And personally I want to know what the hell is Sarah's deal with all this? Trying to intercept op, pointed battered wife jokes, a joint letter by her and Andrew? Is she sleeping with him? Have an unrequited love? Just a sick b***h who thinks the abuse is funny? Seriously, something is up with her because she's literally enabling him and helping to gas light the girlfriend

Andrew and Sarah wanted to create a relationship w Kay w an abusive power dynamic where those sadists could physically, mentally, and emotionally abuse and manipulate her for their own enjoyment. The way they talked about her friends in the letter was an attempt to isolate her, and it being in both of their perspectives and how “they were happy” and talk of outside influences was another attempt at emotional manipulation.

Story 2: You ever notice when something starts to become deliberate and targeting someone? Like, Andrew appears to get a kick out of ruining some of Kay's favorite stuff, which is a major red flag, and disguises it by being "clumsy." I'm glad that OP stopped Andrew from bringing the tea, that could've seriously gone bad.
As for Sarah, sounds like she has something against Kay because she is clearly on Andrew's side, and when the friend group turns against them, she plays the victim and makes gross comments towards the others.
Everyone is better off without those two. Andrew can go scald himself

    • @Eppon6
      @Eppon6 Před 10 měsíci +93

It's kinda sad, but the bit where rSlash sort-of skips over the last update section that talks about the therapist, that is one of the MOST relevant bits of the story. If you freeze it and read the text, it says that Andrew had very specific tastes in clothing on women and would subtly bully Kay in private about her choices, only to gaslight her by claiming he was 'trying to be funny' whenever she asked him to stop. Even she thinks it was intentional and aimed to make her dress the way HE wanted her to.
With that context, it is absolutely certain to me that he was actively destroying the outfit choices he didn't like and covering himself by pretending it was clumsiness. Some of the times when he didn't actively destroy clothing (like the ashtray over her head or him spilling things that could be cleaned out) were likely to hide the intent behind the other times.

Hey Dabney! A word to you and others that are clumsy, I used to be the least clumsy person ever! Then my father kept getting upset with me to not look down when I walk, and I immediately turned into the most clumsy, accident prone person, to the point of being barely called human at that point. Broke my ankle down a flight of stairs at school. Tripped over the entrance to an elevator at the mall and got my shoe string stuck in door and nearly lost my leg Final Destination style. WALKED into a LAKE because the small section was the same color as the walkway... After that I just had to stop. Just look down when you walk if it helps lol.

I don't remember if the story was debunked or not, but I did hear a story where somebody became pregnant via oral, but the way the story was written, the odds it would happen was so out there as to be nearly impossible, the claim was that for this particular patient there was a hole in the stomach which led into the abdominal cavity, and another hole into the uterus, and somehow one lonely sperm managed to find its way. depending on my source of the information, I want to say that it was probably debunked in the end, and likely turned out that the doctors were reaching for straws as to how it could have happened, and the truth at the end might have been a secret affair... mysource was probably a Brain Blaze video, and anyone who's ever watched Simon Whistler will know that he goes off on tangents trying to guess what happens later in the story (that somebody else has written for him to cold-read) before he gets to it, which is why I can't remember if these options were just his guesses along the way or how it actually ended up with a surprise ending of it being true. either way his videos are entertaining so at least you will have fun the searching through Brain Blaze videos trying to find this one to see how it actually ended

Clumsiness is a concerning trait. It can be dangerous if not managed and I'd be worried regardless of if it's intentional or not.
I'm a little aloof, not full-blown clumsy, but I became hyper aware of it after having kids and shaped up as many safety concerns as I could to prevent any serious accidents. I have always been a little irked by people who excuse accidents away as clumsiness without doing anything else about it.

Me too, Dabney. I've been clumsy my whole life (45f) and the vast majority of the incidents resulted in me hurting only myself. Only a handful of times have I hurt someone else and they were all minor things that could be laughed off like bonking my head into my husband's or scratching my kids when I'm reaching to pet or hug them. I take extra precautions to make sure I don't accidentally hurt anyone else. I wear slippers everywhere too, extra careful in the kitchen, etc.
Where as my clumsiness has caused me to fracture both of my wrists and ankles multiple times, fractured my tailbone from falling down stairs, fractured my elbow playing laser tag and tripping over tree roots, falling on my knees - which were already bad, bloody noses, scar over my eye from getting pulled into weight lifting equipment by a friend when I wasn't looking at where I was going, the list goes on.
There's no way he was hurting her and ruining her stuff that frequently "on accident". No way.

