    Flysky is definitely a awesome radio, I had it for 4 years and still flying with it. My jumper crashed on me after 2-years. I would definitely recommend Flysky any day.

    I have about 2 dozen drones, ranging from a $60 drone to a $2500 homebuilt drone, and I own probably a dozen radios. I bought the FS-I6X when I was on vacation and the airline lost one of my bags. I needed a decent radio on the quick so I could fly my drones on vacation. Luckily my drones were in two big pelican cases and my radio was packed with my clothes.
    The only radio the local shop had in stock that met all of my needs, and that wasn't extremely expensive - the one in my bag was a $1200 radio, and if the airline was unable to find my bag, insurance would buy me a new one
    So I bought it, and actually I've added a second one to my kit, and I use them specifically in areas where gear is at risk and/or I'm traveling.
    I ended up liking the radio more than either of the high end tx's I own, and now, 4 years later, both of my high end radios are on a shelf gathering dust. I like the layout, responsiveness, weight, and price, considerably. I've gotten so used to the feel of the things that I prefer them over my others.
    My favorite freestyle drone is one of my homebuilts, which I built on an x220s frame, with the solid CF plates, not the CF sandwiching the foam-like stuff the x220 devolved into. It's a wizard in name only, it's been highly modified, including an aerodynamic titanium battery box to protect the batteries during impacts. In fact I built a titanium exoskeleton for the wizard chassis, and I haven't lost anything but props since I made it.
    I highly recommend the FS-I6X and the FS-IA6B. Its easy to forget they're a budget setup.
    I'm a retired airline captain and former F-15C pilot, so ive traveled extensively, and for the last 10 years or so at least one drone has ridden along with me. The size and weight of the FS-I6X has made traveling much easier to manage.

Well, I can by any of several pretty cool PNP kits, and this TX with an RX and still meet my budget! THANKS a *bunch!*

    I love this radio, and I've done a nice mod - I've changed out the three two-way switches for three-way switches just like the original three-way switch. • @Mekanikern
      @Mekanikern Před rokem

      @@darkracer1252 I don't remember where I bought the switches, probably from Banggood, and they were probably standard switches.
      The software is actually configuret for ONLY 3-POS switches. The only difference between a 2-pos and a 3-pos is that the 3-pos lets the selector stay between the High and Low pos - it is seen as High - None - Low and a 2-pos is seen as High - Low. If you look at the switch graph on the screen and you move a 2-pos switch SLOWLY around the middle you will actually see it work as a 3-pos.
      Another nice mod I did was to desolder switch A, drilled a holo in the back panel and fit the switch in the same place just the other way. With that I got a nice "trigger finger" switch for easy access, I used it as a left index finger arm switch. As a thumber that let me arm and dearm without taking the thumb off the stick.

  • @stevefox3763
    @stevefox3763 Před 5 lety +1

    It does not matter if you buy the fs-i6 or the fs-i6x, both have custom firmware that adds a tonne of features and also turns them into 14 channel radios but the FS-I6 is cheaper than the x model and makes sense to buy seeing as you flash them with custom firmware anyway!
    They will never have the refinement of more expensive radios but for the money they cannot be beaten and they can do absolutely everything you NEED to do.
    i flew on a FS-I6 with 'flyplus' custom firmware for a long time and it was very reliable , i now fly with a much more expensive FS-I10 which has a premium feel to is, a color touchscreen, many more switches and variable dials and is much more configurable but i will never get rid of my i6, its a very worthy backup.

    Great video, very informative, thanks for sharing! I'm quadriplegic and I use a multichannel joystick transmitter to drive my RC cars/trucks and my boat. For years I've been using a Futaba 6EX and I love it, the problem is it only has a 6 model memory and I have 8 cars/trucks and one boat (and we all know there will be more to come so I am considering spending just under $200 to get this transmitter and seven receivers. This is OK to use with my ground vehicles, right? Do they make one similar to this that the left joystick centers itself like the right one? I wire my cars so the throttle and steering are both of the same joystick and then I put a piece of 1/4" ID rubber fuel line over it to make it bigger, then I just put the joystick between my fingers and driving my RC's is the same as driving my wheelchair. Any information you can give me is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    He says a lot of “ambiguous” things to avoid hurting feelings and it’s simply untrue. There is no radio on earth that can compete with the i6x under $300. I have been flying mine for over a year with zero issues and no intention to upgrade. The only thing this radio needs is metal gymbals, and unless you’re flying crazy 3D helis you won’t even notice it. And when you finally do upgrade, this thing makes a perfect donor for a simulator setup. For $60 and no internal remote ID, this thing is unbeatable. Cheaper than a UMX and better than any RTF radio. I’d rather have this than a dx6i any day. This is the ideal radio for someone who just wants to go to their local park and fly, or someone who wants to bind their entire hangar to a single radio. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

    I like how when he's describing what you'll need to get setup, he completely left out the most important thing of all. SERVOS & SPEED CONTROLLERS😂
    I was actually really impressed with this radio when I first got it. It comes as a six Channel, but all 10 are there you just have to set up the four channels for what you need. I have an old ct6b also, so I can bind to that receiver (easy)and just use this for both planes. You can use these for like 20 different planes or something. What I need to find out is about the range, and even more important, glitching. I just got this one so we'll see, but it does have many of the same features as the Spektrum radios, which was quite impressive for $53...... I'll let you know how it goes. Just in case anyone doesn't know, those anodized spiked handles on the gimbals are two piece, and threaded, so you can adjust the height up and down to where you want it, which comes in handy for thumb use. The one mod I am definitely doing right away, I'm putting the old gimbal Springs from the ct-6 be in it because I like the sticks tighter. They feel quite loose. So far, an excellent radio.😏👍💯💯💯💯💯

    We are now in 2023 and while the FS-i6X continues to be one of the cheapest radios one can buy (if you only consider its purchase price), it is certainly not the *best* budget radio anymore. I would argue that the Jumper T-Lite V2 ELRS is a way better value in the long term, besides being a much better radio out of the box.

      @RCwithAdam1  Před 3 lety

      Many people have reported the range being at least 1 mile. here's an example czcams.com/video/KZaE1qEnIWs/video.html . Of course receiver type will make a difference. If you are really on a tight budget, it's high value. If you want something that you will grow into for many years (depending on what you do) or have many different brands and types of models, get a multi protocol radio, something like a radiomaster tx16s.

    is it possible to configure through the menu? Maybe configure the channels to make it work with car's ESC, servo, lights, winch and other stuff?

      To use this radio with the OMPHobby M2 helicopter you would need a Flysky receiver that can output S-bus to the socket on the helicopter flight board. An FS-A8S would work.

      Hi, Hassan! I don't know enough about the T-lite to really compare the two, but given that the T-lite is multi-protocol and runs open Tx, I think the T-lite will give you more options.
      Now, as far as ease of use and overall experience, it's hard to say since the t-light also has a much smaller screen, little buttons, and different ergonomic format.
