All the other interpretations of marriage are idealizations that come from culture, religion or politics, usually with the intent of a third party benefiting from the artificially inflated expectations about marriage, like selling all kinds of services.
Perhaps, if people went back to seeing marriage as a contract, a FREE CONTRACT, in which they could decide by themselves all the details, marriages would adjust to the more heterogeneous ideas that we have today and would start being a more attractive institution, instead of this trend of declining marriage rates in the most part of the world.
Visit or Visiting prostitutes is also cheating. It's part of cheating, a sin for relationships.

However, there's one important thing that must be mentioned : the reason why many men use the services of professional women is that they're unsatisfied at home. And when I say "unsatisfied", I actually mean that they're in a state of sexual misery and utter frustration due to the lack of sex with their "official" partner (or the lack of a partner altogether). Of course, there are also men who just want to fool around and have fun with many different women but that's another story.

Allegedly, workers are expected, every so often, to go out "drinking" with their boss & coworkers after work.
Not doing so is seen as having a "bad attitude" & is up there with skipping out on overtime work & taking paid vacations without making sure your coworkers can or will take up the slack.

I think the answers would be even more interesting if sex worker services were as easily accessible. For example, I wonder what Dutch women would say and if there was a culture of cheating. My limited understanding about Japanese marriages is men and women start to see each other as family and non sexual, and due to this and other reasons like availability of services, both men and women can find what they want/need outside of marriage.

As far as I know based on my experiences working with Japanese colleagues, Japanese couple is not a couple anymore once gave birth to kid, they will not divorce or separate for the sake of their children, and men meet lover to seek for intercourse or romance. While in France, my country, we still love and have intercourse even after long relationship. Having intercourse with the person you love is the best feeling ever, even after 10years of relationship, just need to spice it up to make it work.
