    Over the past few months I've had some suggestions to review the CP3 Accord V6. What better way to introduce my take on it to you guys, than by comparing it with my CL9! I also discuss the CM6 and CU2 and deduce which is best out of the 4 models of 7th and 8th gen Accord Sedans.

    You’re asking why the interior is more plastic in CP3 and the answer is - America. This car was designed with Usa in mind and CL Accord was Japan/Europe car. Same goes with the TSX, when I sat in one it felt a little bit more cheap, even though it’s the same car and TSX is “enthusiast Accord” so mostly are equipped nicer than Accords. However i cannot agree more that CL/CM Accords have probably the best interior design/quality in Japanese standard production cars. Especially some higher version with Half Leather seats and PSS with display looks so fresh for a car which came in 2003.

    I prefer the later models of euro like my 2011 euro R cu2 luxury. It has a lot more technology,more leather,came with a modulo body kit,has the K-24 Z3 which is the best k series engine to modify according to the K swap builders I follow on facebook.We’re all different when it comes to the accord euro-some prefer the older models some prefer the later models. I wouldn’t own a v6 accord,here in Australia I’ve heard owners have a lot of problems with these v6 engines and the automatic transmissions in them. Good video 🇦🇺👌

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks man, the K24A2 is the best for modifications, comes in facelift CL9. Z3 doesn’t have proper Vtec and has a collector style header rather than individual. The block k swap people may use though as it’s high compression like the A2. But as a whole the A2 is the better engine.
      The CU2 is a nice car, but all those luxuries come at a cost of weight, it doesn’t handle as well or feel as nimble as a CL7/CL9

  • @tubeorchoose
    @tubeorchoose Před 2 lety +6

    Great video! But you are biased since it's up against your own CL9 ;) I've recently purchased this Accord V6L and it is a beast! Very smooth to drive and pretty good handling!
    It has "F1-style" paddle shifters and great to put this to use for the corners otherwise I am not really a fan unless it was actually MT! Nice to have though.
    I am keen to manual convert it in the future - any recommendations from anyone would be appreciated. So far, Torque Performance, JTune and NDT say it's all technically possible but will be a lot of $$$. Also, as mentioned in your video the US version came in a 5-speed manual so the parts would mostly come from there. However, LHD and ECU could create some challenges.

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  Před 2 lety +1

Idk maybe taking a newer motor with the 3.7 that had shawd from the TL and the 6 speed will be easier. Just swap the wiring harnesses And ecu, i believe I would be good if I did that. You have confirmed what I love about the CP3, that J35 is such a great engine, heaps of power and torque and can be relatively economical if driven carefully. The understeer is expected due to the weight but the chassis is solid, typical of this generation of Hondas. I own a CP3 like this one and it was such a good car on my Coromandel Peninsula road trip. @@brendanh8705 hah yeah ur right 5k is a lot less than mine is worth but you could build one almost as fast as mine for 5k.
      And I know, it frustrates me too. Not a lot I can do tho. Can't go back to stock l. But I'm going to really try to be less biased in my future videos and keep my personal opinions out of it
