Plot-
The Last of Us Part II takes place five years after the events of the first game and about 25 years after the outbreak of the Cordyceps Brain Infection began. Ellie, who is now 19 years old, will return as the main protagonist whom players will assume control of, as well as Joel in his mid-fifties.[4] The story will be split into four seasonal chapters, starting with Jackson County, Wyoming, during the winter months. The pair, having settled down in Tommy's settlement, live in relative peace within the thriving community. While there, Ellie has even managed to form friendships with Dina and Jesse. However, the survivors face constant threats from the Infected and other hostile survivors.
When a tragic event disrupts the tranquility of her life, Ellie embarks on a journey in a search for vengeance to carry out justice against a mysterious, dangerous cult known as the Seraphites. As she hunts down those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the traumatizing physical and emotional consequences of her actions.[5].
Ellie is fueled by hate, which will be a major theme within the story.[6] The game will also primarily be set in Seattle, Washington.[7]

Part II characters
Ellie (Ashley Johnson) - The protagonist of the game. Ellie is a 19-year-old survivor of the Cordyceps Brain Infection outbreak and the only person known to be immune to the infection. Ellie lives in a large community in Jackson. She sports a tattoo over the bite scar on her right arm to hide her immunity. After witnessing a horrific attack, Ellie embarks on a personal quest for vengeance.
Joel (Troy Baker) - Joel is Ellie's father figure and a former smuggler, who bonded with her years ago while transporting her across the country to the Fireflies in the hopes of creating a vaccine for the CBI outbreak. Unbeknownst to Ellie, Joel killed the Fireflies who were going to kill Ellie to create a cure.
Tommy (Jeffrey Pierce) - Tommy is Joel's younger brother and is one of the leaders of the community in Jackson, alongside his wife Maria. Tommy is the only person aware of Joel's killing of the Fireflies and deception of Ellie. Tommy, like Ellie, spends the game on his own quest for vengeance.
Dina (Shannon Woodward) - Dina is a close friend and love interest of Ellie and a resident of the community in Jackson. She is Jesse's ex-girlfriend, and kisses Ellie which causes a stir in the community. Dina accompanies Ellie throughout the game as their relationship develops.
Jesse (Stephen Chang) - Jesse is a friend of Ellie, and Dina's ex-boyfriend. He is a resident of the community in Jackson, and accompanies Ellie on her quest.
Abby (Laura Bailey) - The secondary protagonist of the game. Abby is a member of the Washington Liberation Front and begins the game of attempting to locate a resident of the community in Jackson. Abby is forced to deal with the fallout of her own quest for revenge.
Owen (Patrick Fugit) - Owen is a member of the WLF and Abby's childhood friend and ex-boyfriend. He is in a relationship with Mel and is having a child with her.
Mel (Ashly Burch) - Mel is a medic and a member of the WLF. She is pregnant with Owen's child, which causes tension between her and Abby.
Manny (Alejandro Edda) - Manny is a member of the WLF and a friend and roommate of Abby's. He accompanies her to Jackson and later in the game.
Lev (Ian Alexander)- Lev is a former member of a religious cult called the Seraphites set to wipe out all 'sin' in the world after the outbreak. Lev is branded an apostate by the Serephites for shaving his hair and is hunted by them alongside his older sister, Yara. Lev becomes Abby's companion and assists her.
Yara (Victoria Grace)- Yara is Lev's older sister who left the Seraphites with him, and is severely injured by them during their escape. She later accompanies Abby during the game.

Tommy's story in this game is one of the most tragic. He let his whole world become hate, and lost everything because of it. Ellie not killing Abby is her holding on to the little bit of humanity that Tommy couldn't.

I can't stop crying !!! This is a real masterpiece! Especially the last flashback with Joel and Ellie, where Ellie tried to forgive him for saving her life, and Joel almost cried ... I was devastated ... After the game finale I was depressed for 1-2 weeks and I really started thinking about the meaning of life. .. And it’s very, very sorry that Ellie didn’t have time to forgive Joel for saving her, and giving this life, gave pleasant emotions, remember that warm flashback, her birthday, where he gave her the best birthday present! For me, this is a real emotional shock ...
Now the meaning of Ellie's life lost its meaning after Joel's death ... And in the end of the game she did not go anywhere ... Or she continued to search for the meaning of life, in this cruel world full of violence, violence and ends with violence ... The game touched me very much for soul, a lot of emotions, and you really start to think about life ... It's a shame how much hate part 2 got by "fans" when I came out. I was a heartbreaking masterpiece about trauma, loss and obsession and rarely have I been so moved.

The worst thing about all of this shit is that in the last seconds that joel was brathing, he looked ellie in her eyes and thought she would get killed too... he will never know what she did for him and its f*cking heartbreaking
Never ever played a game so immersive in my whole life. Damm!! Every human enemy ( not infected ) you faced in the game have a name. The quality of details, the combat engine, gore and realistic deaths. This is a piece of art, a true master piece in terms of story and gameplay, 10/10.
Fax apparently there are rumours that there may be going to make a remake of the first game can’t wait to see the story in the first game and everything else in the second like imagine the combat with the story of last of us one oh my God can’t wait

Ellie's story in this game is so good and heartbreaking. Yes, the Abbie portions dragged a bit, I get why some didn't love it- but claiming bad writing is kinda ignorant. The writing was stellar, and used the video game medium to REALLY test the player's emotions.
The Girlfriend Reviews video already said it better than I could articulate. "If you got to the credits and still wanted to kill Abby, you may have beat the game you were playing with your controller, but you may have lost the game Naughty Dog was playing with your soul."
I absolutely loved this game. But not gonna lie, I wanted to kill her in the end. And I understand that’s wrong but sometimes you just can’t let go, even if it means losing yourself. I understand why they went with the decision to let her live but at the same time, after all the people Ellie killed, to let the one she wanted dead so bad, go. It just didn’t feel in line with her character. Doesn’t take away from the amazing journey and lesson to be learned within that stunning story. It’s about forgiveness. And I love that.

