This was game 2 of the semi-finals between TheGreenOne and JMG
It's kind of frustrating how bad cannons are at firing at lines of infantry because every single canon is aimed at one model in the unit so the damage is never spread out, it's always overkill or most don't even hit.
Very VERY annoying. Happens with elite archers a lot too.
The really irritating part is that CA insists that it's actually better, as if they didn't have center-targeting artillery in previous games
I don't remember this being a thing before Shogun 2, might been present in Empire but its kinda hard to tell, with them having so poor accuracy that it doesn't even matter
It’s like they choose to target one unlucky bastard on the far right/left of the unit instead of the centre of mass.
@@imagine_you_are_a_burger They never had that actually. In previous games, artillery and ranged units targeted the origin point of the formation (the front left corner iirc)
Did any one else see tht cannon shot hit the tree and then bounce back on them 5:31
That's hilarious. I wonder if it did any damage.
I think it did a little
@@kroqybalboa hmm as far as i can tell it did no damage, i think it was still in the timeframe of the shot not dealing damage to friendlies when just fired.
@CrzyLion ok but I really like little things like this like how hell canons have auto lock
Cathay was so hungry for mass that could counter all of that dive. Their guns just didn't have time.
Its super cinematic. Thanks for ur uploads
thanks for watching!
@@milkandcookiesTW it's gotten to the point where other content seems dull to me as I love the cinematic shots
5:33 the cannon hit a tree and, the shot came back hitting the unit lol
WARCRIMEEEEES!!!
Based
@@kenobijursthebadass5233geneva convencion? More like to do list!
I am so sick of people regurgitating this misinformation... the use of flamethrowers is not a war crime, and even if it was the Geneva conventions do not exist in warhammer and even if they did more than half the factions would not sign them anyway.
@@SnowLeopard784 iam so sick of people ruining fun and memes for other people
@@SnowLeopard784as a proud autistic person, I recognise a kindred spirit in your incredibly pedantic take. Chill dude, you sound like Ben Shapiro watching the Barbie movie.

I wish I would discover your videos before man. Excellent job!
thank you!
Your content always makes my day thanks
glad to hear it mate no problem!
Good build from the dawi zharr, took big advantage of all of cathays current weaknesses, hopefully some of them get adressed in the upcoming dlc!
A single Terracotta sentinel would have likely won them the battle, better yet, the green giant, rendering cathay almost completely immune to blasting charges
It was simply a bad build, cathay has incredible tools to deal with it, as is.
9:35 cause baby you're a FIREWORK
LET THEM KNOW THE WIIIIIL OF HASHUT
LET THEM BURN AH-AH-AH
AS YOU SHOOT ACROSS CA-CA-CATHEY
That was a fun one. Seems the Daemon's Tongue can be super imposing.
That Iron Daemon looks awesome. I've never seen it actually fire before.
The tank looks so good now! On launch it was horrible, never worth picking up, but now it looks like a true beast.
Amazing threat overload from the Chorf player.
No crane gunners to snipe down the tank is really what cost them. Cannons put in work at the beginning but they never do as much as you need them to do.
Great video! You planning on doing any Dawnless Days battles? (LOTR mod for Atilla)
Im surprised they don't have Frontline flamethrower infantry. Chaos dwarfs are my favorite campaign. Multiple replays.
Ah yes. the america matchup.
*laughs in Pyro*
CZcams just asked me its usual "was the video this or that" question, and I pushed the "hearthwarming" option as fast as possible :D
Tank in the flank.
Do you sometimes do collabs with Turin? Would love to see you both in a tournament :)
Papa-Bull Bless
@milkandcookiesTW Kind sir, is a higher resolution coming? It only goes up to 720p for me
are you watching on mobile? its uploaded in 1440p, and I generally dont make it public until 1440p is processed and available. mobile platforms can only watch in 720p i think though
Dragon lords always feel underwhelming, totally understand why cathay tapped out, they just really arent the duelists that they really should be against other monsters
Thats the price they pay for being spellcasters and shapeshifters, which allow them to escape into units
@milkandcookiesTW can you share your graphic settings and mods that you use?
I don't think I've ever used or encountered that flame tank, but it seems super op. Seems impossible to tie up and is extremely fast. I don't think the Artillery could even focus it from the start to do any damage
Its very good!
