Non-stop laughter. Meshida-San and Natsueri-Sensei are hilarious together.
One thing they glossed over was "marry someone you want to have sex with".
One of the main reasons why there are sexless couples, is that the couple had no desire to have sex in the first place!
Even in my country, we have too many couples getting married, just to say they are married.
Some (not only) sleep in *separate* beds but in *separate* rooms in *separate* sections of the house!
That's not marriage... That's living together and having matching rings!
Because of societies' coercion for marriage and reproduction
Things can change over time as well
Sleeping with someone = not sleeping. Long life to separate bedrooms.

Unfortunately, I couldn't prevent my marriage with a Japanese wife from becoming a sexless marriage, years ago. And now, it's over.
No problem with my banana though, thanks for asking ! I'm not gonna try to pretend that I'm good, but I sure tried my best each and every time. She just mostly wasn't interested in that at all, I guess, and I progressively stopped trying to ask for it. And thus, it stopped happening.
Some women marry for the money. It's not about love or sex.

So as soon as women are pregnant, the job of the man shifts from a lover/sex partner to a resource provider. Nobody talks about it, but marriage&sex usually turns sour once the kid enters the scene. Just a taboo subject since reproduction is holy in every surviving cultures. (The cultures/peope that don't worship reproduction simply disappeared in history since they didn't reproduce enough/at all)

It's unfortunate to hear about the social side effects tied to the work culture in Japan. And of course it's way too complex for a simple fix. I guess I lucked out bro because I'm a Mexican American from California living in Japan married to a Japanese woman and we still get down like rabbits. The funny thing is that she dresses stylish and conservative like most Japanese girls do so people wouldn't think she's got that "Ms. busy body" side to her lol. Not only that but she's super loyal, caring, and loves to laugh. I definitely have to say we are the exception to the sexless marriage rule. Coming from South Central, L.A. and living most of my life in Southern California I never would have thought I would have ended up in Japan let alone with someone so beautiful and special to me.

Sooooo I just recently had finished reading Mushoku Tensei. I LOVE that novel. In that novel (sorry for spoilers) Rudeus end up having happy healthy functional marriage with very active sеx live and many children born from it. I see that this is really non-standart for Japan so it would be interesting to know japanese public reaction to that part of the novel.
This turned out to be a good manzai on a serious topic, it was very fun to follow. Your back and forth with Natsueri-*sama* was very amusing. The topic itself is rather sad though.
