We Took out Tub and Made HUGE WALK IN SHOWER --- Heated Tile Floors, Quartz Bench, and Linear Drain

- Jacuzzi or deck mounted tubs can be a waste of space that could be better utilized with a walk in shower. The option to do a bench and curbless or low curb shower is possible. Many people like the idea of not having a shower door to open and close when they enter and exit their shower. When we build a shower bench we like to use quartz for the top, and if there is heated floor in the bathroom, such as Schluter Ditra-Heat, we like to run it into the shower floor and bench.

Work of true professionals. I’ve been watching your channel for some time, and have learned some valuable tips and information. We are currently building our home, I’m a one man band so to speak. Approximately 90% of the work has been done by myself. It won’t be long before we are ready to build our walk in shower. It will be curb less, size 42x72 with bench , niche, rain head shower and wand. Might call on you for some tips and questions along the way. Beautiful shower you guys just completed. Absolutely top of the line quality. Thanks for the videos.. James
Once again, I missed out on seeing the tiles going down, the whole reason I subbed to this channel; watching showers being built from the ground up.
Isaac this is beautiful shower. I just started to do shower and bath floor tile. Your videos have taught me everything I needed to know about tile work in and around showers. I started with my own and incorporated it into my business although I have a really hard time with actually pricing my work because of so many different tile variations. Also on little learning curve as just starting out time work. I do like that I always make sure my customer knows I take little longer than most contractors as do all the work myself. Would like to eventually set up a mobile showroom for customers and the other reason is to keep down my overhead. Anyways I am one of those that says if you get up in morning in anticipation of learning something new everyday you will never be disappointed. Thanks again and keep them coming.
You were the channel that inspired me to do a custom poured stand up shower. I like how you tell people how to do it, what to watch for, etc. thanks
So dang nice. . I’m doin ah shower , removing tub, just like you- because of you. Tile Coach gives me strength.
Ditto
Dude that is absolutely stunning...! What a statement piece. You must have so much job satisfaction after work like this. Certainly something to aspire to!
Looks damn good bro, ❤️ you too, n love you being my tile coach. You have helped me here in Michigan with my tile jobs, and I sincerely thank you.
great work as usual. Ive remodeled two of my bathrooms just from watching your channel. Keep the content coming!!
Dude that is such beautiful work. I think this is my favorite that I've seen from you so far.
Totally awesome! It takes a lot of construction knowledge, hands-on experience and craftsmanship to design/build a bathroom of that caliber. You really are an engineer when you get to that level of design.
Not only does it have to work but there are so many nuances to consider.
When you only have a limited amount of space to install so many fixtures and when you are dealing with expensive finishes that have to be installed by well-paid tradesman, you want to get it right the first time!
You really are an artist!
Pride in workmanship is #1!
I saw a tile coach sticker at Roseville Home Depot on a handicap parking sign haha so close to you ☺️
Love the new bathroom brother. Been watchn you for a while. Love what you do for the trade. Keep it up and Thank you.
This is an truly beautiful and well designed shower - excellent job~
Probably my favorite shower of yours. Stunning details
Looks great Isaac! I’m doing a similar build at my house! It’s always cool to get a good tour of the finished product! Thanks!! 🙌🛀
I love that there’s no door into shower.
Very spacious and amazing view from the windows.
Imagine having a hot shower on a snowy day.
Just an awesome bathroom. 👍
Awesome job coach! Love this design.
That's a beautiful design and immaculate craftsmanship.
Looks really nice, and something many people with those old 90s jacuzzi tubs would love to have!
Thank you for this video. I am in the process of doing almost the exact same layout. You just gave me some more ideas. good thing I'm at rough in stage.
Nice walk in & pebble floor. Also like that took time to seal everything and not putting on homeowner, which usually does happen b/c of timing etc….
ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL design & functional bathroom Reno👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers✌🏻
Thanks Aepek, you know I haven’t given it much thought but I should probably include a sealer on all our jobs. Those little things really make a difference. I also left them with a gallon of miracle tile and stone cleaner as well.
