    I increased a semi detached front back and sides with conservatory from £24 to £33 as it takes me a while (awkward to clean that glass roof). Straight away her face dropped and she asked why. I explained the costs and time it takes which is about 1hr and she came back with the response that her friends window cleaner does hers, same size apparently, for £16. She kept me on still but if I lost the job I wouldn’t be sad.

  • @spencer.kissack.the.author

    You certainly hit the nail on the head Darren.
    I put my prices up and a couple to people who I least expected wouldn't accept a price moaned and winged and wouldn't accept an increase was necessarily justified.
    ..All I can say it's human nature to moan and feel a little aggrieved at price rises.
    No one likes prices rises.
    It's human nature....
    But everything has gone up.
    Fuel, insurance's, materials etc etc.
    So price rises are necessary and if a customer can't see and appreciate that ...
    Get rid.
    End of!

    Cracking video, pisses me off so much when other cleaners don't charge enough, I recently saw a flyer in our local chippy right next to mine, and the guy was offering window cleaning from £5 and gutter cleaning from £20, absolutely ridiculous. Must say though that his flyer looked very cheap next to my professional looking one but it pissed me off so much. Pleased it's not just me

    • @AMindInOverdrive
      @AMindInOverdrive Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah nice points here. This is why putting "Professional Service" and other stuff like "Fully Insured" in big letters on there is worthwhile ;-)
      Because when yours is next to his, now people will see that he is NOT a professional service, and likely not insured if he does any damage to their property.
      Also, if he sees that on there, he will be embarrassed to put his crappy flyer next to yours ;-)

For the hassle they'd have to go through and find a new (and satisfactory) window cleaner, £5 price rise isn't a lot. One guy I spoke to hasn't changed his prices in 10 years........

    I'm in the process of informing my customers right now of a price rise starting next month. I've just bumped up one customer from £6 a month (I know it's crap...I'm in the North East) to £8 a month. Her response...'that's extortionate!' She still didn't cancel but that's the typical mentality.

    • @rackopablo7706
      @rackopablo7706 Před 6 lety +2

      deltafit you have to put them straight from the off.. nowadays for every £10 you earn £2.90 is going on income tax and NI payments plus you have fuel and expenses. So you're left with £6.50 maybe from each £10 priced. That's the way I look at it. Good luck.

I suggest you watch some of my other videos and learn how to do MONKEY WORK and make enough to live comfortably and support yourself and your family, not that I see anyone wanting to be related to someone with such an arrogant attitude that you think others deserve what you get. Perhaps if you were better at what you do you'd get better raises, but if it's performance related reviews then I think 2% was generous for a dick head attitude like yours.