What’s so scary about the last story was Op intervened the moment Andrew was going to escalate his ‘clumsy’ behavior. If she hadn’t been paying attention or backed down in any way, Kay could have been seriously injured depending on how hot that cup was. There was no doubt in my mind that Andrew was going to spill that cup of tea on her, and he was going to keep escalating the abuse from there until it landed Kay in the hospital.

There's this phenomenon that I hate, but sadly it's a regular part of linguistics.
Essentially, you could call it "connotation shift". A word that means one thing slowly moves to mean adjacent things, until at some point, you end up with a word that used to mean "a bundle of sticks" and now means "insult for a gay man".
So, when she said "deadbeat", she meant it more as "ex I don't like".

Kay's story made me tear up. I feel so, so bad that she was dealing with that anxiety and doubts by herself, not wanting to reach out to anyone because she thought she might be overreacting. I'm so glad that OP is such an amazing friend and was keeping an eye out for her friend. Thankfully Kay got away without further or more serious injury. Who knows what other evil shit Andrew and Sarah had planned for Kay... and it makes me think these "accidents" would have gotten worse and worse, causing more bodily injuries and even end up in hospitalization. I firmly believe Andrew was fully prepared to spill the hot tea on Kay. That's why he got mad when OP took the cup from him. And if he's willing to cause 1st or 2nd degree burns on Kay, who knows what else he is capable of. I hope Sarah learns her lesson with him, because she is an enabler and I also firmly believe she was in on it too. Karma will be a bitch to her. At least, I fully hope so.

the last story is pretty obvious. Andrew lost interest in the relationship but knew he would be cut from the group if he broke up with Kay. Also, given the way Sarah and Andrew acted, they have a hidden relationship going on.

You’re giving them too much credit. Remember, after a discussion regarding his clumsiness affecting Kay, they made jokes about abuse, and Kay being a “battered wife,” but more specifically “how crazy it would be to think that abuse was intentional.”
They’s no other motive I can see for saying those things at that moment if the goal isn’t to isolate Kay for further abuse. Because how crazy could it really be to come to that conclusion, when they did first? Remember, they said all that before anyone suggested he was doing it intentionally.

First Story: Kevin here is um...interesting. I’m surprised him streaking was what got him expelled. I would expect bringing a random LIVE snake to biology class would do the trick.
Update 1: Poor Kevin, he has no idea how sexual reproduction works lmao. He really thinks that he got his girlfriend pregnant by her swallowing his sperm. Also, doesn’t celibacy include oral sex?
Update 2: Damn I feel for Kevin dealing with a trashy woman who wants to make up lies. I think this woman is just as stupid as Kevin because how could he be the father if he is still a virgin? Also, the ending of him trying to get jammed toast out of the toaster with a butter knife was just pure hilarious
Comment: This is why some people should pay attention in class. Thats not how pregnancies work
Second Story: First time sure I’d see it as an accident, second time I’d get a little suspecious, third time I’d get really suspicuous but after that, then its clearly intentional. The fact that these "accidents" are only happening to Kay and the fact he was sooo insistent on bringing the piping hot tea to her himself leaves me to believe he fully intended to dump that tea onto her and try to excuse it as an accident. Andrew is being abusive and trying to hide it under the guise of clumsiness
Update 1: OP wasn’t trying to baby him, she was trying to stop him from further abusing his girlfriend. This further makes me believe that he is simply being abusive but is covering it up under the guise of it being accidental and clumsiness
Update 2: Crazy how Kay even picked up on this behavior and noticed she was always the target for these "accidents". Also, the fact that Andrew and Sarah joked about this and basically gaslit Kay into thinking she was crazy to think these "accidents" was on purpose speaks volumes on the type of people they both are. I’m glad Kay is getting rid of this abusive prick

