    Bottas outperforms Hamilton: "Ohh, Lewis just hasn't decided to wake up yet". Hamilton outperforms Bottas: "Valtteri is bad, not championship material, just a number two".

      But to his point one of the items they were knocking Lewis about is the fact that he’s calling the current formula rubbish whilst the panel does the same thing. Why is it such a bad thing that one of the top drivers with the most exposure in the sport calls it out for what it is. Hell its the reason Button left.

      Jp Wiggins ... and Webber. I can understand Lewis' exasperation with the sport's direction because as a fan I've felt it for years, and all I'm hearing about the future is just more counterproductive FIA decisions. As these guys were saying, Kimi looked bored to death after the race. If you can't overtake, at least a driver will be happy if he can push hard and enjoy the drive. But if you can't pass and also can't push, that is just so frustrating.

    • @whynumbers
      @whynumbers Před 6 lety

      I agree that tires are a problem, but its deeper than that. Everything in F1 atm is about nursing and preserving. They cant go flat out not just because of the tires, but fuel needs to be saved, they have only 3 engines per year which also needs to be saved in order to get less penalties at the end of the year. I think aero changes and fuel increase is an improvement towards healthier racing.

    What is this this title? Hamilton doesnt perform in a race or two and the media scold him. Nobody talks about Alonso or Vettel when they go through streaks like this (Surely going by the logic expressed in the video) Alonso after all of his years of F1 has no passion two? When his McLaren Honda was smoking with flames he should have been on the radio cheeringly asking what he could do to help the car and should have been proactive, oh wait that wasn't the case he was sulking on the team radio but people called it funny and overlooked his character.
    Obviously when hamilton doesnt win it is "his emotions" or "he doesnt care about f1 anymore"
    Buzzfeed of F1

      Didn't you realize that peapole like to blame everything on him and hate him sometimes for no reason. Like this one, he doesn't perform on a race weekend very well and everyone says, that he is a shit driver and should retire. Or when he is speaking on the radio for peapole, everything he says is ''crying'' or ''whining'', but when Vettel is crying for blue flags, nobody gives a single fuck, heck they are making memes of it. Or when Alonso, or Kimi are speaking on the radio, they aren't ''whining'' for peapole. I don't understand how can peapole hate on someone this much. Whatever he does he gets immedietly hate on it...

      WTF1 The guy is a 4 Time world champion who is (as stats suggest) on of the fastest drivers of all time. He is fighting for a world championship and wants to be able to push as much as possible all of the time. This weekend he was not on the pace as was not "in the groove" he is normally in for each race session, when you want to win and are not winning WTF1 how would you expect him to feel happy? His engineers tell him to do more so when he responds complains back to them because he cannot, alas what is the problem in that? What do you (the media) want him to do? Be extremely proactive bugging his engineers asking them to do something (even though we all know that he cant do anything -if not a limited amount- from inside the cockpit) to give a false sense of hope, to show you guys he still has "passion" and "wants to stay in F1? No he is a down-to-earth guy and states his mind I mean what is the issue with that?
      Y'all seem to forget Australia where he went behind Vettel (due to no fault of his own) and went on the team radio asking if he could attack Vettel and attempt to overtake him but hey Lewis is a sulky guy

  • @nathanhine5390
    @nathanhine5390 Před 6 lety +3

    Not only is Alonso the best driver in F1, but he is one of the best drivers in Motorsport. He was hot-headed back in 2007, but since then has matured massively and is now the complete package. As for Ferrari, he was forced out as part of a mass overhaul from the top irrespective of Fernando's contribution. And as someone who has interviewed Lando Norris (who was Fernando's team-mate at Daytona), he stressed the impact Alonso had at bringing the team together in adversity. Alonso may have made some team choice errors in F1, but he is now on the brink of a new journey with Toyota in LM and will most likely be in Indy next year.

    You missed the point about hamilton, time and time he said he loves overtaking and thats what racing is all about. So when you are stuck in one of your best circuits, with no chance to overtake its dull, its boring. He strives to win, in qualifying he didnt have the car to challenge the pole, again it gets you down and lewis is an emotional driver. Can completely understand where he is coming from. Crap cars? Thats probably more because of the saving attitude: save tires, save fuel, save engines, save parts, go for endurance. This aint racing anymore.

    I think the reason people are so critical of motorsport (it happens in NASCAR and Indy Car, too - and I'm sure in others) - is that you have to wait longer between events than you do with other sports. A bad football match in the World Cup, for example, isn't that big of a deal because "oh well, it's only been a couple hours or at most a day since the last one, and I've got 3 more to look forward to tomorrow." On the other hand, if you've been waiting for 2 weeks or 3 weeks for the next F1 race, and it's a complete letdown, you have to wait 2 whole weeks before you can get your fix

  • @sgangsterxxxx
    @sgangsterxxxx Před 6 lety +2

    Nico always says " Lewis has some bad races and loses motivation but eventually he gets his anger and tire back to win races ." Everyone loses motivation when things don't go their way. Give Lewis some time he'll come back . If Lewis retires vettel will wipe the floor with the grid in the Ferrari , F1 needs drivers like Hamilton to fight with vettel , I always enjoy Hamilton vs vettel or Hamilton vs Alonso compared to any other fights . He has such a huge presence and I'm sure not one driver has excluded him from the title fight . Stupid title imo

  • @Thumbsupurbum
    @Thumbsupurbum Před 6 lety +3

    If Hamilton retired from F1, then Vettel would just lead every lap. As boring as Canada might have been, we're seeing a pretty interesting championship fight unfolding. Only 1 point separates Vettel and Hamilton right now. I wouldn't be surprised if the championship fight goes all the way to Abu Dhabi.