Gorgeous shower Isaac! Great job!
Isaac, thank you for your excellent video tutorials. I want urge you to look in detail at washlet toilets and toilet seats. I ran in to my first experience with one staying in a hotel in Waikiki for a conference. It shocked me. At the end of that trip I was convinced that I would not live without one. Back in Sacramento, Costco had a sale and I installed it in one of my bathrooms. It has become the most popular bathroom in the family (I have four and am finishing tiling a fifth). I am so sold on these contraptions that I retrofitted plumbing in my latest bathroom where the toilet is a high tank model (the house is an 1899 Victorian in Midtown Sac.) The more people who use these the more converts we are going to get. It is inevitable. They are that good.
Very nice work. The textures are beautiful. I like how you tile your niche.
Looks perfect! Good job!
VERY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL!! MIKE
Superb Vid!!! excellent decisions
Awesome work! Looks amazing, got some good ideas for our remodel coming soon.
Glad it could help!
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
love the clean glass n delta fixture
Nice work 👍🏼
Looks awesome
Good job guys. This bathroom is beautiful.
But clear windows that goes below your waist right in the shower?
If someone is playing in the pool or cutting the grass , you can’t take a shower!!! I would have put frosted windows there.
Yes, we considered putting an obscure window film. We still might do that.
Looks good!
Dang lot of work but it is super nice..you always make me bring my A game in my town.. Love seeing pride in a job...
Beautiful bathroom, and the outro was a nice surprise.
Great work!
Nice job! I was waiting for the toilet to spray you. Lol
textured floor and niche look very nice
Looks really great! That sliver at the bottom really was the best choice and it blends in well with the pebbles. I am dying to try a linear drain, they just seem better in every way, unfortunately i dont think they work with pan liners if im correct and we've yet to expand in using that type of system. Great work as always.
You can use them with pan liners, they make some specific for pan liner installations. Check out LUXE drains.
The shower floor looks amazing !!! Great job I'd be happy if that was my bathroom
Thanks Jim
Good grief! So much talent with you and your crew! Nice job top notch 👌
Probably more hard work and dedication than talent. But thank you!
Amazing
Your long time follower
It’s really helpful tutorials
How long??? Thank you!!
Amazing job.
Great shower and video!
Beautiful job.
Build to perfection🔥 good job brotha
Not perfect but dang close!!!
Looks great. Thanks for pointing all the layout details to minimize the cuts. Question: the 511 was put on the floor, what would you recommend for the wall grout?
Awesome shower
So beautiful. Have you done a tutorial on waterproofing/tiling around windows? They look great in this video.
That came out sweet!
awesome bathroom the shower amazing 🤩 a blast 💥 of work
yeah looks really nice. super! I hope to have one like this for myself.
What a beautiful job 👍.
Beautiful.
I just recoated my tile with 511. Also (unless you have a hot water loop) you may want to think about moving the valve like near that window next time so you don't have to walk into the shower to turn on the shower and wait for hot water to get there. I put mine closer to entrance of shower but yet well within reach of showering. Right near the window would have been perfect. Just a thought.
Great tip! The nice thing about having a handheld on a diverter is you can point it away from you while you wait for the water to hear up.
Beautiful
I’m impressed with the design. No privacy on the windows
One of the best to do it!
Truly awesome
I’m digging this channel
Glad you’re here!
Very nice, we just did the same in out house👍
Amazing design 👍
Thank you Matt
Looks awesome. Any chance you’ll be doing a niche video anytime soon? I’m curious what the different choices are for how to tile a shower niche.
Awesome I wish I could send you pics of the 1 I jus did..keep it ☝
Very nice. The shower itself is probably the size of my entire bathroom.
Wow that would work for me good job.
That’s an awesome turn out!!, I’d be proud to put my name on it
Thanks Josh, I am really happy with how this one turned out.
