WHY You Should NOT Buy the RadioLink T8S - Review

- The RadioLink T8S transmitter is small, lightweight... and that's about it. The requirement to use an App to program the radio, and the poorly thought-out design make the T8S complicated to setup and awkward to use. Best thing about it? The gimbals were fairly smooth (though jittery at the center). There are much better radios out there for the current $55 price tag (coughflyskycough).

I don't want this thing, but I really enjoyed your review of it. It was given a fair and in depth shake, and a good overview of the software issues. I'm amazed how well you flew with it considering, it does seem precise at least. I hope they take some of your feedback for the next revision, with a rethink of the switches and software I think it could be a good controller for those who enjoy that form factor.

I purchased one of these but NOT for a Drone/Plane/Copter but instead for my RC Car.
I grew up with RC cars before the tiger grip became a thing, and now when I got back into RC and purchased a couple of new cars I didn't love the trigger controls.
Why did I pick the T8S?
I seemed light weight, and it has a stand that can attach to it designed to hold a screen for drone flying which I wanted to use to put my phone for an easy way to shoot video and control the car at the same time.
After some trouble setting it up, the car seemed very twitchy when I was testing it in my living room (was too dark to test outside), and I was beginning to regret the purchase a little.
However, went to bed, then work, then testing again outside it worked fine.
I am yet to have a full test in a open space, but so far it seems very good for my particular needs & preferences.
I would also like to ad, I had to contact their support on the AliExpress chat/message and they were VERY responsive and VERY good with their product support!
Like often is the case with me, I'm using something NOT for the purpose it was designed for.
It is 8 channels but I only need 2 for a car.
I can post an update if anyway is interested, after I have used it more. but given the age of this video that is unlikely.
Adam: Slight issue with your video in that during the flight test you talked more about other things NOT the Controller.
Looking at what you have there makes me think!!!! I have a very old xbox 360 connected to my pc and a £3.99 rc flight app great fun bipes jets low wing high wing mono's and a glider!! So I think this controller will suite my needs in real world (have a couple models on the go) and I want to appreciate your hounesty and would love to report back with my experiences.... B.
I wonder if they called it the T8S so people would mistake it for a TBS radio and buy it.

What Drone is being used here?
I heard you say budget basher drone, but am not sure what that is. I am thanking about getting a drone that can send back video live, but am still learning about them. I don't need really high quality images, but these that appear to be from the drone seem good enough for my needs.
Do you, or anyone else looking in here have any suggestions?

Ya, I so wanted to like this thing a while back and saw a couple reviews. Has potential I think but you pointed out some important things, switches, APK, etc. that are needing attention. Could be cool if they just did a few things but they have some stuff competition with the new betafpv controller in my opinion and that seems already popular and dependable....thx Adam, never know, maybe they can redo some things and bring something really cool to the market soon. ☮️ Wheelchair John in Idaho USA 😎
Its a shame, because I was going to get a flysky transmitter but I can't find and sbus receivers that support the protocol. My fc doesn't support ppm/pwm
You couldn't find and (sic - I presume you meant to type "any"?) S-bus receivers? iA6C, iA6B, iA10B, A8S are available everywhere. 🙄

Edit, I think you were using the ender 3 printer. You can quiet it down with the silent board upgrade ($39.99usd I think) plug and play replacement from creality.
