I was depressed, in bed for 4 days, and remembered that I stopped taking my vitamins, when I did my mood changed very quickly, its mind blowing.
My GP knows practically nothing about vitamins, let alone nutrition. That's why I watch your videos, dr Osborne. Maybe my GP knows more than I think she does, but she is not allowed to advise me on that. The only thing she can do is prescribe a pharmaceutical.
Life extension sells a product called homocysteine resist which includes methylated forms of b6, b12, and b9.
B6 and D saved my life! I was so sicxk in autoimmune disease since birth and now at 46, I feel greater than ever but it took 6 months on B6 to kick in. 6 months..No joke.
What dosage of b6 please? Too much is toxic right?
@@jadep4802 200 mg for a few months and then Im taking just 100mg. 200 is the absolute max. :)
@@Vixinaful which version of B6. P5p or regular pyridoxine HCl? ... And WOW 200MG? That's a high dose.
@@SkedgySky Pyridoxine. Yeah I went down after a while to 100. 200 is only to get it up higher in the beginning.
@@jadep4802i read that b6 toxicity is just b1 deficiency cuz it uses up b1, seems true to me cuz i had to megadose b1 for months before i could take b6 without getting peripheral neuropathy

I wish he would comment on the questions people ask because they are common and it would help a lot.
B6 helps with covid and with breathing, and NAC is interesting too. B6 helps get magnesium into the cells and 60% of mag is stored in the bones,,

Hello Dr. Osborne - Lori from Wisconsin.
thankyou, such a important video
RDI for B6 is about 2mg per day, some doctors say that taking much more than 10-15mg per day can result in long term nerve damage in some patients. European regs prevent supplements from having more than 25mg in a supplement... American and Australian regs are way behind the European ones (still at 100mg per day). There is even talk that the UK and Europe are currently considering lowering their maximum in a supplement to 10 mg / 12 mg respectively (as per discussion papers). Generally water soluble B vitamins are flushed from the system easily so there are no build ups, however B6 has been shown to accumulate over the long term in the event of other dietary deficiencies / internal organs no longer working optimally. Long term B6 has been known to accumulate in the nerves and is a leading cause of peripheral neuropathy / skin issues. Personally I usually take 6mg B6 in my daily multi, sometimes I get another 5mg when I take an iron supplement, works fine for me.
Australia now has a rule that 10mg or more must carry a warning about the risk of peripheral neuropathy. I have a B6 level 6 times the norm and the only non-natural intake I have of B6 was a multivitamin with 12mg. Yes, I have PN.
p5p, the active form does not cause this info as far as I know.
@@albinegit does! That is a myth. It's a bit better but still can make you toxic.
Thank you for stating these facts. Unless you have a health issue depleting absorption of nutrients, absolutely Noone in the US needs B6. The US already fortifies everything with it. You literally cannot escape overconsumption of b6. B6 toxicity is more likely than deficiency in the US. Use with caution. I wish I'd known.
@@gilly8876 haven't seen this personally. But anything can happen with anyone with anything so I believe it is possible yes. Less likely though.
Thanks for this video! I was interested in knowing what’s the optimal numbers for vitamins and minerals in the blood work since the reference levels do not help.

Good morning. From Marcelle in South Africa
I took a B complex & ended up with numb feet because of B6!
It goes away, don't worry. It seems like vit b5 ( over 250mg ) can actually deny the bad effects of b6

Hi from the Netherlands, Can you please make a video for b12 deficiency and a racing heart or other heart problems .
I got B6 toxicity from 25mg a day. I wish people would quit saying high doses of B6 are safe.
I got toxic at 2mg a few times a week. I agree!

I was very low in B6 had depression, low red blood count, estrogen that wasn’t detoxing my dr never told me these were related. He put me on high dose b6. Thing is I was already taking pretty high b6 before he tested me. I wondered what caused my b6 to be so low. I do have autoimmune psoriasis.
Hi Dr Osborne, what’s the best dosage I can take as I’m low in B6 but I take Arimidex for Estrogen Dominance Breast Cancer. Thank you . 🙏❤️ Best Wishes from England x
Hi
U can take almost 1500 or more...but divide the dosage ...5 to 6 times a day....along with yhat start b complex 100.

