- It seems the Internet has already declared this 1976 Chevy K10 Sport Stepside from @JunkyardDigs unrestorable. Kevin and I got this old squarebody running and driving for the first time in 20+ years and NOW I'm going to restore it. Crazy? Yes, but do you expect anything different? I've dubbed the truck the "Silver Dollar Chevy", and she wants to live. I give the truck a good looking over, clean out and tune-up, and, well, Pole Barn Garage happens! ► Watch Junkyard Digs 'Will It Run' Video: • Will a RUSTY & RARE Ch...

This truck went to the perfect home, excited to see it all fixed up!! 🤘🇺🇲
Dalton level fix?? Should be interesting for sure
How many cans of spray foam is this going to require? 😆
Hey Kevin! Congratulations to you and Mook. You know, for getting rid of this truck...
@@MadScientistGarage All of it??
I'm a little upset ya didn't set him up with bibs and a big ass pliers.
It always makes my day when I see somebody working on something worse than what I work on and fixing it the same way I do
LOL can I copy yours sentence as it applies perfectly to me.
That young man does an epic job filming! 😎 Great team 💪
Yes he does! Thanks for watching!
I came to say the same thing! Great job filming, and an awesome helper!
Dalton, the clip of you attempting to drive this onto your trailer deserves to be a permanent intro clip. This was fun. Thanks.
😂
Dude, your like the funniest, craziest, down to earth auto mechanic I've ever seen. After seeing you on JYD's I've literally been binge watching you for last 2 days. You just remind me of old friends working on cars throwing old parts across the garage drinking beer. Seriously keep it up I'm definitely going to enjoy watching your future videos!
Glad you dig it! Thanks for watching!
@@PoleBarnGarage Seriously, brings me back 35 years doing the same thing to 60's and early 70's junk. Good times. LOL!
The increasing number of guys with the same shade tree mechanic abilities I grew up with taking their time to get old abandoned cars back on the road is great to see.....keep up the good work.
The same thing happened to me, I’m now currently falling down that rabbit hole, great content, well deserved 100k CZcams button, more to come 👍🏻
THANKS 👍 for showing your son how to be a strong resilient person who can tackle any challenge. The bond between you two is amazing! Plus, he doesn't complain and is very respectful! When I become a Dad I would want a similar relationship with my son, very positive and uplifting.
Strong dad's make strong men
I thought this was going to be like a chip goose restoration channel how disappointed to find out it wasn’t LOL this is one of the best channels out there
😂😂😂😂😂 chip goose made me spit my drink
JD did a awesome job filming this video. Glad to see you guys working together again. What a awesome team.
I would love to see this old truck restored. It is very doable. Old square-bodies are very easy to restore. My old 74 K20 was also a plow truck out of Iowa. Onawa Iowa specifically. Had to replace the whole bed, the front fenders, front leaf spring hangers on both sides, and still have some work left on the cab. Went from very rotten to just a little rusty very quickly. And it was very rusty. Just about as bad as this 76. Who knows, my truck and this 76 might meet one day.
The truck is literally missing the floors, and this man says “it’s not that bad” God, I love this channel
Well what are floors really for anyways
I love step side trucks. Been waiting to see this vid and look forward to more! Love that you include your son, great way to pass on the knowledge and keep old cars alive!
Thanks for watching!
looking forward to seeing the silver dollar Chevy come along
Thanks to Junkyard Digs I'm here. First Pole Barn Garage video for me. Holy heck man, how eloquent and switched on is JD!
I appreciate you not making us wait too long to see this gem again.
More to come!
I busted on it!
I have a black 76 2wd. Factory 454, factory tach, am/FM/CB (and the factory Delco cb mic)....I found a stepside bed for cheap, it was less rusty. Big block was built in the early 90s, flat tops, cam, Holley Intake, and ran really good until the cam wiped a lobe. I love the bicentennial trucks. Mine had a stack of 76 bicentennial quarters glued to the dash, so I really like the silver dollar Chevy idea
I saw you horsing around with Kevin on that truck on his channel and now I'm watching you horse around with his truck once again 😂 considering how beautiful your grandfather's truck turned out I am positive you can do something with this square body. Keep up the great work and the great content 👍✌️🇺🇲
When I saw the state of it over on Junkyard digs, I kinda assumed it was a gonner. I got faith he'll get it fine.