Only elite halberds can tie it up for infantry, but Cav catches and ties it up just fine, even peasant horsemen
One unit of that, with miao swooping down and hitting it while pinned would have finished it, but the player here used their cav to kill laborers instead.
Imagine if mosquitos could carry rabies.
CA really missed the mark with the chaos dwarf chariots. Most OP units I've seen in a while
Really aren't op, they were completely useless at launch, the last update made them actually good rather than worthless
@@the_dropbear4392 on a roster of units of which the majority were already "good" was it really necessary to buff them that much?
Maybe Miao could have used missile mirror on the grenades ? The iron sword were blobed up so she could have casted on 3 units I'd say
that would have been super cool
This really had vietnam vibes
super anti-climatic ending
0:56
I wouldn't worry about that. As one of the most powerful Legendary Lords, Miao Ying is used to taking heavy loads.
3 artys in any matchup is to much. 2 is ussually pushing it.
Makes me sad how fucking terrible the Steam Tank is compared to that.
ive been advocating to CA for some buffs, hopefully they get some by the end of the year
Well it was useless until the 3.1, so maybe steam tank will get buffed too
hmmmmm
This battle really highlights why multiplayer is boring and just not fun. Like what was Cathay even supposed to do? Focus fire? Well theyll probably-keyword probably- kill one of the SEs before they close the gap but after that only Miao can survive on her own and she cant be everywhere at once. The guns become uselss and Cathayan inf just sucks at killing and having any stopping power. This game was not interesting at all and was no different than watching Turins recent video of stomping Cathay
Cathay is a very solid land battle faction. if they weren't, they would not be getting played in the semifinals of a major tournament. there is certainly an element of build roulette and faction counterpicking that comes into play that can change the outcome. And its certainly possible to lose a match before a battle begins based on army composition, especially when both players are high quality and similarly skilled opponents. But you can make any game mode or game sound boring and terrible with reductive arguments like this. If MP is not your thing thats fine obviously, but I hardly think this battle is representative of every matchup or scenario in a game with 20+ factions and 500+ units.
@@milkandcookiesTW using high level players as examples of a faction being solid I believe is a fallacious argument since high level players are exceptions, not rules, and can make things that should not work work by capitalizing very effectively. The problem with this is that it takes a really high skill ceiling to pull these things off. Which is why me and a lot of other people find watching MP fun and playing it horrendous or rather not for them.
On another note, as you said some battles are over before they begin and that's what happened here and what happened in the mentioned video by Turin recently. The battle was over at the start and it was just a waiting game of when the player was going to throw in the towel. And I don't believe my argument is reductive at all because what about it was wrong? Cathay straight up could not do anything. Your commentary was the only thing adding any sort of interest to it because remove your commentary and it becomes a video of Cathayan units just being scattered to the wind and running around like chickens with no heads. This is not saying that all battles are like this, like your Norsca v Chaos vid recently was fun to watch and looked fun too. However, MP does not allow someone to play with their favorite faction and or character the way they want to which is why MP player count is just nowhere near SP count and even when people try and dip their toe in they leave rather quickly. To be clear I'm not making a Zerk style comment of any idiot can make a doomstack. Some people like playing MP and that is not what I'm talking about. I will give an example of what I'm virtually talking about in my comment. If I play Khorne (I am referring to previous versions of the game here so if the meta changed that's not the point) I can rarely bring Skarbrand and instead pretty much forced to bring Valkia like every time which becomes incredibly repetitive and just boring to play because I bought WH3 for characters like Skarbrand and Valkia not just Valkia.
And last note, saying 500+ units is kinda a "really tho??" Would it still be 500+ if we count all dog units as the same unit, or infantry units that are essentially identical?
I think you bothhave valid points, I dont play mp so my opinion is kind meh... But think about how other games balance their mps, there never is perfect balance, in this case for example could'nt Cathay focus on other units (air units for example) and attempt to bypass the problem of the tank later on chasing it down and killing it? I think it came down to unit composition, it did seem a bit lop sided but that may be due to having 3 artys but only 1 hero to slow down the approaching enemy line. I think the artys did not have the impact they could. Maybe 1 less arty and more front line? Not sure, point is I think there might be an imbalance for Cathay in this match up, but I bet it does better and probably even wins against other matchups. There are so many factions and units ther will be some factions with poorer balance then others, but in no way it invalidates a faction like Cathay.
I have to say I have grown very, very tired of total war warhammer battles being all about single entities
Here's hoping Pharaoh brings some of the Total War soul back