    we were there for the weekend and in comparison to last year omg heineken green was everywhere... at their Heineken Party that was happening near the track they had 2 guest speakers who im so pleased i met Sir Jackie Stewart and David Coulthard but yes heineken was everywhere and were even handing out Non Alcoholic beers to everyone ... yes Lewis was sour af which is normal to see from him as soon as he has a hiccup , after race interview was with him was so blend even he said it "cars are crap ' ... Yes Canada should stay on a calendar have you seen amount of people who came to support a sport...( not like some "popular" tracks with half empty grandstands) it was so packed this year i haven't seen anything like this in a very very long time... anyways awesome podcast... cheers from Canada

    Alonso says the same thing. Yet people don't say nothing.
    Grosain moans alot and crashes in to walls randomly, no one says anything.
    Rik been sub par the last few years, and 99 Percent of the time looks like he is bored out of his brain and is just there for his Ferrari pay Cheque, no one says anything.
    See where im going with this.
    LH has a few bad races by his standards and he should retire and he doesn't care..... right.. that makes sense.

      This is probably the stupidest shit I’ve seen in the comment section on CZcams.
      Unlike Alonso, Hamilton has never actually had a reason to complain. He has always been in top 3 cars at the very least throughout his career so when he whines it is because he is not used to the feeling. When Alonso whines it’s because he has already proven himself to be one of the best and without a doubt deserves to be in a better car. Instead he is forced to drive the 6th best car when he knows he could do better.
      Grosjean has been HEAVILY criticised since Baku where he threw his car into a wall under safety car as well as not achieving any points in the season compared to his teammate.
      Raikkonen has been sub par for the last few years I agree with you but people have been wanting/suggesting/speculating that he should quit because of this and a lot more reasons ever since it started happening.
      Your points are completely wrong and I have absolutely no idea how or why you got upvotes on your comment.

    I'm kind of a new fan (I started watching around China last year) and so far I haven't found most races THAT boring because to me the sport itself is super exciting! Super good cars with super good drivers in them and I just love seeing that so the fighting is basically bonus (assuming they're pushing tho, that's what was disappointing lately)

    Lets be honest here just because his had some bad races this year doesn't mean he should retire even though I am a Hamilton you lot act as if he should win every race and be on pole every race it doesn't work like that sometimes drivers have good races and bad races, also you lot were questioning about his personality and being disinterested when he loses it's not about being sour or disinterested is just because he has a born winner attitude or wear your heart on your sleeve or he may have a relaxing attitude which all sportstars have, also you people also complained that he says some races are boring when his not winning which he is correct don't forget a lot of fans have said that some races are boring but as soon as Hamilton says it he gets slated or criticised why???

    About the tyres - I would gamble and allow other tyre manufacturers to join. That would mean severe regulation changes and I would take them (even if that means 18 inch rims) for the sake of better racing. Pirelli seems to be lazy; and I would be too - having to develop the type of tyre that makes no sense from development point of view, and failing at making it suited for the sport instead. That makes their presence in F1 purely a PR case. I think the decision to move to these tyres was the worst since moving to the hybrid PUs (I like the idea of hybrid racing engines, but seriously a 1.6 litre hoover, how many people like that)

    He may have had some bad races & he may complain a lot, but he's a 4 time world champion. He's seen the sport evolve over the past 10+ years. He knows what's going on & he has a right to complain. And then people say "he wouldn't complain if he won", even Ricciardo was complaining after Monaco, so it's a mutual feeling between drivers.

    When Jess was talking about the pressure on Hartley, and his team not wanting him there.
    I recommend reading Perry McCarthy's book, he drove for Andrea Moda who signed him then got an offer from a pay driver. They tried to sack McCarthy but couldn't, so they ended up giving him a deathtrap of a car trying to kill him.
    It's insane.

    I think that the tire compounds should be very different from each other, and that teams should be able to run only one compound if they want, this way we might see team going for flat out speed but more stops, and other going for a slower but staying on track longer strategy

    Sport needs to change some fundamental things in order to accomodate for actual racing is the core portion of the spectacle. My 3 suggestions would be:
    - Simplify aero, for reasons we all know.
    - Change budge focus, so that it allows top teams to have 3 drivers, therefore more drivers with a similar playing field.
    - Change tires and the rules related. If you are going to force pitstops and compound change, then force Pirelli to develop fewer tires with same durability but with large speed differences. Or otherwise, allow cars that use the hardest compound to race without having to pit at all.

  • @harrisonseeley1669
    @harrisonseeley1669 Před 6 lety

    Here's an idea. You have to end the race on the same compound of tyre that you started/qualified on. (Not same exact tire, but same compound)

    As a die hard Lewis fan I agree Lewis expressed so much “I’ve done my best, the team has done an amazing job, this is the best result we can get.” But he’s not alone. Basically every driver who doesn’t win the race says that is the best the team can do. Alonso has been complaining ever since he moved to McLaren. Red Bull complains about the engine all the time. Kimi, Bottas just chilled in their second driver seats without putting a fight to their teammate or do something that could change the race. Ricciardo is hesitant on the contract just like Lewis. Basically most participants are either in a really bored state or they feel not able to change anything. F1 is really miserable right now. They need to make the beginning and middle part of the race quicker than the end. The tires are just so unpredictable that everybody plays it safe and runs on the same strategy. Also it is totally bizarre how racers put the fastest lap before a tire change. The race is just messed up right now.