So, with this is mind, I actually think Kevin got the 'kissing to get her pregnant' belief from anime shows that has scenes involving a girl naively thinking she's gotten pregnant from a kiss from her boyfriend, like I remember this was in episode 9 of the anime, Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry when Ikki and Stella become lost in the middle of the forest. As a fellow clumsy person, this raised many red flags for me... When I accidentally fall (weak ankles), I try to avoid others because I don't want to bring anyone down with me even if it means saving myself... In fact, when my older kids were still young we were at a family easter event and I was walking around holding my youngest in one arm and my eldest's hand was in the other... When my ankle gave out I had no way to stop the fall and I brought both kids down to the ground with me causing the oldest scrapped knees and the youngest a bloody lip... I felt like the worst mother because of this and after I would take so many actions to ensure I NEVER did that again! In fact, I was walking home from my kid's school with them just last week and I began to fall and the only thing I could do was aim for the grass as I was going down.
Andrew was so obviously doing this as a way to "punish her" without being called an abuser. Most abusers do this, they start out small, a "little shove" here, a "joking punch" there, and before you know it is a full abusive relationship where they have conditioned you to think "It's just an accident" or "you caused this"! No abuser comes out the gates swinging they all seem "nice" till they have conditioned you to just deal with their behavior. Sarah obviously likes Andrew till the same starts happening to her! That is why she downplays his "clumsiness" because she wants him but once he starts doing this to her she will have no one to turn to because of how awful she was to her abused friend even joking at her expense. Well, both these terrible people can go off and have each other.

I'd never spill something on someone, not even by accident, let alone scolding hot liquid!!! That guy from Story 2 is insane.

I am also clumsy, I hit myself with furniture regularly and bruise easily. That’s why I’m super careful while going down the stairs. But I’m the only one that gets hurt. The most I’ve done to other people is bump into them because I’m walking fast and didn’t figure out the space correctly. So I also think that guy was “lowkey” abusing her, or just testing the waters. So when he does hurt her intentionally people would think “oh he’s clumsy, it was an accident”. I’m glad she left him!

As someone who's also extremely clumsy, to the point where my family kept an "injury calendar" for me and threatened to put me in a bubble, I have NEVER wound up hurting someone more than myself. If someone offers to help me with tasks, I'm super grateful. Especially to ppl who just want to ensure my safety. I dread the thought that i could get someone injured and can't imagine someone anyone like that would be even remotely upset that someone was just trying to help.

Haha clumsy rslash is very relatable. I'm only clumsy when I'm tired but just so happens after having a kid I have been tired, even three many years later haha. I have cut myself several times by accident cooking etc so I don't use big knifes anymore and that stopped it. Bump my toes so I use Crocs and that solved it. I get you haha

That story about you, your daughter, and the stairs, reminded me of the the first episode of Good Luck Charlie where Bob was going down the stairs with Charlie, then he somehow slipped, let go of her, slid down the stairs on his butt, and then caught his baby girl in front of his other kids 😂

Dabney, I only know you through your channel, but I can tell you're a great father. You consistently call out all the bad parenting you read about, and tell us what you do differently. You go out of your way to protect her, even from yourself. Seeing you play with her and being active in her life only solidifies my opinion.

Rslash is a real one for the clumsy rant cuz sometimes I'll have to carry food or drinks up the stairs and just from putting one foot on the stairs i can tell it's a bad clumsing day and I'll immediately ask for help or try to secure the stuff more

Hearing rSlash talk about his clumsiness is making me think about my own. Whenever I'm carrying a plate of food, sometimes I'll accidentally drop some of my cutlery, and it is always ALWAYS my fork and I have no idea why 😅
I also have a habit of knocking my glass of water over on my desk, and no lie, as I go to click on the next of rSlash's videos to watch next, I come this close🤏 to almost knocking it over 😂

As one of the clumsiest people alive, I relate to Dabney’s anecdotes of clumsiness so much. I’m always covered in bruises I can’t even remember getting but I can figure it out by seeing what household object matches the height of it on my body and therefore what I must have run into. I had to get an elevator pass back in school because I kept falling *up* the stairs. Not down, up.

As someone who is so clumsy that I not only sprained my ankle by slipping on a squishmello, but also broke my finger by falling from LAUGHING, I can say that others have almost never been hurt by my clumsiness but if they were, I would seek professional help to fix it. I would NEVER be ok with the people I love being hurt by me in any situation.