Just came across these guys. Just great stuff!
Your little man makes an awesome camera man! Nothing like spending quality time with your son! Great videos and content
50k subscribers!!!!! Man that went from 30k in a week!! Congratulations 🙏 the day job is getting the boot soon 👍
I dunno about that 😂
I believe it was vice grip garage that showed us that trick of mixing the oil stabilizer in the oil jug. Love the channel! They keep catching me on summit racing’s website at work and they say “you really need a project car” so I’m hoping I can find one soon!
Awesome to see more on this rig after Kevin's Video @Junkyard Digs @Pole Barn Garage
I almost feel like with where this truck is starting, you could actually make it pretty damn nice by the end compared to the Holey Goat and the Roadrunner 😂 I'm not necessarily a pickup guy, but I already love this thing
Saw this when you picked it up on Kevin's channel. Definitely worthy of being part of the Pole Barn Garage fleet. Nice job filming JD!
Step side trucks was the only way to go my dad had a few old chevy trucks, nice to see one going back into service
Great job by the both of you, Kevin don't realize how much fun he missed
Thanks for watching!
Currently looking for a 1980-85 Ford F-350 Crewcab with a long bed setup. I want to put a stepside on it from the 67-72 era when Ford made stepsides 8 and 9 ft long. Prefer a stepside.
Love the "walk through cab" lol Can't wait to see what you do with this old beast.
It’s a good 3 inches too short. I don’t even think you could strangle somebody with this, useless! I am so glad you did a video with Kevin, glad to have another awesome channel to binge watch
I love the collab you did with Junkyard Digs. I can't wait to see what is going to happen to this truck
I love watching Junkyard Digs and I am so glad that I followed that truck to your channel. I hope to work on things with my son as well as you work with yours when he gets older. Very inspiring to watch.
JD started with me about age 4
Old washing machine cases work a treat for floor pans, dryer cases are too thin, & they already have pre installed 90’s
Im happy i found your channel nothing better than watching a dad and son working on stuff together and having fun 👍🏼
Added this channel to the weekly rotation of car saving shenanigans. I always feel like trucks like this would fit perfectly into TV series where the world has gone full zombieland. Hence never pull off the plow if it has one, you'll never know when you'll need it 😁🤘
"Grab my keys" whips out pliers... @junkyarddigs Kevin is proud. 😂
So pumped to see a fellow Missouri native doin big things!!!
I feel a midlife crises coming on. My first driving job was for the Milwaukee Journal, in 1977. I ran resupply routes in 1 ton Suburbans with just a drivers seat. The rest packed full of newspapers. They were really good stout trucks. They survived teenage drivers like me jumping them (not when full). I'm glad to see this one getting some love.
Sure glad I don't have to mow your yard! 🤣
Oh, don't forget to brace the hood... you mentioned that in the JYD video.
Love this video
That is a really cool short bed sport. Looking forward to seeing it progress.
You and me both!
Looking forward to seeing you restore this dude, awesome truck 👌
Thanks man!
Reminding me a lot of some old cars I had that only had floors courtesy of a broken Maytag washing machine. Lots of fun guys.
Old Square bodies are like the energizer bunny they just run and run and run @Pole Barn Garage
PBG, JYD and VGG triple threat collaboration when?
Always fun time to be had Cool old truck 😁👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Dalton JD has became quite the helper for you. And this old square body runs great.
Fix a couple of these rust holes. You have another Flip.also congratulations on reaching 50K viewers. Your methods are just a hoot! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks as always!
Well I have now watched this video and the revival video twice and it has inspired me to try my hardest to get our old Scottsdale back from the guy my dad sold it to
hey man congrats. you are about to hit that number of subscribers to really get over the hill. you deserve it. i have been watching since you picked up the holy goat. great channel and i love the budget build quality of everything. keep kicking ass Dalton
Thanks!
Dude, I'm absolutely in love with this truck! Can't wait to see more of it. Excellent find and glad it's getting some new life fed into it. She deserves to live! Glad you got it man!
I didn't know that truck existed, Now I have to have one some day
Very entertaining fellers, great to see some fellow Kansans making use of the zip tie daisy chain to hold doors in place.
Out of all Kevin’s recommended channels you sir are my favorite fo’ sure😲
Thanks!
