Love the sound of these Rolls Royce Dart engines. It`s music to my ears. Incentally, it is the same engine type used on Viscounts.
and F27s
And YS-11
And Dart Heralds. And Gulfstream 1s.
and on F27's
Got to be one of the sweetest sounding engines ever built.
I can feel the vibration of this aircraft through my iPad! Insane, love the sounds.
Such a meditative sound!! Amazing!!!
Now thats what you call a real plane ❤
Totally agree on the RR Dart gearbox sounds. Also like hearing the Prop go into a bit of reverse to help in the tight turns. Brings back childhood memories for me flying from the States to Newfoundland to visit my mom's family.
I never got sick of airplane, never did and never will. I just hope she stays in service for years and years to come :)
Child hood memories..hearing those dart turbine combine with blades sound bring back the memories when we travel as a family boarding Bouraq HS 748..thanks for the upload 😀
Magical sound. I love the slow build up to full throttle and then the smooth, deep drone of those beautiful mechanical masterpieces. Takes me right back and reminds me of my first flight in a Bristol Britannia.....
Great sound, great memories! Those Dart engines, sound like music!
Wow, so awesome! Very like the United A/L Viscount MKE to ORD, 1965. So sweet!!
Love the HS748. Superb video. Aircraft takes off in almost no distance at all.
Gosh!! the sound of Firing High Energy Ignition Units clearly audible till the first 3 seconds. Love you AVRO.
Absolutely brilliant! That prop melody is beautiful.
Fantastic engine!!!
I Loove the sound of RR darts.. And the 748 is by far my fave aircraft.. Lovely.
Yes I really enjoyed this Take off I always like a Ruff take off and nice scenery 2 thanks for the video clip Sir and have many more Safe flights !! 😊😊
love those old turboprops! such a great sound and attractive airplane. thanks for sharing! rob
The sound of those Dart engines...makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up...just love a turbo prop....
Second favourite after Allison 501 engine
Great video, love the HS748
Thank you, Loran, for publishing this video! You captured the sound the feeling and scenery from the takeoff of this aircraft. It really brought back some wonderful memories Awesome!
Those propellers get crazy !!! Lol
Great job & awesome jet prop aircraft! Congrats!
those old darts have a great way of winding up on takeoff, the lag then VARRRRRRoooooooooooommmmm
Incredible look back from here in 2021. Beautiful camera work! Thank you...
On this aircraft, with the RR Dart Engines, the sound of the props is much more audible than on the Viscounts, which use the same engines. The props make a "chafe cutter" sound in full idle speed and taxiing, which I call the "box fan" sound. In takeoff and inflight, the props are like the wings of a bumblebee.
Turbine props are awesome.
Unlike the Vickers Viscount, the sound of the props is somewhat more audible over the whine of the RR Darts than on the viscount. The Viscount sounded much more like a regular turbofan than a turboprop.
Great sound from RR Dart, remember me about all flight with Braathens SAFE Fokker Friendship Long the coast of Norway
I remember i was on one of these when i was about 4 years old. It was my first plane ride. Good times
1:32 - 1:33 i like that sound
I flew in one of these things back in 77. Its unbelievable they are still around....
This all we had in the Bahamas 🇧🇸 for decades they were replaced in the 90’s by dash 8 love this plane flew on these many times
Voodoo one And didn’t the Dash 8 get replaced with mostly ATRs?
I hear ya. I flew Vancouver-Whitehorse-Dawson (which required an overnight northbound in Whitehorse). Was able to fly back all in same day. Pricey, but with my limited time (and funds!) the pass wouldn't work for me on that trip either. All the best!
nice sound engine start up roll royce dart
Huh What..., I worked a good number of years around the Rolls Royce Dart Engines.
Nothing, IS as loud as these turbine Beasts...on start up and taxi.
Whether on the 748, or The F-27...these were memorable.
Only thing better is the Allison’s on a Convair 580, or Herc.
Certainly way more smoky. Lol!
The 748’s were flying tanks. Workhorses of the North.
Music to my ears.....
I miss that distinctly beautiful sound.
The old Avro. I had the privilege of flying 3 legs on this old bird. Replaced by Dash 8s that were replaced by ATRs now there's hardly anything left. I recently found out Avro was short for A.V. Roe & Co.
thanks for this video
wow that same General Electric T700(CT7 Turboprop) engine sound!!!!
Don't compare those to the Darts, darts were the first and best. In sound terms.
Very nice! Thanks
She comes over here once in a while to FBKS, AK. Love the sound of her turboprop engine's.
Marvelous
loved flying on those turboprops
VERY NICE FOOTAGE
Such a beautiful sound. The whine the harmonics and everything. At several points I think I'm hearing the whine of the Roots type cabin suoerchargers?
Sinfonia !
In this video, the prop sound is somewhat more audible over the sound of the Darts, than in the videos that I've watched of the Viscount. It also appears that this aircraft has three bladed props. The Viscount had four bladed props. The props make an amusing "chafe cutter" or "box fan" sound in taxiing. In takeoff and inflight, they make what I call the "bumblebee" sound, producing a bass hum and vibration, heard inside the cabin.
The 748's Dart engines had FOUR- BLADED props exactly like the Viscount. But that was quieter to fly in.
AH! Great memories. I flew C-FCSE a year ago Sept. Beautiful plane, wonderful sound. Did you do this on an Air North "Pass" package? Thanks for posting.
1:36 Blades on the propeller
changing pitch
Hi dpohunter, I wanted to combine it in the Air North pass, but it requires three overnight stops along the way which was too long for me. Originally I wanted to connect to the Canadian North 732 to Yellowknife sitting on Inuvik's ramp, but this is not affordable without the pass (USD 600 o/w) for just one leg. Next time maybe...
Hard not to like the 'Budgie'
Great quality video - although I wish people wouldn't put things like "start up" in the title of a video that starts with the engines clearly already spinnin'.
お早う御座います🌸🇯🇵🗾🌸
デコトラTVです🚚💨
プロペラの回転が凄く凄く速いですね。
一秒間に何回転しているのでしょうかね✈️✈️👍👍
I missed flying here due to lack of funds. Even didn't go in DC-3 times. It was just way too expensive to fly just for the heck of it.
it sounded like a tornado siren at 1:16
Wow, is that a dirt runway?
varigdc10 that is a first nation place so yeah
CASA CN-235 & Saab 340, Sukhoi Su-80 same sound that!!!!!
The aircraft in the video aircraft has got Roll-Royce Dart engines so it's not the same sound.
So far as CT7 turboprop same sound...
You probably mean the high-pitch noise? It comes from the centrifugal compressor that is found in many turboprop and small jet engines, incl both the CT7 and the RR Dart. The very common Pratt & Whitney Canada PT-6 also has one, as have the various aircraft APUs.
김선우 ATR 42?
Seriously? Have you heard these darts from the ground and onboard????. Nothing like them
schreeching Darts
Same kinda airline that crashed in Sandy Lake Ontario Canada when the plane crashed the seen parts of people's organs all over the ground of somebody's finger and head and legs and other parts of people on the ground my dad seen a little girls body part on a tree and that's why they don't use them here in my community after the airline Air Manitoba Crashed here
