Boron is a trace mineral that is essential for plants and potentially essential for humans. It is found in all tissues of the human body, with the highest concentrations in fingernails, bones, and teeth.
Boron has important functions in bone growth, wound healing, hormone regulation, inflammation modulation, antioxidant activity, and protection against pesticides and heavy metals. It aids in the production of SAMI and NAD, which are important for cardiovascular health and energy production.
Boron supplementation has been shown to alleviate arthritis, support bone health, regulate hormones, reduce inflammation, and modulate oxidative stress. Boron also plays a role in the preservation of vitamin D and the regulation of estrogen levels.

Two months before I turned 60 years old I experienced severe right hip and left knee pain that affected me greatly. I couldn’t walk, stand, sit or sleep for any length of time. This lasted two weeks thinking that the pain would go away eventually.
    Nope!
So I was going to call a medical doctor for an appointment the following morning.
While that was my game plan I thought I would go on the internet and list my symptoms. What came up a lot was “Boron”.
I rushed out to buy a Boron supplement. I took (1) pill and several hours later 80 percent of my pains went away!!!
The second pill the following morning and 100 percent of my right hip and left knee pains were GONE!!!!
It’s been nearly 3 YEARS and no side effects whatsoever for me.
I take (1) Boron 3mg daily. I also have Celiac Disease and now a nearly 63 year old female.

Very good! Countries with high boron soil content are Israel and Turkey. Estimates are the citizens consume 30 to 60 mg per day. No osteoporosis. Jamaica very little 70% osteoporosis.Boron is to the parathyroid as is iodine/iodide is to the thyroid. Half life is 21 hours.

Well presented Dr Osborne, for many decades in animal husbandry we've considered Boron to be essential. For grazing livestock diet is considered vital for uptake of minerals. We test soil for Boron, as is readily available through plants. High Boron soils result in almost zero arthritis in people & livestock.

I read this research review at PubMed a couple of years ago:
    Nothing Boring About Boron
    Lara Pizzorno
Since then, I've supplemented with 3 mg a day of boron.
That seemd to be where the health effects were optimal.
Until recently, when I increased it to 6 mg a day, because that's the level it's effect on testosterone begins to happen.
Many thinks 10 mg a day is what's needed to make sure of that effect.
But it also has an effect on estrogen. And that's not quite clear yet. Decreases, increases, no one seems to know exactly what happens. Probably just that testosterone always converts to estrogen to some degree.
And those who have experience with performance enhancing drugs seems to think boron should be cycled to avoid it increasing estrogen.
I'm not sure about that! I think they forget that this is the bodys natural testerone. Not some kind of PED megadose!
    But clarification would be welcome!