Dr. Osborne, hello from NY. I already suffer from small fiber neuropathy (Idiopathic) so I avoid the B6 vitamin. I do get B6 from many of the meats and vegs you mention. I often wonder if I should take a low dose of B6 to "help" with my dysfunctional painful nerves or should I just avoid B6 supplementation? I am not B6 deficient. My last Lab level was 22. Is that too high or ok? Ty in advance...love your videos!
Doctor's best Benfotiamine 600 mg and Alpha lipoic acid would permanently fix your neuropathy in a month.
Watch eonutrition on all things B vitamin. It's helping me with too many issues to list.
@@micaonyx5301 yup same. I still can't believe these things could be reversed. Elliot helped me too with my chronic fatigue.
@@jo1872 By Ala I mean alpha lipoic acid. Not alpha linoleic acid.

How about Psoriasis and Psoriasis Arthritis?
You mentioned that people with Parkinson’s are often low and B6. My partner has Parkinson’s and I’m aware that some people believe that it interferes with carbidopa levodopa. How much do you think is safe when taking along with carbidopa levodopa?
Hello I am from Bridgetown Maine. Do you ever do on-line consulting. I need your help with thermodynamics and liver. I have been diagnosed with hypokalemic periodic paralysis. Runs in family. Hey Peter, I came to learn that vitamin b6 deficiency can also play a role in RBC Mg deficiency...have your any information on this as well?
Is b complex getting Od for schizophrenia?
Would my ALT be way below normal range if I’m b6 deficient?
I have Ehlers Danlos/mthfr /neuropathy of hands & feet I have been on b12 I think I’ll try P5p
Do you need lysine to absorb b6
💛
I take the P5P from Seeking Health because my B6 always tests low. Not confirmed to have issues with gluten, but I suspect it's very possible. I also take a B multi from them.
I might be wrong, but I think some zinc is needed for b6 to work properly.
@@Meisterling not to worry, my trace minerals supplement has zinc and I'm currently carnivore (meat has a lot of zinc). Eventually I'll recover. :)
@@therealjenniferrr I also have low b6. I just take an active b complex and p5p. Probably takes months in some.
@@Meisterling yes probably, I'll be glad when it's one less supplement I need to take!
Is regular cows cream a bad fat ?
I have HPP (hypophosphatasia) so I become b6 toxic off of food alone. I can't metabolise b6 due to a gene mutation which causes several issues but basically, my plasma is toxic and my intracellular b6 is deficient. Any suggestions?
Shouldn’t u take complex instead of 1 b vitamin?
YES...ty
Not if your other b's are normal/ high.
26:20 I think you just cured my shortness of breath. It's been on and off for some years now, recently it's come back and I just don't get it why it just comes out of the blue... But I've stopped taking a magnesium supplement that had added b6 in it, replaced the supplement with pure powder magnesium supplement, and if lack of b6 can cause shortness of breath, you might have just made me aware of how to cure this issue.
It's as if, when I breathe in air, it feels like there is a delay before I feel the oxygen in my blood, it's like taking 2-5 seconds sometimes before I can feel my inhalation having any effect at all.
But I've also noticed that ZINC supplements causing these breathing issues, which I also been taking lately again, but stopped immediately again now that the breathing issues are back..
Dr.osborne - do antidepressants (SSRIs) deplete b6?
If so...do antidepressants deplete other b vitamins ?
I have low B6 and fairly low all B Vitamins except Biotin B with my urine test but very high saratonin why do you think? The high limit 12.5 for serotonin mines like 80.5.
Are you on antidepressants?
@@jeffreyconnor9769 No
@jeffreyconnor9769 I had trouble sleeping. They gave my trazadone to try, and my body was shaking. Stop taking!
is it worth buying expensive P5P form of B6 instead of pyroxidine HCL ???
yes
Pakistan is good study of consequence of not following rules. Today’s supreme court’s humiliated position is the result of their own action. As you sow , so as you reap.
I sleep much better after taking B6 before bed. Is there a connection between sleep and B6?