I was very close to having the same reaction to be honest, but the final gut punch of having Abby be near death already, trying to save Lev, and refusing to fight, I finally got uncomfortable with her thrashing underwater. Whether or not you agree with the choice, I do think it's impressive to get that reaction out of a game, including your personal reaction. Nice to see someone who can disagree and not blame the narrative.

Joey McDonnell Abby and Ellie are essentially the same character. I would’ve felt bad if Ellie killed her, Ellie of course still hates abbys guts but she kept some humanity and stopped the cycle.
Such a great story. Imagine losing the only thing that matters to you, it being ripped from your life, the one thing giving you a motivation to keep living. Joel lost everything, years after losing his daughter he got a second chance as a father, he wasn't going to let it happen again, even if it meant giving his life for hers.

She went back to Jackson. Its not a bad ending actually. She hopefully met Dina again. After the encounter with Abby she got her bracelet back which means she met Dina again. It was missing while she went to find Abby

There are many..many content in CZcams or other platforms regarding this game. Many has hated it, many has loved it and many are confused or devided..but my o my..I am a 35 year old simple man. In my free time I try and enjoy some good games from my childhood days. Never has anything made me feel the way this game has..We don't deserve this masterpiece..not with all the hate it received because some people are just not ALIVE enough..!

I really love this. Wanted to shed a tear. It practically explains the whole story, but without Abby’s side of it. I don’t understand the haters, but it does show that what the writer wanted to show and make us feel. At least for me. I did empathize for Abby, even though most can’t. Probably because I’m a more forgiving person and I was quick to for give and emphasize for Abby. Nice edits they were quite professional. 😍🥰❤️

Yes! I hated Abby for so long. I almost stopped playing when I had to play her but I pushed trought. I liked playing Ellie more but it was kinda okay. But when she went to the hospital for Yara and we got to know about his father, I couldn’t hate her anymore. I just didn’t care about her anymore. I understood why she did what she did to Joel but the way she did it was wrong.

Great video. It just makes me realise what more they could have done with this story! Imagine a timeline, Joel tells Ellie about what happened they have an emotional fall out. Something happens to Joel, Ellie sets off to find him etc, who goes with her? Abby, a fairly new person to Jackson keen to prove herself... the game goes on a journey of Ellie and Abby looking for Joel.... in actual fact Abby had been hiding all along that she had come to Jackson to kill Joel. Big emotional reveal toward the end of the game where you've made a connection with her and Ellie... they find Joel and she kills him, in a brutal but emotionally satisfying way, hell you could even have joel give himself up and say goodbye to Ellie in order to save her after Abby reveals why, why she did it, what she'd been through and Ellie and Abby have a showdown at the end. Just something more that would allow the playerbase to empathise with Abby. It was a good game but could've been legendary.
That’s a cool idea! But I feel the revenge aspect would be a bit lacking. If it’s just those two out looking for Joel, Ellie could immediately get her revenge, and kill Abby so you don’t get to see Ellie lose everyone and everything
To me the one we got is legendary. Yours just doesn't work. Ellie's entire arc is built up to letting Abby go at the end.
@@clickycal If you liked the story, then good for you, glad it resonated with you. Your comment launches from the basis that the arc they were trying to do is well portrayed, so to.me it doesnt work. It didn't hit the notes for me and alot of others. I think there were better ways to tell a similar story imo and alot of people seem to agree, they were trying to be bold and missed the mark for me personally
I think eillie and Joel story arc is one of the best story ever because both of them lost people in there life’s when you think about both of them needed each other a man who lost his daughter but somehow the lord give him a second chance and that go’s for eillie to part of the journey is the end😔😔😢😢😔

She didn't kill Abby because of 2 reason
first she saw Lev
Second that flashback after that says everything she wanted to forgive Joel It means everytime she kills one of Abby's friend she remembers something about joel(all flashbacks) it means Abby's friends dead made her forgive Joel and it leads her to forgive Abby there was no need to kill abby both were done with this world you can clearly see it in Abby's face when she says I'm not doing this again
I agree it wasn't as good as first game although I even didn't like first game at least as much as other people but we must support these kind of games no matter which company or for which platform because only single player such as this can hold videogames at top and as Art if we want show the real power of videogames and how much they can effect on humanity and how they can beat movies or even books we must be beside each other (no matter you are boy or girl,xbox player or ps player or PC player)not against each other
And third: Because Ellie already got revenge on Abby, killing all her friends and family.

Man, I didn't like Ellie that much in the first game, but she has become easily one of my favorite characters in video games by the end of the second game. Great edit!
That’s a bit weird. I think the aim of her character arc was for the player to question if ellie was worth liking. But fair enough.

Do I agree with many of the choices she makes? No. Still, I think she is one of the most fleshed out characters in video games. Idk, she is just an interesting character study. Also, the point was to question her actions, not whether you like her.
