children.
Gotta say, I love the hardware that Cameron envisions (with his team) in his movies. So I'm looking forward to seeing that being shown off.
My favorite directors are James Cameron and Baz Luhrmann because of how they’re both so dedicated to their craft and they both make amazing movies.
Thank you James for bringing your art to reality for all of us to experience. I loved both films and a lot of your other greats. Wishing you health and prosperity and a happy new year!
As a university student who is learning about being in the media industry and all that, this is really inspiring and I truly admire of how he is really comitted to his ideas, his passion even back in the 90's where it was pretty much impossible to make films at that level. The whole 30m just flew by. Honestly feel like listening to a lecture that really talks to you and makes you think. Thank you James. Can't wait to see the next films.
Thanks James!
My favorite director..He has a good imagination..
As much as I loathed waiting,I’m glad I got to watch the first movie,I’m so in love with it.I hope I live long enough to see the others and am not disappointed .James Cameron do your best and take my breath away!!!!
I love James Cameron he is the greatest director and his commitment too the vision is legendary
In my opinion When the screenwriter is the director
You get pure vision and the original soul of the story
He dreamt up Avatar, he dreamt up the Terminator!! He needs to invent a camera that can film all his dreams!!!!
Elon Musk should hook him up to Neuralink. The studios would save millions…
James Cameron I LOVE YOU, AND YOUR CAREER!
This is my favorite director, I love all his films, some more and some less, but I still love it and rewatch it every year! Many directors make films based on books, games or comics, but Cameron takes all his films out of his head, I'm very happy for Jim, looking forward to part 3, good luck to you and your team, it's a pity that Horner did not live up to this moment, his soundtracks are in my heart forever !
Avatar is one of the best movies of all time & my personal favorite . It’s not overhyped at all and hopefully takes back the highest grossing movie title after the September re-release 🤘🏽
