10 Install Tips for J-Pipes on Honda-Acura V6 Cars

- An ATLP Honda-Acura V6 J-Pipe is a pretty straightforward part to understand and install, but there are some particular tips that may really provide some help in making the installation seamless. In particular, pay attention to tip #6! This is especially important with you 9th gen Accord V6 installers!
This video will cover J-pipe installs from ATLP and well as other brands. The subject car is a 2013-17 Accord V6, but these tips will work on 3rd gen TL, 4th gen TL, 7th, 8th, and 9th gen Accord V6, Pilots, Ridgelines, and any other Honda or Acura V6 car.

With any type of header exhaust scavenging upgrade, I rarely hear people talking about tuned equal length pipe work when upgrading OEM gear. In my experience with a naturally aspirated engine. The pipes on these cars on the way the exhaust is designed it works a little differently. These are just collector pipes underneath the engine, the manifold is actually built into the cylinder head itself and dumps directly into a catalytic converter. Exhaust pulses have largely evened out into regular exhaust flow by the time they get down to these merge pipes. Calibrated length of the primary tubes isn't really as significant as you might think. Benefit to these pipes is the larger diameter and efficient merge. Power band is altered by moving the merge closer or farther from the engine but primary tube being equal length is much less important

Good tip! Typically we do but for video presentation usually take them off.

was looking online and i saw an atlp j pipe that said “catted version” probably a dumb question but will that come with a cat on it that i can pretty much swap out or will i have to cut off the oem cat and weld it on
Yes, will come with a cat. Wouldn’t recommend it though. There’s no point in getting the J-pipe if you keep the cat on.

I guess your cousin's a pretty decent welder then. These are bulletproof MIG welds.
How much HP/TQ does this add to a 2015 J35Y1 Accord Sedan. Mine is stock with just a K&N replacement filter.
These pipes gain between 8-15 hp depending on the spec and supporting mods.
They only add actual power if your delete the catalytic converter.
can this possibly fit on the 2013 honda crosstour EX-l 4WD v6, will the driveshaft get in the way?
A FWD maybe but we do not have an option for the AWD sadly.

That is because none exist. The J32A2 has a more conventional header setup.
@@Heeltoe. What do you mean by "more conventional header setup"? I thought a j-pipe was just a bolt on exhaust component that is shaped like a J. The 2003 CL does have that kind of pipe on the exhaust shaped like a J, but it's it called the A or B pipe. The pipe is replaceable with a bigger free flowing pipe but it's made by P2R. and the size of the pipes along with the header are too big for my preference. So, I was looking for alternatives. Thanks for replying.

Will turn on any cell or engine light on dash installing the rv6 j pipe in a 9th gen accord ?

Could it be possible for us aspec owners to replace our exterior mirrors with the type s ones that power fold.
Possibly but I would not want to think about how to wire this up...maybe the wiring is still there?

Why didnt u guys have the same Stock flange on your j pipe.. but instead u guys want exhaust leaks later. And we all know Honda RARELY have exhaust leaks from the flanges because of there genius indentation design
An o-ring gasket design would be awesome yes, but they do cost more to manufacture and we needed to increase the size of the piping to give it performance benefit. If we were going to use the same flanges as the factory then we would be stuck using the same small size. Also, these flanges don't leak either. You're completely wrong and a little out of line to tell people that these are going to leak over time because they're not going to. We've been making exhaust pipes for 20 years and never had a problem with a gasket just randomly starting to leak.
Does the jpipe take the cat converters place on the bottom? Or is the cat still evident?
A 3rd cat is optional with this pipe. The cat is incorporated with it.