Fantastic work. I plan on doing the same with our bathroom. Never use that tub. Also, get yourself a bidet! Even a cheap add on will change your life!
Hey Eric I love your videos man. Do you know much about Tadelakt showers? I think they’re cool and would make for a great video!
I’m impressed with the design. No privacy on the windows though.
I never understood how people can just have no privacy on their windows..My niebor across the street has absolutely no curtains on his windows.,at night everybody ride by can see him sitting in his living room watching tv..it's strange
Looks excellent coach. One day I'll have a nice bathroom done by a professional like yourself. Maybe I just need to move out of the bay area and to your area..lol
Looks great! Is there any risk of water damage over time onto the closet ?
I’m learning, really nice 👍
Glad to help :)
What a awesome job I love the tile it’s beautiful and so is the shower floor. I’m in the middle of a new addition and I would love that tile for my walls and floor. Hay coach my shower is 4’x 6’ center drain concrete floor doing everything myself do you sell pre sloped floor kits. Let me know thanks Carl.
Wish I could find someone as good as you in. New York
Beautiful! Is it much more expensive to do a shower floor that's a large format tile cut and sloped? I see that in Europe a lot, but they usually don't have showers this large.
Love the pebbles!
Me too. So colorful and fun 🤩
so good
Thanks Mark!
I love this bathroom. I’m in the planning stages on finishing my 1,700 sq. foot basement and would love to incorporate this design. When the time comes I will be contacting you on your helpful one-on-one coaching. Do you travel out off California for jobs?
Very nice. Good design. Looking at heated floors and walls in our next master shower.🤔
Do it!!
@@TileCoachLove you're channel. So much information to help us. Thank You so much!!!!!
,
Great job. Getting ready to do something similar...remove jetted tub and make a larger shower. But!!!....concerned about 100% waterproofing around large horizontal slider with window channel that would be at chest level. Gotta keep water from finding its way to framing underneath. I may replace with 1/2 sized "basement" style window at head height. How did you seal around your windows????
I love that 12x24 stone look tile. Do you have the style/manufacturer/color for that? Would be greatly appreciated!
One of the best color and designer I've seen you do. What is the make and color of the tlle?
Me too. Most of my clients are very conservative, but this one took a bold step and let us do some color!
I just did a bid on a remodel that is almost exactly the same. Can you give me an idea on how much the customer would pay for a job like this? So I can compare and be competitive. Looks Great. Love the channel. Please keep it coming. I am learning a lot.
Absolutely stunning Isaac! The O Tile team knocks it outta the park again.
Thanks Jason
awesome! did you float the walls?
Gorgeous. Wondering if you guys charge more for all that little tile.
Can you share the details on the wall tile? I like it a lot
Nice work! Do you know what brand is the shower faucet? 🚿
Is the glass partition siliconed? Looks nice!
I have Vladi coming next month. He floats and sets in 1 day, has tile coach sticker on his van. Cool guy. Want to use this, is it passion in gris? Thanks
If I recall correctly, in the past I thought I heard you suggest to use the largest tile as possible on the floor and not to use mosaic to minimize grout joints.
Professional work, love to know the cost on that remodel, guessing 15k-20k.
Really nice. I've wanted a curbless, doorless shower ever since I saw one in Thailand 20 years ago on vacation. Thought it was the coolest thing. Only thing I struggle with is I think it would be great to have a bench in there with a rain showerhead over it, if you ever just wanted to just sit for a moment, put your head down, and feel the water on you. Not sure how to do that with just using a screen and not a door. Anyone have any suggestions, I'll take them. Going to start removing my jacuzzi tub and do this soon.
I need mi done
which grout did you use a for the walls and which grout did you use for the pebbles floor.
Isaac, question, where is a good place to get Laticrete products around Sac? Thanks
Did you use 3/8” or 1/2” glass? Last time I used 3/8” that size without a down rod from the ceiling the glass flexed a lot almost to a breaking point.
Those pebble shower pans love to hold water