Being a step side definitely would look great restored for sure. Be a fun project
The cool thing about about the floorboards is if you end up on the lid during an adventure. they can be used as an escape hatch.🤔👍
Easy clean up too😅
That's à cool truck for free! Thé SBC V8 sounds good! Hope you can make à good transmission out of the two! Can't wait To see vidéos on this build!
Can't wait to do it! This is the fun stuff
Sweet Christ, man... flying down the interstate in an 8 lug square body, towing a 6 lug squarebody... gas stations must love you!!
Oh, yeah!
Love square bodies and the fact it's a step side is a bonus.
I'm glad Kevin from junkyard digs introduced us to you I love these old Square bodies have had a few in my day great trucks hard to kill a small block even when they're not running right and sounding like s*** they still keep on trucking love the video can't wait to see it done
Came here from JYD! it’s been 8 seconds and i’m already enjoying!
Awesome!
This will be a great winter project!!
Great show!
All you need now, is an LMC catalog, about $2000 in panels, a welder and a few weeks. I’d like to see you throw this back together.
Bingo
Pretty sure I heard jb weld was on the horizon
Convertible Floor Pans. I’m jealous. Lol
Parts may not be new but they are new to this truck 👍🏻 I have rust free doors, fenders and a cowl hanging on the garage wall for my 81 gmc, it doesn’t need them now but they aren’t costing me anything waiting 🤷🏻♂️
Keep up the good work. Enjoy your videos. Remind me of vgg before Derek hit it big. Nothing against derek he is awesome but I appreciate your attitude work effort and getting your kiddo involved.
Definitely a new channel I look forward to watching. Your ability to joke is awesome, and I hope to see you have the same ability to restore vehicles 🤣
I hope so too! Thanks for watching!
J.D and your friends do an amazing job of catching all of your shenanigans lol, i super enjoy your videos, keep it up man.
I bought a truck that was completely rotten like that in college. I put a whole gallon of Bondo in it. I made new wheel openings, rockers and bought and installed new chrome wheel opening trim, and sold the truck for a tidy $800 profit. That started my side hustle buying, fixing up and selling cars.
Came here after seeing the finished product and I'm all the more amazed at how it came out.
Always got me busting a gut laughing, perfect truck for you.
Found you through Kevin's channel, and your humor is amazing. Love the super basic seeming restoration. Sure hope you can find a way to not go backwards anymore haha. First you couldn't get it in park...now you're gonna slip into the lake.
I am REALLY looking forward to this build!
I ran across you by watching JYD and I really enjoy your down home humor. You remind me of myself working and talking to myself but not video😊 Awesome to see your Son working with you and learning to be self sufficient, it’s a lost art in much of the world today. I look forward to you working out the kinks in the 76. Apparently, the transmission died of shock when you gave it new fluid
Them washers will come in handy next week on the next project lol @Pole Barn Garage
Yesss!! Dude if you can bring that 'ol GTO back around, this will be a cake 🎂 🚶 walk haha 😂 love your content bro! Pumped to see the build with this truck! Thanks for sharing! 😎
I absolutely love your channel your absolutely hallarious and keep up the great work 👍 👏 😀
Thank you!
If CZcams would give an award for the most destructive mechanic / repair man you would be in the top 3!!🤣
Keep on being the normal guy👍🏻
Will do!
Dude you are like the redneck Morgan Freeman of narratives. I love it. Yes starting following you because of junkyarddigs on this truck
Thank God you fixed that fan shroud!!! I though I’d half to go through the whole video without seeing a self-tapper!! You know what Dalton? I’m really enjoying your channel. It’s moving up the list.
Had to. Thanks for watching!
Take the canopy and some pallets and make yourself a little shed with it, more storage is always good!! The trailer load was epic dude. I do know those 1 inch carb spacers take away some bottom end power, but nothing you will notice with that thing 😃 hahaha fyi, Petrified poop is called copulight!!! I got tons of fire opel, jade, lots o rocks!!
The door montage was hilarious to me...
So glad you worked with junkyard digs on this truck. Would never have found your channel otherwise. This is entertaining as hell! Would be sweet if you could find a new cab and bed for this beast!
Thanks 👍
Awsome guys, the truck is going to the perfect home, excited to see what you are going to do with the truck👌🔥😎
Absolutt!
Was definitely looking forward to this one. Going to be a great project!! Worthy of a G.O.A.T!!
No doubt!
Just discovered your channel via junkyard digs. Dude! I love what you're doing! Those turds you work on remind me of what we drove in high school in south west Missouri in the late 70's. They may have been turds, but we were proud of them just the same and it was all we could afford. The holy goat is the coolest car ever! Great to see J.D. working right beside you. He's an awesome dude! I just subscribed and am going back to watch past videos as well as telling all my friends. Keep up the good work! !!!!!
The quick jump from trans tunnel to "what nice weather were having" was golden thanks man
The Farm Truck will live on through other trucks that get a second chance. Great episode.
Love the channel, it's interesting that you use epoxy and what not, it makes sense because anytime you weld you are giving a spot to rust from the weld. Glad Kevin hooked you up and can't wait to see more progress. I didn't know your channel existed until he uploaded the first video.
Glad you're here! Thanks for watching!
P
I had a ‘78 Scottsdale step side 2WD, 350 4spd. I had all kinds of problems with it. Terrible rust issues around windshield, front fenders, rockers. Rear diff blew up, camshaft ground itself down. Learned the hard way how to fix all things mechanical. Finally gave it up after 20 years and that was over 20 years ago. I saw it driving down the highway about a year after I sold it to Pick-n-Pull. Someone totally restored it. Looked amazing! Good luck. Subscribed
Thanks!
watching Kevin & you persevere in getting it to roll and start was crazy
after that, I have zero doubt that you will not succeed
I am looking forward to the videos that you do on this truck. I am a subscriber on your page because of Kevin's page.
Kevin was right your videos are a lot of fun.
I will say what you load the truck on your trailer was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time
Thanks👍and thanks for watching!
It was terrifying!
Couldn’t wait for tonight. Watching at work.
Right On! Thanks for watching!
Nice zip tie work there @Pole Barn Garage
Hell yea brother! Can't wait to see what you do with the silver dollar chevy. I loved every bit of this video. Thanks for sharing
I hope to see more collabs between you and Kevin, I found your channel via his video and the sense of humor you two have really mix well. Consider me a permanent resident after seeing holey goat. ;)
Also, Silver Dollar Chevy is a great name, fun to build a theme around? Maybe take one of these dollars and put them in the car somewhere fun? Imagine you'd mod in a coin slot.. :D
Definitely plan to put one in it somewhere! And you'll be seeing more of us together soon 😉
Going to be interesting to see you fix that cab.
I didn’t expect much from you from Kevin’s video but this blows my expectations outta the water love your content you earned a sub and regular veiws ❤
You should never expect much from me 😂
After seeing you on Kevin’s channel, I’ve been hooked watching yours. Lol. I love watching you and your son working together. They’ll be memories you’ll share forever. Keep the good stuff coming. I can’t wait to see what you’ll be wrenching on next!
Thanks for watching and for your comment!
*I didn't expect to see this so soon after subbing to your channel!*
I like surprises! Welcome aboard, and thanks for watching!
@@PoleBarnGarage yeah, me too! Thanks!
Before changing that transmission try to top up the transmission fluid to the correct level. The fluid quantity that you' ve lost might just be what's causing your transmission to run only in reverse.
Very entertaining video.
It is full, i think drop the pan, filter, etc might be worth a shot
@@PoleBarnGarage great video on the old girl. I love it.
That was an entertaining video for sure! Had to grin when Kevin was laughing as you were trying to load up. I had a 77 stepside square body for a long time, so you made me smile for sure. Used to subscribe to JD, got aggravated when they ruined the AZ Bronco trying to run it off the factory fuel tank even when they saw the condition of the fuel coming from the tank. Been meaning to become a member for some time, finally did today.
Appreciate it! Make sure you check out the first vid on his channel!
Just rewatched this and man , hard to believe shes the same truck now! I cant wait to see how your 4X4 van project goes this year!
Been looking forwards to seeing the end result for this
Your wait is over! More to come, and thanks for watching!
Work on it on thr trailer so it don't go flying into the pond after it's running @Pole Barn Garage
You and your son remind me of my father and I. Always helping out in The shop sorting bolts or being a welder’s helper.
I'm so excited for this build!! I really want that truck!! I love to see it!!
